A Multimodal Emotion Perception model with Audio and Visual modalities(MEP-AV) is proposed to detect the individual emotions in public *** framework of MEP-AV model consists of four parts,i.e.,data collection module,audio expression analysis module,visual expression analysis module and multimodal fusion *** order to ensure that the emotion perception results meet the requirement of short-term continuity,a Context-Aware decision-Level Fusion(CADLF) model is proposed and applied in multimodal fusion *** CADLF model estimates the affective status by using context information of multimodal *** short-term continuity is considered to improve the accuracy of the emotion perception *** experiment results evaluated by various metrics demonstrate that the performance of the multimodal structure is improved compared with that of unimodal emotion *** MEP-AV model using multimodal fusion algorithm provides the accuracies of70.89% and 77.07% in valence and arousal *** F1-scores reaches 70.2% and 75.6% respectively,indicating the boost performance on emotion perception.

In one-stage methods for video moment retrieval,the common representations indirectly supervised by boundary prediction fail to fully preserve the inherent characteristic of the video and query,which limits the retrieval *** solve this problem,an Adversarial Video Moment Retrieval(AVMR) algorithm is proposed to learn the common representations with modality invariance and cross-modal *** is implemented through the process of adversarial learning between a feature projector and a modality *** feature projector tries to generate a modality-invariant common representation and to confuse the modality *** modality classifier tries to discriminate between different modalities based on the generated representation by the feature *** triplet constraints are further imposed on the feature projector to preserve the underlying cross-modal semantic structure of *** experimental results show that AVMR surpasses the baseline Attentive Cross-modal Relevance Matching(ACRM) by 1.10% and 1.73% in the "mIoU" metric on two public datasets Charades-STA and TACoS,respectively.

In order to enhance the performance of temperature transmitters and facilitate their integration into intelligent and wireless systems, a novel design is proposed, incorporating a pseudo self-balancing electric bridge to achieve a high-precision and wide-range temperature measurement capability. This advanced transmitter not only maximizes the measurement range of thermal resistance but also ensures exceptional temperature accuracy. It seamlessly transfers data to a server through the utilization of the WIFI protocol. Furthermore, the transmitter is equipped with wireless communication capabilities, allowing data transmission through a 4-20mA current loop. The calibration and configuration processes can be conveniently carried out via a USB interface. Rigorous testing validates that the accuracy of the transmitter conforms to the stringent specifications outlined in GB/T 34072-2017 for 0.1-level temperature transmitters. Additionally, when operated with battery power, the transmitter exhibits commendably low average power consumption. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2023.

It is a key challenge for soft grasping devices to stably grasp unstructured objects with multi-size and multi-shape. The conventional single-function grippers have some limitations in grasping the above kinds of objects. This work proposes a modular four-modal soft grasping device(MFSGD), which consists of soft fingers, suction cups, soft wrapper, and other structures. It can perform a variety of grasping modes such as bending grasping mode, wrapping grasping mode, end liftingsucking mode, and side fixed-sucking mode. It may be one of the devices with the most grasping modes at present. Moreover, the device adopts a fully modular design with different structures connected by magnets. It is not only convenient to disassemble or assemble, so as to solve the mutual interference of different modal structures problem during grasping, but also simplifies the fabrication of the multi-modal grasping device. In addition, this work matches the suitable grasping modes for objects of different shapes and sizes, and obtains the relative characteristics of the MFSGD. The proposed device can improve the ability of the grasping robots, and is expected to play an important role in economic and industrial fields.

During super low frequency (SLF) magnetic induction communication, the sensitive antenna carried by autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) is highly susceptible to vibration, resulting in a large amount of noise in communication signals, which seriously affects communication performance. The type of motion-induced noise typically exhibits randomness and nonlinearity. Based on the strong correlation between the motion-induced noise and the antenna's vibration signal, we propose a multi-channel normalized least mean square (MCNLMS) algorithm. The algorithm utilizes the six degrees of freedom vibration acceleration information from both ends of the magnetic antenna as the reference signal input for the canceller, providing more comprehensive information related to motion-induced noise than the single-channel adaptive noise cancellation algorithm. Experimental results indicate that the MCNLMS algorithm demonstrates effective suppression of the motion-induced noise, achieving an average reduction of approximately 7 dB within the 160-170 Hz communication band. Additionally, it exhibits improved stability and faster convergence. © 2024 IEEE.

Lithology identification serves as a crucial foundation for the precise exploration and safe exploitation of geological resources. However, challenges arise from the inherent imbalance and overlap present in logging data, making the accurate identification of lithology a complex task. Addressing these challenges effectively, this paper introduces a novel algorithm, the Error Correcting Output Code algorithm based on Hierarchical Clustering(HC-ECOC). The proposed algorithm initially formulates a coding matrix using distance and overlap measures between class clusters. Subsequently, it extends the length of the coding matrix by considering both the accuracy of the integrated classifier and the diversity among base classifiers. To evaluate the efficacy of the proposed method, comparisons were conducted with alternative algorithms using UCI datasets and an authentic lithology dataset. The results unequivocally demonstrate the superior performance of our algorithm. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

This paper addresses the problem of leader-following consensus in heterogeneous multi-agent systems (HMAS) with input saturation and communication delay. Given the practical differences between leader and follower dimensions, we design virtual leaders to address this problem by allowing actual leaders and followers to communicate with virtual leaders separately, thus enabling indirect communication between actual leaders and followers. Additionally, the control protocol proposed in this paper takes into account the effects of input saturation and time delay that exist in real communication. At last, a simulation example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the designed control protocol. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper,we propose a fully Soft Bionic Grasping Device(SBGD),which has advantages in automatically adjusting the grasping range,variable stiffness,and controllable bending *** device consists of soft gripper structures and a soft bionic bracket *** adopt the local thin-walled design in the soft gripper *** design improves the grippers’bending efficiency,and imitate human finger’s segmental bending *** addition,this work also proposes a pneumatic soft bionic bracket structure,which not only can fix grippers,but also can automatically adjust the grasping space by imitating the human adjacent fingers’opening and closing *** to the above advantages,the SBGD can grasp larger or smaller objects than the regular grasping ***,to grasp small objects reliably,we further present a new Pinching Grasping(PG)*** great performance of the fully SBGD is verified by *** work will promote innovative development of the soft bionic grasping robots,and greatly meet the applications of dexterous grasping multi-size and multi-shape objects.

This paper investigates the containment problem of continuous-time multi-agent systems with multiplicative noises,where the first-order and second-order multi-agent systems are studied *** on stochastic analysis tools,algebraic graph theory,and Lyapunov function method,the containment protocols based the relative states measurement with multiplicative noises are developed to guarantee the mean square and almost sure ***,the sufficient conditions and necessary conditions related to the control gains are derived for achieving mean square and almost sure *** is also shown that multiplicative noises may works positively for the almost sure containment of the first-order multi-agent *** examples are also introduced to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Model and Simulation of Multipath Error in DLL for GPS Receiver

Although different multipath error models of Delay lock loop (DLL) used in GPS receiver are established, they have never been put together for comparison. Furthermore, no universal simulation method is developed to get a fair comparison among these models. A new model with implicate expression is hence proposed for the coherent DLL and the noncoherent Dot-product (DOT) power mode DLL. Meanwhile, a new simulation method based on the anonymous function in Matlab, which is especially suitable for models with implicit expression, is also proposed to compare the new model with the existing ones. The theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the existing models are the special case of the proposed one. The new simulation method can be used for the comparison of different multipath error models and the multipath error analysis of other DLLs for which only the implicit model is available.
