Design optimisation of mean room surface exitance and total corneal illuminance using Monte Carlo simulation

In lighting design,mean room surface exitance(MRSE)has been known as an indicator of the adequacy of illumination in an indoor *** studies have suggested an exponential model relating MRSE and the observer’s retinal *** is particularly applicable in a room with homogenous room surface reflectance and a constant total corneal illuminance,which is the total illuminance received at the ***,accuracy of the exponential model is yet to be assessed in ***,the implication on interior lighting design is also yet to be *** study thus aims to assess the accuracy of the exponential model and to optimise the output *** computations using Monte Carlo simulation are performed for various input variables,followed with sensitivity and uncertainty analyses and *** errors of the exponential model are found between-10%and 6%.The MRSE is highly influenced by surface reflectance,whereas the total corneal illuminance is influenced by the source luminous *** design parameters are obtained by minimising the ratio between total corneal illuminance and ***,this study provides guidelines in lighting design practice for enhancing room spatial brightness while minimising energy use.

Research has been carried out in the form of the synthesis of a thin film of Titanium Dioxide with a mixture of Fluorine and Indium doping. The purpose of this research is to obtain the characteristics of a thin filmphotocatalyst with a crystal structure and optical properties that can be applied to solar cell components. This research was carried out in two stages, namely the synthesis stage and the thin filmcharacterization stage. The TiO2 thin film synthesis stage is through the substrate preparation process, sol-gel solution preparation, thin film deposition, and heating process, while the thin-film characterization stage uses X-Rays Diffraction (XRD) to identify crystal properties and UV-VisSpectrophotometer to determine optical properties of a thin film of TiO2 and TiO2:(F+In). Based on data analysis and discussion, XRD test results showed that the thin film of TiO2:(F+In) has an Anatase phase with a tetragonal shape, and has an average crystal size that is getting smaller from 23.14 to 12.17 nm. Based on the results of research, data analysis, and discussion, it was found that the sample of TiO2 : (F+In) has characteristics that can be used as materials in the development of solar cell components. These characteristics are like 1). havenano-sized particles, 2). have a low transmittance value and high absorbance in absorbing sunlight, and 3). have a low activation energy and energy gap (direct and indirect). © 2022 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd

This study aims to test the use of a causalitic-learning model to encourage problemsolving and creative thinking skills. This study used a non-equivalent control group design. The population was students of class X Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MNS), Public Senior High School (PSHS) 3, the academic year 2018/2019, Mataram, Indonesia. Samples were taken using the purposive sampling technique and obtained by X-MNS-4 class students (33 students, 13 male, 20 female) as the experimental class and X-MNS-5 class students (28 students, 12 male, 16 female) as the control class. The data were taken using essay test questions and analysed using the MANOVA test but previously carried out the Lavene test and the Box's M test (with the help of the SPSS version 23 application). The results of statistical analysis, with a significance level of 0.05, the null hypothesis on both research hypotheses were rejected. The conclusion is that the implementation of the causalitic-model in physics learning on the subject of momentum and impulse affects the improvement of students' problem-solving and creative thinking abilities. Insights on innovation through technology integration, multi-answer phenomenon-based learning to promote creative thinking is also discussed. The implication is important for physics learning which emphasises conceptual understanding. © 2022 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd

The application of ESD in learning believed to be able to plan a better life by changing the mindset of students in learning to live better. This study describes how to infuse ESD to the physics curricula, so hopefully, students can think to live better through learning physics. Descriptive qualitative method used in this study to describe how to do the study of school curriculum course in prospective undergraduate in physics education so that they can insert ESD in the curriculum studies that have been conducted by researchers. Through creative problem solving and the application of creativity fostering behaviour assessment, students can produce ESD-based physics curriculum studies. During this pandemic era, learning becomes inseparable with technology. Online learning can be an alternative in using technology during the current Covid-19 condition. An example is shown through the use of Flip PDF Professional electronic module (e-module). Therefore, this research and development of an e-module on the Introduction to Nuclear physics is carried out. This study aimed to describe the validity of the e-module developed. Research and Development method was selected for this study, and ASSURE model was further implemented with the focus on utilizing the developed instructional material. The instrument used in this study is an e-module validation sheet. The data analysis showed that the developed e-module fell into score of 83.80% which was categorized as "valid"category. Thus, Introduction to Nuclear physics e-module is a suitable teaching material alternative during the Covid-19 pandemic. Further studies are suggested to investigate the practicality and effectiveness of this e-module. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Multicolor microscopy and super-resolution optical microscopy are two widely used techniques that greatly enhance the ability to distinguish and resolve structures in cellular *** methods have individually transformed cellular imaging by allowing detailed visualization of cellular and subcellular structures,as well as organelle ***,integrating multicolor and super-resolution microscopy into a single method remains challenging due to issues like spectral overlap,crosstalk,photobleaching,phototoxicity,and technical *** challenges arise from the conflicting requirements of using different fluorophores for multicolor labeling and fluorophores with specific properties for super-resolution *** propose a novel multicolor super-resolution imaging method called phasor-based fluorescence spatiotemporal modulation(Phasor-FSTM).This method uses time-resolved detection to acquire spatiotemporal data from encoded photons,employs phasor analysis to simultaneously separate multiple components,and applies fluorescence modulation to create super-resolution ***-FSTM enables the identification of multiple structural components with greater spatial accuracy on an enhanced laser scanning confocal microscope using a single-wavelength *** demonstrate the capabilities of Phasor-FSTM,we performed two-color to four-color super-resolution imaging at a resolution of~λ/5 and observed the interactions of organelles in live cells during continuous imaging for a duration of over 20 *** method stands out for its simplicity and adaptability,seamlessly fitting into existing laser scanning microscopes without requiring multiple laser lines for excitation,which also provides a new avenue for other super-resolution imaging technologies based on different principles to build multi-color imaging systems with the requirement of a lower budget.

The purpose of this research was to suggest an applicable procedure for computing the centroid moment tensor(CMT)automatically and in real time from earthquakes that occur in Indonesia and the surrounding *** software was used to estimate the CMT solution by selecting the velocity model that best suited the local and regional geological conditions in Indonesia and the surrounding *** data used in this study were earthquakes with magnitudes of 5.4 to ***-quality,real-time broadband seismographic data were provided by the International Federation of Digital Seismograph Networks Web Services(FDSNWS)and the European Integrated Data Archive(EIDA)Federation in Indonesia and the surrounding ***,the inversion process and filter adjustment were carried out on the seismographic data to obtain good CMT *** CMT solutions from Gisola provided good-quality solutions,in which all earthquake data had A-level quality(high quality,with good variant reduction).The Gisola CMT solution was justified with the Global CMT(GCMT)solution by using the Kagan angle value,with an average of approximately 11.2°.This result suggested that the CMT solution generated from Gisola was trustworthy and *** Gisola CMT solution was typically available within approximately 15 minutes after an earthquake *** it met the quality requirement,it was automatically published on the *** catalog of local and regional earthquake records obtained through this technology holds great promise for improving the current understanding of regional seismic activity and ongoing tectonic *** accurate and real-time CMT solution generated by implementing the Gisola algorithm consisted of moment tensors and moment magnitudes,which provided invaluable insights into earthquakes occurring in Indonesia and the surrounding areas.

One of the developments of online learning device needed to implement distance learning at home is to prepare a Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) for independent learning with a direct learning model to activate students. This study aims to know the validity of RPP of independent learning on Thermodynamics subjects using the direct learning model. The type of this research is research and development, which refers to the 4-D model are defines, designs, develops, and disseminates. The research instrument used in this search was a validation sheet for experts with validation tests in the form of filling out validity questionnaires then analyzed with a Likert scale. The results of the validity test in the research as a whole obtained a percentage of validity from media experts (88%), material experts (91%), and learning experts (92%) with interpretation of the Likert scale included in the criteria very feasible to use. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that the development of RPP of independent learning on Thermodynamics subject using the direct learning model can be applied in physics learning conducted online. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

A study on the use of telescopes has been conducted on high school students. The purpose of this experiment is to find out how much influence the use of a telescope has on student's understanding and learning motivation. In this experiment, the common ground or terrestrial telescopes were used. The experiment used the Class Action Research (PTK) method. Advances in exoplanet research need to be balanced with basic skills in analyzing laws related to the solar system. This study discusses the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning model on exoplanet material in online learning using the Zoom application. In this study, using a pre-test and post-test to determine the effectiveness of the discovery learning model on exoplanet material in online learning. This research method uses experimental methods and uses a qualitative approach. The descriptive type of qualitative method was chosen in this study to collect data about the actual conditions. Data collection techniques in this study used a pre-test and post-test to determine the extent of discovery learning model on exoplanet material in distance learning. In this study used the paired samples T-test. Based on the results of the evaluation that was carried out on 20 students of Public High School 51 in Jakarta, Indonesia using the pre-test and post-test, it was found that discovery learning model on exoplanet materials effective for distance learning. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
