The Aviation Scenario Definition Language (ASDL) has been proposed as a domain-specific language providing a well-structured definition language to specify departure, enroute, re-route, and landing scenarios. Exploiting the capabilities of Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF), ASDL provides a holistic conceptual metamodel construct to define all entities, attributes, and relationships needed to specify a complete flight scenario. Representing scenario models graphically, increases effectiveness of communication by providing fast, easy, and accurate method of transferring information among interested parties. It is well known that graphical diagrams are more effective than text in the communication between end-users and/or domain experts. As such, models are majorly delivered graphically and supported by graphical design and editing tools. In order to provide an easy-to-use drag and drop framework to construct flight scenario models, here we present a graphical modeling and editing interface to ASDL. The proposed graphical scenario specification tool is developed using EMF Forms within EMF which provides a rapid mechanism to develop tools for modelling languages. The effort presented here will provide a graphical modeling and editing tool to specify ASDL flight scenarios while automatically validating user input and providing consistency and completeness checking. Backed by model-driven approach, the graphical modeling interface will hide all the ASDL language development details, making the tool suitable for non-developers such as pilots and air traffic controllers. This paper will include details on building the graphical framework with Eclipse Modeling Framework. We provide the detailed components of the generated GUI, highlighting the tool’s capabilities and user’s interactions. Complex resource allocation systems provide the fundamental support for the normal functioning and well being of the modern society. Computationally and mathematically, such systems can be modeled as minority games. A ubiquitous dynamical phenomenon is the spontaneous emergence of herding, where a vast majority of the users concentrate on a small number of resources. From an operational point of view, herding is of grave concern as the few overused resources can be depleted quickly, directing users to the next few resources and causing them to fail, and so on, and eventually leading to a catastrophic collapse of the whole system in short time. To devise strategies to prevent herding from occurring is thus of interest. Previous works focused on control strategies that rely on external interventions, such as pinning control where a fraction of users are forced to choose a certain action. Is it possible to eliminate herding without any external control? The main point of this paper is to provide an affirmative answer through exploiting artificial intelligence (AI). In particular, we demonstrate that, when agents are empowered with reinforced learning (e.g., the popular Q-learning in AI) in that they get familiar with the unknown game environment gradually and attempt to deliver the optimal actions to maximize the payoff, herding can effectively be eliminated. Furthermore, computations reveal the striking phenomenon that, regardless of the initial state, the system evolves persistently and relentlessly toward the optimal state in which all resources are used efficiently. However, the evolution process is not without interruptions: there are large fluctuations that occur but only intermittently in time. The statistical distribution of the time between two successive fluctuating events is found to depend on the parity of the evolution, i.e., whether the number of time steps in between is odd or even. With the rapid development of Internet of Things and data interactive processing technologies, the application of Internet of Things in marine field is emerging. In the face of big oceanic data from various sensors, a model of multi-sensor interaction and data processing is proposed in this paper. On the basis of this model, an oceanic data processing algorithm based on back propagation neural network data fitting is proposed, which can be used for various types of oceanic data. In order to make the data more intuitive and improve the efficiency of data processing, we design a basic model of oceanic data visualization concluding the graphical display and processing. In this model, the standard file will be generated finally through the effective data processing. Through the comparison and analysis of experimental results, it's shown that the algorithm achieves better optimization. And the model of data interaction and visualization are suitable and reasonable in practical application.

This paper discusses the development of a testbed for real-time experimental studies of time-modulated arrays. The proposed architectural design will be described, and the current state of progress will be presented through simulation and over-the-air tests conducted in a lab. The TMA antennas and radios are designed to operate at about 2.3 GHz for a target application of passive radar using XM Radio, in which the TMA capabilities will be targeted at multibeaming and interference suppression.

The Local Binary Pattern (LBP) texture descriptor and some of its variant descriptors have been successfully used for texture classification and for a few other tasks such as face recognition, facial expression, and texture segmentation. However, these descriptors have been barely used for image categorisation because their calculations are based on the gray image and they are only invariant to monotonic light variations on the gray level. These descriptors ignore colour information despite their key role in distinguishing the objects and the natural scenes. In this paper, we enhance the Completed Local Binary Pattern (CLBP), an LBP variant with an impressive performance on texture classification. We propose five multiscale colour CLBP (CCLBP) descriptors by incorporating five different colour information into the original CLBP. By using the Oliva and Torralba (OT8) and Event sport datasets, our results attest to the superiority of the proposed CCLBP descriptors over the original CLBP in terms of image categorisation.

In this brief, we present a formation control algorithm for multiagent systems in realistic communication environments. The proposed design is motivated by the flocking algorithm in with the utilization of a new communication outage probability-dependent collective potential function in the derivation of the formation control algorithm. Upon convergence, it can be shown that all agents achieve formation flocking and maintain the desired inter agent distances determined by allowable maximum outage probability.

In this paper, we propose an efficient transfer leaning methods for training a personalized language model using a recurrent neural network with long short-term memory architecture. With our proposed fast transfer learning schemes, a general language model is updated to a personalized language model with a small amount of user data and a limited computing resource. These methods are especially useful for a mobile device environment while the data is prevented from transferring out of the device for privacy purposes. Through experiments on dialogue data in a drama, it is verified that our transfer learning methods have successfully generated the personalized language model, whose output is more similar to the personal language style in both qualitative and quantitative aspects. © Copyright 2017, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). I/O is becoming one of major performance bottlenecks in NAND-flash-based mobile devices. Novel nonvolatile memories (NVMs), such as phase change memory and spin-transfer torque random access memory, can provide fast read/write operations. In this paper, we propose a unified NVM/flash architecture to improve the I/O performance. A transparent scheme, virtualized flash (vFlash), is also proposed to manage the unified architecture. Within vFlash, interapp and intra-app techniques are proposed to optimize the application performance by exploiting the historical locality and I/O access patterns of applications. Since vFlash is on the bottom of the I/O stack, the application features will be lost. Therefore, we also propose a cross-layer technique to transfer the application information from the application layer to the vFlash layer. The proposed scheme is evaluated based on an Android platform, and the experimental results show that the proposed scheme can effectively improve the I/O performance of mobile devices. © 1982-2012 IEEE.

We present a novel cross-view classification algorithm where the gallery and probe data come from different views. A popular approach to tackle this problem is the multiview subspace learning (MvSL) that aims to learn a latent subspace shared by multi-view data. Despite promising results obtained on some applications, the performance of existing methods deteriorates dramatically when the multi-view data is sampled from nonlinear manifolds or suffers from heavy outliers. To circumvent this drawback, motivated by the Divideand-Conquer strategy, we propose Multi-view Hybrid Embedding (MvHE), a unique method of dividing the problem of cross-view classification into three subproblems and building one model for each subproblem. Specifically, the first model is designed to remove view discrepancy, whereas the second and third models attempt to discover the intrinsic nonlinear structure and to increase discriminability in intra-view and interview samples respectively. The kernel extension is conducted to further boost the representation power of MvHE. Extensive experiments are conducted on four benchmark datasets. Our methods demonstrate overwhelming advantages against the stateof-the-art MvSL based cross-view classification approaches in terms of classification accuracy and robustness. Compositional Abstractions of Interconnected Discrete-Time Stochastic Control systems

This paper is concerned with a compositional approach for constructing abstractions of interconnected discretetime stochastic control systems. The abstraction framework is based on new notions of so-called stochastic simulation functions, using which one can quantify the distance between original interconnected stochastic control systems and their abstractions in the probabilistic setting. Accordingly, one can leverage the proposed results to perform analysis and synthesis over abstract interconnected systems, and then carry the results over concrete ones. In the first part of the paper, we derive sufficient small-gain type conditions for the compositional quantification of the distance in probability between the interconnection of stochastic control subsystems and that of their abstractions. In the second part of the paper, we focus on the class of discrete-Time linear stochastic control systems with independent noises in the abstract and concrete subsystems. For this class of systems, we propose a computational scheme to construct abstractions together with their corresponding stochastic simulation functions. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results by constructing an abstraction (totally 4 dimensions) of the interconnection of four discrete-Time linear stochastic control subsystems (together 100 dimensions) in a compositional fashion.
