Modulation of Asymmetric Magnetic Domain-Wall Motion via Noncolinear Interlayer Exchange Coupling

The search of scalable approach to design field-free deterministic switching is currently a key challenge. Here, we investigate current and magnetic driven magnetization switching in a T-type magnetic heterojunction with a structure composed by a hybrid synthetic antiferromagnet (SAF) Co/Ta/CoTb/Pt, where the bottom Co layer has in-plane magnetic anisotropy (IMA) and the top CoTb layer has perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA). The interlayer exchange coupling (IEC) interaction allows a tilted easy axis of the perpendicular CoTb layer. The main result achieved is the field-free magnetization switching driven by spin-orbit torque (SOT) with a switching direction (clockwise or counterclockwise), which can be controlled by the in-plane direction of the Co magnetization. Meanwhile, we demonstrate that the IEC also induces the asymmetric bubble expansion in the CoTb layer in field-driven experiments and favors the propagation of the domain walls (DWs) with internal magnetization antiparallel to the in-plane IEC field. Our results demonstrate versatile control of the DW motion by noncollinear IEC, which paves a potential way for designing energy-efficient spintronic memory and logic devices, as well as provides a promising and high-efficiency approach for detecting the IEC type by magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE) in T-type magnetic heterojunction. © 1965-2012 IEEE.

The task of detecting fraud in credit card transactions is crucial to ensure the security and stability of a financial system, as well as to enforce customer confidence in digital payment systems. Historically, credit card companies have used rule-based approaches to detect fraudulent transactions, but these have proven inadequate due to the complexity of fraud strategies and have been replaced by much more powerful solutions based on machine learning or deep learning algorithms. Despite significant progress, the current approaches to fraud detection suffer from a number of limitations: for example, it is unclear whether some transaction features are more effective than others in discriminating fraudulent transactions, and they often neglect possible correlations among transactions, even though they could reveal illicit behaviour. In this paper, we propose a novel credit card fraud detection (CCFD) method based on a transaction behaviour-based hierarchical gated network. First, we introduce a feature-oriented extraction module capable of identifying key features from original transactions, and such analysis is effective in revealing the behavioural characteristics of fraudsters. Second, we design a transaction-oriented extraction module capable of capturing the correlation between users' historical and current transactional behaviour. Such information is crucial for revealing users' sequential behaviour patterns. Our approach, called transactional-behaviour-based hierarchical gated network model (TbHGN), extracts two types of new transactional features, which are then combined in a feature interaction module to learn the final transactional representations used for CCFD. We have conducted extensive experiments on a real-world credit card transaction dataset with an increase in average F1 between 1.42% and 6.53% and an improvement in average AUC between 0.63% and 2.78% over the state of the art. © 2025 Institute of electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. In recent years, as people’s living standards have improved and consumption concepts have been transformed, the demand for purchasing consumer electronics online has continued to grow, further stimulating the development of the logistics industry. Consequently, how to deliver consumer electronics to households at minimal cost has become a crucial factor that limits the development of the consumer technology industry. To tackle this problem, this paper studies the task assignment problem for multiple initially dispersed UAVs to deliver products to target locations while minimizing their total operation time. Each UAV can continuously provide delivery services to multiple target locations within its limited loading capacity and operation time. To solve this problem, we propose several hybrid multipopulation genetic algorithms. First, a novel crossover operator for the genetic algorithms is designed, through which a single parent chromosome can generate offspring individually. Second, two mutation mechanisms are performed to increase gene diversity. Third, multiple local search strategies are employed to enhance the populations’ fitness during each iteration of evolution. An improved 2-opt local search strategy is applied to optimize individual chromosomes when their similarity with the current best chromosome falls below a prescribed threshold. Alternatively, local search strategies are utilized for 1-opt, 2h-opt and interchange processes. Combining local search strategies, genetic operators, and the multi-population mechanism leads to several hybrid multi-population genetic algorithms. Numerical simulations and experimental tests demonstrate that the hybrid multi-population genetic algorithm, integrated with the improved 2-opt and 1-opt local search strategies, exhibits superior performance among the designed hybrid genetic algorithms, the minimum marginal cost algorithm (MMA), and the existing popular Co-evolutionary Multi-population Genetic Algorithm (CMGA). The increasing deployment of unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) require computational support and coverage in applications such as maritime search and rescue. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can offer low-cost, flexible aerial services, and ground stations (GSs) can provide powerful supports, which can cooperate to help the USVs in complex scenarios. However, the collaboration between UAVs and GSs for USVs faces challenges of task uncertainties, USVs trajectory uncertainties, heterogeneities, and limited computational resources. To address these issues, we propose a cooperative UAV and GS based robust multi-access edge computing framework to assist USVs in completing computational tasks. Specifically, we formulate the optimization problem of joint task offloading and UAV trajectory to minimize the total execution time, which is in the form of mixed integer nonlinear programming and NP-hard to tackle. Therefore, we propose the algorithm of generative artificial intelligence-enhanced heterogeneous agent proximal policy optimization (GAI-HAPPO). The proposed algorithm integrates GAI models to enhance the actor network ability to model complex environments and extract high-level features, thereby allowing the algorithm to predict uncertainties and adapt to dynamic conditions. Additionally, GAI stabilizes the critic network, addressing the instability of multi-agent reinforcement learning approaches. Finally, extensive simulations demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing benchmark methods, thus highlighting the potentials in tackling intricate, cross-domain issues in the considered scenarios.

Developing force control mechanisms employing electromagnetic solutions is on the rise in active control applications for flexible mechanical systems, like marine engines and shipboard machinery. Electromagnetic control devices offer superior performance indicators compared to traditional mechanical force actuators in terms of longevity, energy efficiency, maintenance requirements, rapid control response, and high operating speeds. This article investigates the use of magnetic actuation and switching power electronics in addressing the stabilization and tracking control challenges encountered in the dynamics of a mechanical system with a single degree of freedom, comprising mass, spring, and damper elements. Particularly, a linear mechanical oscillator is nonlinearly coupled with an electromagnet and its associated driving circuit via the magnetic field. The electromagnetically actuated mechanical system exhibits characteristics of a deferentially flat nonlinear system. A control strategy is suggested for the purpose of tracking reference position trajectories using output feedback linearization. The synthetic linearized control signal is subsequently guided to a DC–DC buck converter, able to regulate the system's input voltage in a wide range of operation, by switching the duty cycle. The converter is described using a precise electrical model of the system, accounting for parasitic resistances in the inductor, capacitor, and switches. An averaged state space approach is utilized to create a mathematical nonlinear model for the converter which is then linearized by employing the Exact Feedback Linearization technique. By applying optimal control theory, the controller's coefficients are fine-tuned for optimal performance. To assess the proposed method's performance, the dynamics of the compensated mechatronic system is simulated using MATLAB/Simulink. This research aims to conduct an exergy, economic, and environmental analysis of a 6.57 kW_p rooftop photovoltaic (PV) power plant that combines different PV technologies, comprising 2 kW_p of poly-crystalline (p-Si), 1.87 kW_p of mono-crystalline (m-Si), and 2.7 kW_p of thin-film amorphous silicon (a-Si) technologies. A comprehensive assessment was conducted to evaluate the environmental and techno-economic parameters of a PV plant system. This study is based on the performance data obtained over four years of energy production under the weather conditions of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The embodied energy required for the manufacturing of the PV power plant was estimated using embodied energy indices available in the literature. Additionally, a detailed economic evaluation was conducted based on the electricity costs in Malaysia. Moreover, the environmental impact was assessed over the plant’s life cycle, considering the emission factors of coal power plants. Results indicate that the exergy payback time for the different technologies i.e., m-Si, p-Si, a-Si, when operated individually, and when combined within a single PV system, are found to be ~, and years, respectively. Over its life cycle, it was found that the PV plant emits about. Emission breakdown analysis has revealed that the manufacturing process of the m-Si, p-Si, a-Si, and the monitoring systems contribute to,,, and of emissions, respectively. However, the PV power plant could offset about annually, equivalent to the emission of a car over approximately 3 years. This study offers critical insights into the exergy efficiency, environmental impact, and economic viability of a grid-connected rooftop PV power plant that integrates multiple PV technologies under tropical climate conditions. © The Author(s) 2025.

Optimal Sensor Placement for Full-Set TDOA Localization Accounting for Sensor Location Errors

The positioning accuracy of a signal source is influenced by where the sensors are deployed. Studies in the literature for the optimal sensor placement (OSP) of localization often ignore the presence of sensor position errors. In practice, however, it is impossible to place the sensors precisely at the desired locations. This work designs OSP by accounting for the presence of Gaussian sensor position errors that are independent and identically distributed (IID), with the full set of Time Difference of Arrival measurements corrupted by Gaussian IID noise. The criterion is the A-optimality equal to the trace of the source position Cramer-Rao Bound (CRB). We show that the presence of sensor position errors introduces a multiplication factor to the same criterion for the case without sensor position errors. The latter factor is dependent on the ratio of the sensor position error power to the range difference noise power but independent of the sensor positions, implying that the A-optimality OSP in the presence of sensor position errors is the same as in the absence. To our knowledge, this is the first time such results have been derived. Simulation studies validate the derived OSP, show the minimal OSP performance gap with sensor positioning error and without, and illustrate the better source localization accuracy by OSP. © 1965-2011 IEEE.

Representation learning for post-mapping (PM) netlists is a critical challenge in Electronic Design Automation (EDA), driven by the diverse and complex nature of modern circuit designs. Existing approaches focus on intermediate representations like And-Inverter Graphs (AIGs), limiting their applicability to post-synthesis stages. We introduce DeepCell, a multiview representation learning framework that integrates structural and functional insights from both PM netlists and AIGs to learn rich, generalizable embeddings. At its core, DeepCell employs the novel Mask Circuit Modeling (MCM) mechanism, which refines PM netlist representations in a self-supervised manner using pretrained AIG encoders. DeepCell sets a new benchmark in PM netlist representation, outperforming existing methods in predictive accuracy and reconstruction fidelity. To validate its efficacy, we apply DeepCell to functional engineering Change Orders (ECO), achieving significant reductions in patch generation costs and runtime while improving patch quality. Joint Secure and Covert Communications for Active STAR-RIS Assisted ISAC systems

This paper investigates the design of jointly supporting physical layer security (PLS) and covert communications (CCs) in an active simultaneously transmitting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surface (a-STAR-RIS) assisted integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) system. Due to the unified waveform design of ISAC signals, we consider a challenging scenario with two targets being suspicious attackers, where one warden target potentially detects the confidential transmission behavior of covert users and another eavesdropper target attempts to intercept the broadcasted confidential information of security users. We investigate the joint beamforming design at the base station (BS) and the a-STAR-RIS to achieve a high-quality sensing beampattern while meeting covertness and security communication requirements. (1) For the ideal scenario with perfect channel state information (CSI) and precise target locations, we propose an alternative optimization (AO) method to address the optimization problem involving highly coupled variables. Specifically, the optimal beamforming design at the BS is handled using the semi-definite relaxation (SDR) technique, while the beamforming design at the a-STAR-RIS is addressed through a penalty-based iterative algorithm. (2) A more practical case with uncertain target locations and imperfect CSI is considered to achieve a robust beamforming design, where the non-deterministic outage probability constraints are effectively transformed by employing the Bernstein-type inequality. Numerical results demonstrate the superiority of the a-STAR-RIS over the baseline cases and certify that the proposed algorithms can effectively balance the tradeoff among the sensing quality, covert and secure communication requirements. Besides, results also show that the proposed robust beamforming scheme can construct adequate sensing beampattern, even with imperfect CSI and uncertain target locations. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

This study conducts a comparative analysis of the performance of ten novel and wellperforming metaheuristic algorithms for parameter estimation of solar photovoltaic models. This optimization problem involves accurately identifying parameters that reflect the complex and nonlinear behaviours of photovoltaic cells affected by changing environmental conditions and material inconsistencies. This estimation is challenging due to computational complexity and the risk of optimization errors, which can hinder reliable performance predictions. The algorithms evaluated include the Crayfish Optimization Algorithm, the Golf Optimization Algorithm, the Coati Optimization Algorithm, the Crested Porcupine Optimizer, the Growth Optimizer, the Artificial Protozoa Optimizer, the Secretary Bird Optimization Algorithm, the Mother Optimization Algorithm, the Election Optimizer Algorithm, and the Technical and Vocational Education and Training-Based Optimizer. These algorithms are applied to solve four well-established photovoltaic models: the singlediode model, the double-diode model, the triple-diode model, and different photovoltaic module models. The study focuses on key performance metrics such as execution time, number of function evaluations, and solution optimality. The results reveal significant differences in the efficiency and accuracy of the algorithms, with some algorithms demonstrating superior performance in specific models. The Friedman test was utilized to rank the performance of the various algorithms, revealing the Growth Optimizer as the top performer across all the considered models. This optimizer achieved a root mean square error of 9.8602187789E−04 for the single-diode model, 9.8248487610E−04 for both the double-diode and triplediode models and 1.2307306856E−02 for the photovoltaic module model. This consistent success indicates that the Growth Optimizer is a strong contender for future enhancements aimed at further boosting its efficiency and effectiveness. Its
