The circulation of wheat products involves a number of different types of food-related enterprises,including planting bases,grain trading companies,warehousing enterprises,food processing plants,sales companies and so *** centralized traceability architecture cannot meet the requirements such as transaction data ***,the distributed traceability architecture faces the difficulty and complexity of information processing for the traceability data stored and managed by different *** order to meet the requirements imposed on distributed data management and diversity of deployment requirements,an EPC(Electronic Product Code) coding scheme is proposed,in addition,based on which we design and implement a distributed wheat products quality traceability system in this *** test indicates that the distributed quality traceability system can track the wheat products quality information in the whole supply chain of wheat products effectively.

Transfer learning aims to leverage the knowledge in the source domain to facilitate the learning tasks in the tar- get domain. It has attracted extensive research interests recently due to its effectiveness in a wide range of applica- Tions. The general idea of the existing methods is to utilize the common latent structure shared across domains as the bridge for knowledge transfer. These methods usually model the common latent structure by using either the marginal distribution or the conditional distribution. However, with- out exploring the duality between these two distributions, these single bridge methods may not achieve optimal capa- bility of knowledge transfer. In this paper, we propose a novel approach, Dual Transfer Learning (DTL), which simultaneously learns the marginal and conditional distributions, and exploits the du- Ality between them in a principled way. The key idea behind DTL is that learning one distribution can help to learn the other. This duality property leads to mutual reinforcement when adapting both distributions across domains to trans- fer knowledge. The proposed method is formulated as an optimization problem based on joint nonnegative matrix tri- factorizations (NMTF). The two distributions are learned from the decomposed latent factors that exhibit the duality property. An efficient alternating minimization algorithm is developed to solve the optimization problem with con- vergence guarantee. Extensive experimental results demon- strate that DTL is more effective than alternative transfer learning methods. Copyright © 2012 by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.

The new paradigm in mobile services lies in providing a location-based user experience and here lies the tremendous scope for expansion of location-based services (LBS). One of the key approaches that have been recognized as an enabler of such a view is policy-based management, which has been mostly acknowledged as a methodology that provides adaptability and support to automatically assign network resources, control Quality of Service and security, by considering administratively specified rules. Whilst current research focuses mostly on rules for low-level device configuration, significant challenges remain to be addressed in order to provide dynamic adaptation of policy in response to changes and ensure that policies will lead to a feasible implementation within the managed environment. In this paper, the emphasis is on building the described environment using today's existing technologies. We use our policy-based framework PobMC to combine mobile (location-based) services, ubiquitous and autonomic computing concepts. The goal is to bring the kind of informationrich environment, which is currently limited to computer screens, to the real world. This is achieved by constructing an architecture based on existing wireless network technologies and Web applications. Location information of destinations and users is computed by the received signal strength indicator (RSSI) values of the Wi-Fi sensors, to provide adaptive services over wireless Web. The users use their mobile devices to access these location-based services.

Most existing works on sensor coverage mainly concentrate on the full coverage models which ensure that all points in the deployment region are covered at the expense of high complexity and cost. In contrast, the exposure-path prevention does not require full coverage sensor deployment, and instead it only needs the partial coverage, because the exposure paths are prevented as long as no moving objects or phenomena can go through a deployment region without being detected. Towards this end, we focus on the partial coverage by applying the percolation theory to solve the exposure path problem for wireless sensor networks. Specifically, we propose a bond-percolation based scheme by mapping the exposure path problem into a bond percolation model. Using this model, we derive the analytical expressions of critical densities for wireless sensor networks under random sensor deployment.

In this work, we address the problem of finding experts using chains of social referrals and profile matching with only local information in online social networks. By assuming that users are selfish, rational, and have privately known cost of participating in the referrals, we design a novel truthful efficient mechanism in which an expert-finding query will be relayed by intermediate users. When receiving a referral request, a participant will locally choose among her neighbors some user to relay the request. In our mechanism, several closely coupled methods are carefully designed to improve the search performance, including, profile matching, social acquaintance prediction, score function for locally choosing relay neighbors, and budget estimation. We conduct extensive experiments on several datasets of online social networks. The extensive study of our mechanism shows that the success rate of our mechanism is about 90% in finding closely matched experts using only local search and limited budget, which significantly improves the previously best rate 20%. The overall cost of finding an expert by our truthful mechanism is about 20% of the untruthful method and only about 2% of the method that always selects high-degree neighbors. The median length of social referral chains is 6 using our localized search decision, which surprisingly matches the well-known small-world phenomenon of global social structures.

With rapid improvements and miniaturization in hardware, sensor nodes equipped with acoustic and visual information collection modules promise an unprecedented opportunity for target surveillance applications. This paper investigates a critical task of target surveillance, multi-class classification, in distributed multimedia sensor networks. We first analyze the procedure of target classification utilizing the acoustic and visual information. Then, we propose a binary classification tree based framework for distributed target classification in multimedia sensor networks. The proposed framework includes three main components: Generation of binary classification tree, Division of binary classification tree, and Selection of multimedia sensor nodes. Finally, we conduct an experimental application of target classification and extensive simulations to validate and evaluate our proposed framework and related schemes.

Using insights from biological processes could help to design new optimization techniques for long-standing computational problems. This paper exploits a cellular computing model in the slime mold physarum polycephalum to solve the minimal exposure path problem which is a fundamental problem corresponding to the worst-case coverage in wireless sensor networks. We first formulate the minimal exposure path problem, and then convert it into the shortest path problem by discretizing the monitoring field to a large-scale weighted grid. Inspired by the path-finding capability of physarum, we develop a new optimization algorithm, named as the physarum optimization, for solving the shortest path problem. Our proposed algorithm is with low-complexity and high-parallelism. Moreover, the core mechanism of our physarum optimization is also helpful for designing new graph algorithms and improving routing protocols and topology control in self-organized networks.

This paper presents an investigation on how different walking surfaces affect gait identification based on accelerometer data. Accelerometer data of 5 subjects walking on 4 different solid surfaces was acquired on 3 different days by a cell phone placed on the subject's hip. Data analysis detects gait cycles by a method based on wavelet transform. For all gait cycles, features were calculated by using higher-order statistics. Similarity estimation for discerning the different subjects and surfaces was introduced by using principal component analysis (PCA). It proved that the different solid surfaces do not influence the efficiency of the identification of subjects based on their gait. © 2011 IEEE.

Most recently much effort has been made to address Internet "ossification" by exploiting network virtualization technique. It allows multiple virtual networks to share the physical substrate for delivering customized services via heterogenous protocols or mechanisms. Recent advances enable virtual routers to flexibly migrate across multiple physical routers without interrupting network operation. With this recognition, this paper takes a further step by proposing a novel algorithmic approach to optimize network load balancing as well as resource utilization. The suggested approach is assessed through extensive simulation experiments against two other algorithmic solutions for a range of network scenarios (e.g. dense and sparse networks). The numerical result shows its effectiveness in providing the best trade-off of network load balancing and resource utilization whilst minimizing the communication overheads.

The paper presents a method for monitoring heartbeats based on time-frequency analysis of optic interferometric signal by using smoothed pseudo Wigner-Ville distribution. Optical interferometer is a sensitive device that detects physical changes of the length of optical fibre. When put in mattress, heartbeats of a subject lying on the fibre causes its perturbation. This allows entirely unobtrusive and continuous monitoring of subject's heart rate by processing interferometric signal. Reference ECG signals were acquired in order to verify recognition rate and accuracy of proposed method. An experiment with 6 subjects was performed. Interferometric and referential signals were acquired simultaneously for about 60 s. The obtained results show high recognition rate (about 97% with persons breathing and 98% with persons holding their breath).
