Remote sensing techniques, such as satellite imaging, have become vital for modern applications. The availability of acquiring high-resolution remote sensing images periodically has opened new possibilities for solving problems such as environmental analysis, climate change, and urban development. The study focuses on the performance evaluation of the EuroPlanet dataset which consists of 25,911 high-resolution multispectral satellite images and demonstrates the effectiveness of trained classifiers for land use and land cover classification. Furthermore, it was shown that the trained convolutional neural network can correctly classify the territory of Ukraine in multiple regions where manual observation is impossible due to difficult access. © 2023 IEEE.

In 1907, Lapicque proposed that an electric field passes through the neuronal membrane and transmits a signal. Subsequently, a “snake curve” or spike was used to depict the means by which a linear flat current undergoes a sudden Gaussian or Laplacian peak. This concept has been the accepted scenario for more than 115 years even appearing in textbooks on the subject. It was not noted that the membrane spike should have a cylindrical shape. A nerve spike having a dot shape on membrane surface cannot propagate through a cylindrical surface since it would dissipate instantaneously. A nerve spike should have the appearance of a ring, encompassing the diameter of a cylindrical axon or dendron. However, this subtle change has remarkable implications. Maintaining a circular form of an electric field is not easy, especially at the surface of an organic object. Here, we suggest that neuroscience could redefine itself if we accept that a nerve spike is not a localized 3D Gaussian or Laplacian wave packet, rather it is a 3D ring encompassing the diameter of a neural branch. © 2022 The Author(s). Rationale for this review is the pressing medical and social problem of the posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) treatment. It is known that biofeedback technology is one of the most effective methods of treatment and rehabilitation for emotional profile disorders. In order to develop biofeedback aimed to PTSD rehabilitation, we conducted a literature search on this problem. However, it appears that at the moment there is not enough unambiguous data on this type of biofeedback design. The pathogenesis of PTSD is closely related to impaired efficiency of sensorimotor integration (SMI). The effectiveness of therapy for psychosomatic disorders in patients with PTSD can be increased by restoring normal sensorimotor integration. The review examines various autonomic, electrophysiological and postural markers of destroyed sensorimotor integration (SMI) in individuals with PTSD. We have found that the most informative indicators of SMI in norm include: an increase in EEG power in the individually determined high-frequency alpha subrange, a decrease in the speed of body sway and energy demands to maintain a vertical posture, and a decrease in EMG activity of muscles not involved in cognitive or psychomotor performance. We intend to use these indicators in diagnostic purposes and to develop neurofeedback technology for SMI recovery in patients with PTSD. © 2023 IEEE.

It is not possible to identify crop illnesses by examining each disease independently. Users may only get forecasts for the most anticipated illnesses with the use of a robust analytic methodology. This study presents a method that can collect, analyze, and identify crop health information all on one platform using an IoT and machine learning-based approach. Food security and the provision of essential raw materials for several industries are both supported by agriculture, which is the most important and basic vocation. Improved crop yields, thanks to new innovative agricultural practices, mean less water wasted and more money in the bank. An intelligent irrigation system that uses a machine learning algorithm to forecast a crop’s water needs is the suggested model. One such rapidly evolving invention is the Internet of Things (IoT), which is now spreading its wings across all geographies. Technological innovation is reaching a new level of practicality in agriculture with the rise of embedded PCs like Arduino. Soil quality monitoring using Arduino, several sensors, and an Android app is shown and accomplished in this study. Temperature, soil moisture level, ammonia, and carbon content limit soil quality in this study. Arduino is used as both a worker and an information processing device, and it is in charge of sensor security. The terminal device is an Android phone. Producers may improve agricultural yields by collecting and analyzing data on weather, soil, seed, and yields of crops, moisture, and gusts of wind in specific areas. Furthermore, a flask-built GUI was used to present crop forecasts derived from a bespoke recommender system. Because of its adaptable design, the system may one day be able to discover the suggested items of other areas. This paper proposes an approach to the integration of the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) models for supply chain business process simulation. This approach considers the synergy of Business Process Management (BPM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) concepts both strive to reduce costs and satisfy customers. Therefore, we consider the extension of BPMN-based models with EOQ-driven parameters to simulate supply chain business processes and support decision-making in the context of supply chain management. © 2022, CC BY.

Biomass energy is an important component in the overall structure of renewable energy and has the greatest potential for increasing volumes. However, the peculiarities of the properties of agro-industrial residues are a significant disadvantage of their widespread use. The process of torrefaction allows to bring the characteristics of biofuel as close as possible to thermal coal. Different degree of heat treatment of biomass leads to a product with different heating value. Therefore, it is important to know the optimal mode of torrefaction, which will provide the best energy parameters of biofuels. Researches of torrefaction were carried out on the basis of educational and scientific laboratory "DAK GPS" of the State Agrarian and Engineering University in Podilia. The kinetics of the relative mass of different types of biomass at different processing temperatures was considered. The dependence of the degree of torrefaction on the heat treatment temperature is revealed. As shown by studies for most biomaterials of plant origin, we can distinguish the beginning of intensive transformation and its end, after which there is a sharp slowdown in weight loss, and, accordingly, and the energy density of the samples. © 2021 Serhii Yermakov, Taras Hutsol, Szymon Glowacki, Vadym Hulevskyi, Viktoriia Pylypenko.

Presented paper deals with the topic of preventive maintenance of an power equipment of typical agricultural enterprises. A decision support method was designed, incorporating the analysis of annual schedules of load diagrams of the typical agricultural enterprises and the planning of preventive maintenance of the power equipment with month priority during which maximal consumption of electric energy take place. The correction of typical load diagrams on the basis of the fact sheet about electric loading of the consumer is possible. The designed method optimizes maintenance costs without supplementary investment and running costs. An algorithm of the designed method is offered and a case study of its implementation is described in the paper. © 2021 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The analysis of different designer decisions for the seismic isolation of buildings by realization of the full wave numerical modeling is examined in this chapter. The seismic isolation (isolation of the foundation) is one of methods to increase the seismic stability of a building and reduce consequences from the influence of earthquakes. Application of the full wave computer modeling is studied for the detailed analysis of different approaches to the isolation of the foundation by the analysis of the distribution of seismic waves into the complex heterogeneous structure of a building. High-fidelity numerical methods are used for solving the system of equations describing the spatial dynamic elastic and acoustic wave processes in the elaborate heterogeneous modeling of a building and surrounding geological array. Also, the seismic stability is examined on buildings with different elastic properties, particularly a seismic isolation of surrounding houses, pools, lakes, rivers, cavities, and ground caverns under waters. The proposed study for seismic resistance using the grid-characteristic method was compared with results of numeral experiments based on a videotape recording of building destruction during the earthquake in Mexico happening 19 September, 2017. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
