A novel sparse array (SA) structure is proposed based on the maximum inter-element spacing (IES) constraint (MISC) criterion. Compared with the traditional MISC array, the proposed SA configurations, termed as improved MISC (IMISC) has significantly increased uniform degrees of freedom (uDOF) and reduced mutual coupling. In particular, the IMISC arrays are composed of six uniform linear arrays (ULAs), which can be determined by an IES set. The IES set is constrained by two parameters, namely the maximum IES and the number of sensors. The uDOF of the IMISC arrays is derived and the weight function of the IMISC arrays is analyzed as well. The proposed IMISC arrays have a great advantage in terms of uDOF against the existing SAs, while their mutual coupling remains at a low level. RGBT tracking receives a surge of interest in the computer vision community, but this research field lacks a large-scale and high-diversity benchmark dataset, which is essential for both the training of deep RGBT trackers and the comprehensive evaluation of RGBT tracking methods. To this end, we present a Large-scale High-diversity benchmark for short-term RGBT tracking (LasHeR) in this work. LasHeR consists of 1224 visible and thermal infrared video pairs with more than 730K frame pairs in total. Each frame pair is spatially aligned and manually annotated with a bounding box, making the dataset well and densely annotated. LasHeR is highly diverse capturing from a broad range of object categories, camera viewpoints, scene complexities and environmental factors across seasons, weathers, day and night. We conduct a comprehensive performance evaluation of 12 RGBT tracking algorithms on the LasHeR dataset and present detailed analysis. In addition, we release the unaligned version of LasHeR to attract the research interest for alignment-free RGBT tracking, which is a more practical task in real-world applications. This paper introduced a dual-layer broadband high-gain circularly polarized (CP) antenna. The proposed broadband CP antenna consists of the radiating patch and couping structure, which is made up of opening slot patch and L-shaped stub. An axial-ratio bandwidth of 26 % (4.36-5.66 GHz) is shown by this proposed dual-layer CP patch antenna with a simulated -10-dB reflection coefficient bandwidth of 37 % (4.23-6.15 GHz). The broadband characteristics offered by this CP antenna are promising for a wide range of future applications.

Quantum emitters are a key component in photonic quantum technologies. Enhancing single-photon emission by engineering their photonic environment is essential for improving overall efficiency in quantum information processing. However, this enhancement is often limited by the need for ultraprecise emitter placement within conventional photonic cavities. Inspired by the fascinating physics of moiré pattern, we propose a multilayer moiré photonic crystal with a robust isolated flatband. Theoretical analysis reveals that, with nearly infinite photonic density of states, the moiré cavity simultaneously has a high Purcell factor and large tolerance over the emitter’s position, breaking the constraints of conventional cavities. We then experimentally demonstrate various cavity quantum electrodynamic phenomena with a quantum dot in moiré cavity. A large tuning range (up to 40-fold) of quantum dot’s radiative lifetime is achieved through strong Purcell enhancement and inhibition effects. Our findings open the door for moiré flatband cavity–enhanced quantum light sources and quantum nodes for the quantum internet.

We construct a ternary [49,25,7] code from the row span of a Jacobsthal matrix. It is equivalent to a Generalized Quadratic Residue (GQR) code in the sense of van Lint and MacWilliams (1978). These codes are the abelian generalizations of the quadratic residue (QR) codes which are cyclic. The union of the [50,25,8] extension of the said code and its dual supports a 3-(50,14,1248) design. The automorphism group of the latter design is a double cover of the permutation part of the automorphism group of the [50,25,8] code, which is isomorphic to PΣL(2, 49). Other weights in this code, other GQR codes, and other QR codes yield other 3-designs by the same process. Due to the complementarity of RGB and thermal data, RGBT tracking has received more and more attention in recent years because it can effectively solve the degradation of tracking performance in dark environments and bad weather conditions. How to effectively fuse the information from RGB and thermal modality is the key to give full play to their complementarities for effective RGBT tracking. In this paper, we propose a high performance RGBT tracking framework based on a novel deep adaptive fusion network, named DAFNet. Our DAFNet consists of a recursive fusion chain that could adaptively integrate all layer features in an end-to-end manner. Due to simple yet effective operations in DAFNet, our tracker is able to reach the near-real-time speed. Comparing with the state-of-the-art trackers on two public datasets, our DAFNet tracker achieves the outstanding performance and yields a new state-of-the-art in RGBT tracking.

Constructing MRD codes by switching

MRD codes are maximum codes in the rank-distance metric space on m-by-n matrices over the finite field of order q. They are diameter perfect and have the cardinality qm(n-d+1) if m ≥ n. We define switching in MRD codes as replacing special MRD subcodes by other subcodes with the same parameters. We consider constructions of MRD codes admitting such switching, including punctured twisted Gabidulin codes and direct-product codes. Using switching, we construct a huge class of MRD codes whose cardinality grows doubly exponentially in m if the other parameters (n, q, the code distance) are fixed. Bound state in the continuum (BIC) is a dark mode with infinitely high quality factors(Q-factors), it has recently attracted considerable research attention in photonics. Here, we present a metasurface that can support two BICs, which consists of AlGaAs. By breaking the structural symmetry, the two BICs are transformed into quasi-bic modes because they are not protected by the symmetry. Furthermore, it is found that the two quasi-BICs resonate near the fundamental and the second harmonic respectively, which can be used to enhance efficiency of second harmonic generation. By exploiting the high Q characteristics of this structure at both frequencies, we can obtain a second harmonic generation efficiency of nearly 10– 3 with 1GW/cm 2 of pump intensity. Our proposed metasurface will offer good prospects for nonlinear operation.
