In additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels, construction of polar codes is needed for every operating signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Recently, the proposal of the design-SNR reduces the computation effort in constructing polar codes. In this paper, we prove that although the BER performance of the design-SNR construction is not affected, the packet-error-rate (PER) performance is degraded compared with the point-by-point construction. Therefore, a concatenation scheme is proposed to improve the degraded PER performance. Results show the validity of the proposed concatenation scheme when employing the design-SNR construction.

Converting whisper to normal vocalized speech has been a hot research topic in speech signalprocessing area. A complete and large scale whisper database is a major basis for this task. In this paper, we propose a multimodal whisper database in Chinese mandarin. A total of 103 syllab.es and 100 sentences were carefully selected. 5 male and 5 female participants pronounced the syllab.es and sentences in whisper and normal styles respectively, result in 4096 parallel speech utterances and 263, 849 frames of voicing face and lip image sequences. The beginning and ending sample point of each syllab.e were lab.led both for speech signal and voicing face video. The lip region of interest were also extracted and provided in the proposed database. Experiments in various speech conversion tasks in different speech database show the effectiveness of the proposed multimodal whisper speech database.

Sentence alignment, as one of the most active and fundamental tasks in the field of natural language processing (NLP), is usually realized in two categories of methods. One is traditional methods which are firstly proposed, the other, which are adopted later, is based on the Neural Network method. Presently, under the limitation that the existing mainstream data corpora are mostly in the form of 1-to-1, the alignment models with relatively good performance mainly apply to the cases of 1-to-1 sentence alignment. However, under the circumstance that a sentence contains too much information, 1-to-N sentence alignment can actually have a better effect on sentence translation tasks, compared with the 1-to-1 form, since it is more flexible and can reduce the complexity of the original sentence. As a result, we attempt to exploit neural networks with relatively good performance in the cases of 1-to-1 to fit in the cases of 1-to-N. In this paper, a novel 1-N Bilingual word Embedding with Sentence Combination CNN Improved Framework (1-NBESCC) is proposed in order to align 1-to-N sentences more precisely. Experiments show that our proposed model performs as good as the traditional methods such as BLEUALIGN in 1-to-1 situation, but much better in 1-to-N situation.

A planar, small size, high gain, low specific absorption rate (SAR) and circularly-polarized (CP) wearable antenna is proposed in this paper. The antenna is fabricated on a substrate with a dielectric constant of 3.5 with a thickness of 0.5 mm and sized at 42×42 mm only. Both the simulation results show that the overlap bandwidth of impedance and axial ratio of the proposed antenna is 13.7% (5.15-5.91 GHz). To isolate the antenna against the influence of the human body, a artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) plane is added on the reverse side of the radiator. The AMC structure effectively isolates the human body from the radiation of the antenna and reduces the specific absorption rate (SAR) of it by more than 96.1% at 5.5 GHz, which improves the antenna gain and the peak gain reaches 5.09 dBi at 5.5 GHz. The wearable performance of the antenna was analyzed, and it is observed that it can sustain good performance even under human body loading. Beside, the antenna has a small size, which makes it ideal for wearable applications.

A novel and efficient speckle noise reduction algorithm based on Bayesian contourlet shrinkage using contourlet transform is ***,we show the sub-band decompositions of SAR images using contourle transforms,which provides sparse representation at both spatial and directional ***,a Bayesian contourlet shrinkage factor is applied to the decomposed data to estimate the best value for noise-free contourle *** results show that compared with conventional wavelet despeckling algorithm,the proposed algorithm can achieve an excellent balance between suppresses speckle effectively and preserve image details,and the significant information of origina image like textures and contour details is well ma intained.
