This paper proposes the application of the recent meta-heuristic method namely Ant Lion Optimizer (ALO) in solving Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch (ORPD) problem. The objective is to minimize the transmission losses by finding the best combination of control variables including generator voltages, transformer tap ratios and reactive compensation devices. This paper presents a hybrid forecasting model namely Grey Wolf Optimizer-Least Squares Support Vector Machines (GWO-LSSVM). In this study, a great deal of attention was paid in determining LSSVM's hyper parameters. For that matter, the GWO is utilized an optimization tool for optimizing the said hyper parameters. Realized in gold price forecasting, the feasibility of GWO-LSSVM is measured based on Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) and Root Mean Square Percentage Error (RMSPE). Upon completing the simulation tasks, the comparison against two hybrid methods suggested that the GWO-LSSVM capable to produce lower forecasting error as compared to the identified forecasting techniques.

The safety of aircraft cannot be analyzed anymore based only on potential hazards and failures. Due to their increasing interconnectivity, modern computersystems are exposed to a variety of security threats. Additionally, complexity of the system may be a source of vulnerabilities opening the system to malicious actions with ultimate impact on safety. Threat Modeling is the technique that assists software engineers to identify and document potential security threats associated with a software product, providing development teams a systematic way of discovering strengths and weaknesses in their software applications. Microsoft's SDL Threat Modeling Tool offers automated analysis of security threats of systems that can be represented using data flow diagrams. The article discusses issues of security in aviation and presents a case study of a realistic cyber-physical system to introduce tool-supported threat modeling method which can be used for unmanned aerial systems security analyses.

Being able to automatically segment 3D models into meaningful parts is an important goal in 3D shape processing. In this paper, we are proposing a fast and easy-to-implement 3D segmentation approach, which is based on spectral clustering. For this purpose, we define an improved formulation of the similarity matrix which allows our algorithm to segment both free-form and CAD (computer Aided Design) 3D models. In 3D space, different shapes, such as planes and cylinders, have different surface normal distributions. We defined the similarity of vertices based on their normals which can segment a 3D model into its geometric features. Results show the effectiveness and robustness of our method in segmenting a wide range of 3D models. Even in the case of complex models, our method results in meaningful segmentations. We tested our segmentation approach on real data segmentation, in the presence of noise and also in comparison with other methods which provided good results in all cases.
