RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) are essential for gene expression, and the complex RNA-protein interaction mechanisms require analysis of global RNA information. Therefore, accurate prediction of RBP binding sites on full-length RNA transcripts is crucial for understanding these mechanisms and their roles in diseases. While machine learning methods can predict RBP binding to RNA fragments, extending this to full-length transcripts presents challenges due to sequence length and data imbalance. In this paper, we introduce RBP-Former, a binding site joint prediction model designed specifically for full-length RNA transcripts that can be used for multiple RBPs. This model processes information at both coarse and fine-grained levels to fully exploit sequence data and its interactions with multiple RBPs. We develop multi-level imbalance learning strategies, achieving favorable results on imbalanced data. Our method outperforms existing methods in predicting binding sites on full-length RNA transcripts for multiple RBPs, demonstrating its effectiveness in handling imbalanced label and sample distributions.

This paper presents a method integrated equivalent-input-disturbance (EID) and repetitive control (RC) to mitigate the effects of non-linearity and uncertainty in a pedaling rehabilitation robot. The repetitive controller is designed to ensure accurate steady-state tracking of periodic signal. Meanwhile, the EID estimator, combined with a state observer, is responsible for estimating and compensating for the impacts of non-linearity, parameter uncertainties, and disturbances caused by patients with lower-limb impairments. We design a Lyapunov stability function to assess the stability of system. The parameters of the control gain are obtained by linear matrix inequality (LMI). The results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Rehabilitation robots and human-robot interaction systems are receiving increasing attention in modern healthcare and engineering. Motion intent recognition techniques based on surface electromyography (sEMG) signals provide important support for these systems. However, motion intent recognition models rarely focus on the spatiotemporal properties of sEMG signals simultaneously. There is a lack of interpretable analysis of these spatiotemporal properties. The purpose of this study is to perform gesture recognition of sEMG signals from the Ninapro database using a temporal convolutional network (TCN). The sEMG signals are converted into sEMG images, which are used as input to the TCN model. The TCN model is utilized to perform gesture recognition on these images. The results show that after fusing the spatial and temporal features of the sEMG signal, the recognition accuracy of the TCN model is significantly higher than that of models using only spatial features or only temporal features. To understand the decision-making process of the model, we used an interpretable method based on Shapley values to perform a detailed interpretive analysis of the recognition results. The experimental results show that the TCN model has significant accuracy and stability in the sEMG signal gesture recognition task, while the Shapley value-based interpretable method can effectively reveal the contribution of different features to the prediction results, thus improving the transparency and user trust in the model. This study not only provides a new technical tool for sEMG signal gesture recognition but also demonstrates the value of interpretable methods in deep learning models.

User-side distributed energy storage, as a flexible demand response resource, possesses excellent source-load interaction characteristics and can effectively interact with the power grid. However, currently in China, user-side distributed energy storage resources often face difficulties in directly participating in grid regulation due to factors such as dispersed geographical distribution, small individual installed capacity, and uncertain output time. To address this issue, this paper proposes an optimal economic dispatch strategy for microgrids that considers distributed energy storage aggregation. First, a distributed energy storage aggregator is introduced to manage scattered user-side distributed energy storage resources in a scaled manner, and the scheduling potential of distributed energy storage in each time period is assessed based on consumer psychology theory. Subsequently, a multi-objective optimal dispatch model for microgrids is constructed, which takes into account both economic and environmental aspects. The multi-objective optimization problem is transformed into a single-objective optimization problem using the weighted assignment method, and the CPLEX solver is employed to solve the problem. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method in this paper are verified through a microgrid test system.

The coarse pointing assembly (CPA), as the outer loop of the laser terminal, its tracking stability is the basis for ensuring laser communication. This paper presents the model of the CPA. Aiming at the disturbance factors in the low-speed operation process of the CPA, an active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) method for the position loop of the CPA is designed based on the generalized proportional integral observer (GPIO) to achieve disturbance compensation control. Finally, simulations are carried out on the system model. The simulation results show that compared with the PID control strategy adopted, the proposed ADRC strategy based on GPIO of the CPA can effectively improve the tracking accuracy.

This paper discusses the problem of attitude control of a quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). As external disturbances and system nonlinearities will affect the attitude control of quadcopter UAV, making it difficult for general control methods to achieve satisfactory results. To address this problem, this paper applies the equivalent-input-disturbance (EID) approach and the model predictive control (MPC) to the attitude control of a quadcopter UAV to ensure the reference tracking and suppress the influence of the total disturbances on the attitude of the quadcopter UAV, and the simulation results prove the effectiveness of the method.

Alarm systems serve as the first layer of protection for modern process industries to monitor industrial processes and ensure operational safety. However, the presence of alarm floods is common in alarm systems and may distract operators from critical alarms. To provide decision supports to operators during alarm flood situations, alarm prediction becomes a potential effective solution. The difficulty of alarm prediction lies in how to achieve high prediction accuracy over long-term consecutive alarm monitoring periods, including situations with either high or low alarm rates. Consequently, this paper presents an industrial alarm prediction method for both alarm flood periods and non-alarm flood periods. Specifically, a strategy of combining fixed-length and fixed-time sliding windows is designed. Further, an alarm prediction model based on Informer is proposed for alarm prediction under different alarm rates. A case study is presented to prove the validity of the proposed alarm prediction method.

In order to mitigate the adverse impact of denial of service (DoS) attacks, this work designs a parameter self-tuning controller based on fuzzy rules for vehicle platoons with vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications. Aiming at achieving the cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC) of the vehicles with a required inter-vehicle distance and the same velocity, while considering the possible DoS attacks, we propose a parameter self-tuning longitudinal controller combining linear control and fuzzy control to enhance the stability and resilience of the platoon systems. Firstly, by analyzing the dynamic characteristics of vehicles and the mechanism of DoS attacks, we establish the dynamic model of vehicle platoons and model the impact of random DoS attacks as a constant data transmission delay, whose probability distribution can be defined using the Bernoulli random variable. Then, a linear controller based on fuzzy control is designed for longitudinal control to guarantee that the platoon keeps a reference velocity and the specified inter-vehicle distance under DoS attacks. Finally, thorough simulations are performed and the detailed results show the performance of the secure longitudinal control scheme for vehicle platoons in terms of stability and security.

The gas utilization ratio (GUR) in a blast furnace is directly linked to the efficiency, cost-effectiveness and environmental impact on the blast furnace ironmaking process. However, The stability of the published GUR time series prediction models need to be improved. This paper presents an improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) incorporating linearly decreasing inertia weights (LDIW) to optimize the kernel-based extreme learning machine (KELM) for single-step prediction. This paper uses singular spectrum analysis (SSA) to preprocess the data and extract the key components from the GUR time series to solve the problem of high volatility of the GUR time series. In addition, this paper introduces LDIW to improve the optimization ability of particle swarm optimization algorithm, which enhances the stability of a single-step prediction model. Then this paper uses the improved PSO algorithm to extract the optimal parameters of KELM, and establishes a single-step GUR prediction model based on the improved PSO-KELM. Finally, this paper uses the actual production process data of blast furnace to verify the prediction model. The results show that the prediction accuracy of GUR and the overall stability of the model are significantly improved, providing important guidance for the blast furnace ironmaking process.

Surface electromyography (sEMG) based gesture recognition has received broad attention and application in rehabilitation areas. sEMG signals exhibit strong user dependence properties among users with different physiology, causing the inapplicability of the recognition model on new users. Transfer learning (TL) is a representative method to reducing user gaps by utilizing features already learned by pre-trained models. However, TL uses a large amount of training data due to the discrepancy of sEMG among different users, which increases the training burden. In this paper, a multi-user adaptive network (MUAN) is devised to decompose the insensitive features among different users to improve gesture recognition accuracy for new users, which is based on variational modal decomposition (VMD), convolutional neural network (CNN), and TL. Ninapro dataset is used to evaluate the adaptability of MUAN and the training burden on new users. Experimental results show that MUAN outperforms CNN and TL, and reduces the training burden for new users. MUAN has the potential to provide a robust and generalized HMI system for clinical applications.
