In many cases, students become stressed and they become worried about their study, which in terms become a great impediment to their learning capability. This paper proposes new framework of intelligent game model based on biofeedback techniques. The model consists of two modules (visual learning and IQ test) that will conjoined with a biofeedback device connected to a computer to monitor student heart rate and record its changes in a stressful situation and generate appropriate reports. The two games have different purpose to serve. Visual learning games will improve learner's visual learning capability, memorizing capability and IQ test will improve analytical ability. © 2010 IEEE.

Managing context in Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) environments is challenging due to environmental characteristics and limitations. Different aspects of context management such as location management, context acquisition, context quality management, context discovery and other related tasks need to be dealt with to provide reliable context management support. In this paper, we propose a new approach to context management in the MANET environments. We model contexts and situations based on Context Spaces (CS) theory and the Dempster-Shafer (DS) theory of evidences. A heuristic approach to computing the relevancy value of context information to the defined situation of context-aware applications is also proposed and developed. The relevancy value is then incorporated in the fusion mechanism based on the discount rule. We have developed a hybrid location model and integrated the approach to the model. The prototype of the framework is built based on the On-Demand Multicast Routing Protocol (ODMRP) as the underlying messaging protocol among the collaborative hosts. Finally, the implementation and experimentation issues of the prototype are discussed. © 2010 ACM.

The Ethernet-based network protocol is widely using in industrial environments. Its advantages include high speed, high performance, operation over long distances, and better interoperability. A number of techniques are used to implement the Ethernet protocol for the needs of industrial processes that must provide real time processes. This paper analyses network performance of an Embedded system based master using EtherCAT. The network performance characteristics of the Embedded systems are compared by considering into the factors affecting their performance in a network system. This may determine reasons why network performance differs between factors. ©ICROS.

This paper describes the evolution of a software testing effort during a critical period for the flagship Mars Science Laboratory rover project at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Formal specification for post-run analysis of log files, using a domain-specific language, LogScope, replaced scripted real-time analysis. Log analysis addresses the key problems of on-the-fly approaches and cleanly separates specification and execution. Mining the test repository suggested the inadequacy of the scripted approach, and encouraged a partly engineer-driven development. LogScope development should hold insights for others facing the tight deadlines and reactionary nature of testing for critical projects. LogScope received a JPL Mariner Award for "improving productivity and quality of the MSL Flight software" and has been discussed as an approach for other flight missions. We note LogScope features that most contributed to ease of adoption and effectiveness. LogScope is general and can be applied to any software producing logs. © 2010 ACM.

Nowadays, Tension or Stress is a common and serious problem in our Global Village. Stress and stress related factors contribute to tension and reduced ability to handle life's everyday challenges. This paper proposes a new method to reduce the stress and tension of our life and also proves that mentally, spiritually and physically relaxation can be achieved by the recitation of the holy Quran. In this technique of listening, reading and watching the text of the Holy Quran subject (User) can involve the whole body. The entire process will be controlled by brain, as a result during this practice the whole body will receive relaxation/refreshment, and the exhaustion, boring and tiredness will be finished. This physiological biofeedback manner provides groceries for spirit. Hence this means can be used in hospitals for mentally disturb and depression effected patients, for relaxation of the soldiers, for refreshing the students, to cool down workers in industries and for the entertainment of passengers in buses and airplanes. This approach replaces negative thoughts with positive and truthful thoughts.

Palacios is a new open-source VMM under development at Northwestern University and the University of New Mexico that enables applications executing in a virtualized environment to achieve scalable high performance on large machines. Palacios functions as a modularized extension to Kitten, a high performance operating system being developed at Sandia National Laboratories to support large-scale supercomputing applications. Together, Palacios and Kitten provide a thin layer over the hardware to support full-featured virtualized environments alongside Kitten's lightweight native environment. Palacios supports existing, unmodified applications and operating systems by using the hardware virtualization technologies in recent AMD and Intel processors. Additionally, Palacios leverages Kitten's simple memory management scheme to enable low-overhead pass-through of native devices to a virtualized environment. We describe the design, implementation, and integration of Palacios and Kitten. Our benchmarks show that Palacios provides near native (within 5%), scalable performance for virtualized environments running important parallel applications. This new architecture provides an incremental path for applications to use supercomputers, running specialized lightweight host operating systems, that is not significantly performance-compromised.

Traffic congestion is the cause of pollution and economic loss. The Real time traffic state report can alleviate this problem by assisting drivers for route planning and choosing unblocked roads. More traffic information could lead to more accurate route planning and greater awareness of traffic situations and road conditions for drivers. However, investment into sensor infrastructure for small minor roads is rarely available. In this paper, we present a cost efficient approach to compute real time traffic congestion degrees for non-sensor infrastructure roads, such as small minor roads, based on context fusion and context reasoning method. Our framework intends to utilize real time acquirable context instead of relying on traffic sensory data which made our approach suitable for insufficient sensor infrastructure environment. The evaluation throughout several experimentations conducted in Bangkok has proven the feasibility of our approach. Besides, the experimental result indicated that the methodology of our experiment can be used as an alternative cost efficient tool for infrastructure investment decision making. ©2010 IEEE.
