This work proposes an improved reversible data hiding scheme in encrypted images using parametric binary tree lab.ling(IPBTL-RDHEI), which takes advantage of the spatial correlation in the entire original image but not in small image blocks to reserve room for hiding data. Then the original image is encrypted with an encryption key and the parametric binary tree is used to lab.l encrypted pixels into two different categories. Finally, one of the two categories of encrypted pixels can embed secret information by bit replacement. According to the experimental results, compared with several state-of-the-art methods, the proposed IPBTL-RDHEI method achieves higher embedding rate and outperforms the competitors. Due to the reversibility of IPBTL-RDHEI, the original plaintext image and the secret information can be restored and extracted losslessly and separately. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. The task of RGBT tracking aims to take the complementary advantages from visible spectrum and thermal infrared data to achieve robust visual tracking, and receives more and more attention in recent years. Existing works focus on modality-specific information integration by introducing modality weights to achieve adaptive fusion or learning robust feature representations of different modalities. Although these methods could effectively deploy the modality-specific properties, they ignore the potential values of modality-shared cues as well as instance-aware information, which are crucial for effective fusion of different modalities in RGBT tracking. In this paper, we propose a novel Multi-Adapter convolutional Network (MANet) to jointly perform modality-shared, modality-specific and instance-aware feature learning in an end-to-end trained deep framework for RGBT tracking. We design three kinds of adapters within our network. In a specific, the generality adapter is to extract shared object representations, the modality adapter aims at encoding modality-specific information to deploy their complementary advantages, and the instance adapter is to model the appearance properties and temporal variations of a certain object. Moreover, to reduce computational complexity for real-time demand of visual tracking, we design a parallel structure of generic adapter and modality adapter. Extensive experiments on two RGBT tracking benchmark datasets demonstrate the outstanding performance of the proposed tracker against other state-of-the-art RGB and RGBT tracking algorithms.

A novel broadband ±45◦ dual-polarized magneto-electric (ME) dipole antenna is proposed for 2G/3G/LTE/5G (3.3–3.6 GHz)/WiMAX applications. The proposed antenna has Γ-shaped feeding strips to impart a wide impedance bandwidth for its special structure. Stable antenna gain and radiation pattern are realized by using a rectangular box-shaped reflector instead of planar one. The antenna is fabricated and measured. The measured results show that a common impedance bandwidth is 83% with standing-wave ratio (SWR) ≤ 1.5 from 1.59 to 3.83 GHz and port-to-port isolation larger than 25 dB within the bandwidth. The measured antenna gains vary from 8 to 10.8 dBi and from 8 to 10.6 dBi for port 1 and port 2, respectively. The antenna has nearly symmetrical radiation patterns with low back lobe radiation both in horizontal and vertical planes, and broadside radiation patterns with narrow beam can also be obtained. As an important figure of merit for characterizing the quantized collective behaviors of the wavefunction, Chern number is the topological invariant of quantum Hall insulators. Chern number also identifies the topological properties of the photonic topological insulators (PTIs), thus it is of crucial importance in PTI design. In this paper, we develop a first principle computatioal method for the Chern number of 2D gyrotropic photonic crystals (PCs), starting from the Maxwell’s equations. Firstly, we solve the Hermitian generalized eigenvalue equation reformulated from the Maxwell’s equations by using the full-wave finite-difference frequency-domain (FDFD) method. Then the Chern number is obtained by calculating the integral of Berry curvature over the first Brillouin zone. Numerical examples of both transverse-electric (TE) and transverse-magnetic (TM) modes are demonstrated, where convergent Chern numbers can be obtained using rather coarse grids, thus validating the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method. This paper presents an adaptive reversible information hiding algorithm that can maintain thee JPEG file sizes by using RLC (Run Length Coding) AC coefficient coded for embedding, the key point is to choose the appropriate number of participation to hide information. By calculating the maximum storage capacity of the image at different system, select the appropriate RLC pairs to rotate and embed data. In the extraction stage, by calculating the sequence of the original RLC pairs status, then consult the mapping relationships between the current sequence and the original RLC pairs sequence, we extract the secret message and recover the original image. Test results proved that the proposed method can improve the rate-distortion performance to some extent. © 2018, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

This paper proposed a lossless data hiding scheme by variable length code (VLC) mapping, which focused on embedding additional data into JPEG bitstream. The entropy-coded data in JPEG bitstream consists of a sequence of VLCs and the appended bits. Not all VLCs defined in the JPEG file header are used in the entropy-coded data and the replacement of unused-VLCs do nothing with image decompression. Hence, additional data can be embedded by mapping the unused-VLCs to the used-VLCs. To obtain higher embedding capacity, we improved the mapping rules in this paper. Employing the proposed mapping scheme, larger embedding capacity and no image distortion are both achieved while the filesize of JPEG is preserved after data embedding. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2018.

Paper-reviewer recommendation task is of significant academic importance for conference chairs and journal editors. It aims to recommend appropriate experts in a discipline to comment on the quality of papers of others in that discipline. How to effectively and accurately recommend reviewers for the submitted papers is a meaningful and still tough task. Generally, the relationship between a paper and a reviewer often depends on the semantic expressions of them. Creating a more expressive representation can make the peer-review process more robust and less arbitrary. So, the representations of a paper and a reviewer are very important for the paper-reviewer recommendation. Actually, a reviewer or a paper often belongs to multiple research fields, which increases difficulty in paper-reviewer recommendation. In this paper, we propose a Multi-lab.l Classification method using a HIErarchical and transPArent Representation named Hiepar-MLC. Firstly, we introduce a HIErarchical and transPArent Representation (Hiepar) to express the semantic information of the reviewer and the paper. Hiepar is learned from a two-level bidirectional gated recurrent unit based network applying the attention mechanism. It is capable of capturing the two-level hierarchical information (word-sentence-document) and highlighting the elements in reviewers or papers to support the lab.ls. This word-sentence-document information mirrors the hierarchical structure of a reviewer or a paper and captures the exact semantics of them. Then we transform the paper-reviewer recommendation problem into a Multi-lab.l Classification (MLC) issue, whose multiple research lab.ls exactly guide the learning process. It's flexible that we can select any multi-lab.l classification method to solve the paper-reviewer recommendation problem. Similar to existing codes, puncturing and shortening are two general ways to obtain an arbitrary code length and code rate for polar codes. When some of the coded bits are punctured or shortened, it is equivalent to a situation in which the underlying channels of the polar codes are different. Therefore, the quality of bit channels with puncturing or shortening differ from the original qualities, which can greatly affect the construction of polar codes. In this paper, a general construction of polar codes is studied in two aspects: 1) the theoretical foundation of the construction;and 2) the hardware implementation of polar codes encoders. In contrast to the original identical and independent binary-input, memoryless, symmetric (BMS) channels, these underlying BMS channels can be different. For binary erasure channel (BEC) channels, recursive equations can be employed assuming independent BMS channels. For all other channel types, the proposed general construction of polar codes is based on the existing Tal-Vardy's procedure. The symmetric property and the degradation relationship are shown to be preserved under the general setting, rendering the possibility of a modification of Tal-Vardy's procedure. Simulation results clearly show improved error performance with re-ordering using the proposed new procedures. In terms of hardware, a novel pruned folded encoder architecture is proposed which saves the computation for the beginning frozen bits. Implementation results show the pruned encoder achieve 28% throughput improvement. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.
