Accidental falls are the major causes of injury among elderly people living alone. However, traditional fall detection algorithms usually have missed or false detections problems. In this paper, we design a fall detection system based on YOLO algorithm and MobileNetV2 model. First, detection frame coordinates and joint coordinates of the human body are fused as feature information, and background information is filtered out. A lightweight deep learning model, MobileNetV2, is then used for classification. Compared with commonly used lightweight classification models such as ShuffleNet and EfficientNet, the MobileNetV2 model performs better in recognizing fall behavior. Our system can effectively distinguish fall behavior from daily activities, meeting the requirements for fall detection. © 2024 IEEE.

In the optical-based measurement of the speed of sound in seawater, considering the influence of the measurement system and the media environment, the signal is embodied as a noise signal with acoustic markers in addition to the signal, especially when the SNR of the signal is low, which poses a great challenge to the subsequent time-of-flight analysis of ultrasound, thus seriously affecting the accuracy of the results of the speed of sound measurements, and it is necessary to suppress the noise. In this paper, we propose a noise reduction method based on Improved Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition with Adative Noise (ICEEMDAN)-gray correlation. The noise-containing optical signal is decomposed into a series of IMF components and residuals using ICEEMDAN, and then the gray correlation between each IMF component and the original signal is used as the demarcation point for dividing it into noise-dominant and signal-dominant parts, and the IMF components and residuals in the signal-dominant part are reconstructed to get the noise-reduced signal at last. The relative performance of the algorithm is evaluated on experimental data, for low SNR 9dB acousto-optic signal after the algorithm the SNR is improved to 34.6861dB and compared with the existing methods, the combined data results show that the method is superior to the existing methods with higher SNR, NCC and lower MSE. © 2024 SPIE.

The main problem in dry-type transformers for new energy applications is the frequent temperature changes, which can reach temperatures of up to 180°C in actual operation. Due to the different expansion coefficients between epoxy resin and copper rows in dry-type transformers, the sealing of epoxy resin will be destroyed, leading to serious consequences such as dry-type transformer fire and explosion. For this reason, this paper designs a new energy dry-type transformer prediction device for transformer temperature and partial discharge signal monitoring and fault alarm, and studies the application of high-frequency current transformer (HFCT) in partial discharge monitoring to achieve real-time monitoring of transformer operation status. Finite element simulation software was used to analyze a dry-type transformer's simulation model. The simulation data obtained were then verified through real experimental testing. In the real grid system, simulations were conducted to model turn-to-turn short-circuit faults. The aim was to validate the simulation results and determine the required monitoring devices. The effectiveness of different monitoring methods-HFCT (High-Frequency Current Transformer), ultrasonic, ultra-high-frequency (UHF), and ground wave detection-was compared. It was found that HFCT is more effective than the other three methods in monitoring dry-type transformers. © 2024 IEEE.

The study investigates the challenges posed by' partial shading conditions' (PSCs) on a performance and efficiency of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The primary goal is to find the best photovoltaic array setup to optimize power output while reducing efficiency losses caused by mismatching. The researchers evaluate various PV configurations such as Series (S), Series-Parallel (SP), Total Cross Tied (TCT), Bridge Linked (BL), Honey Comb (HC), and a hybrid of TCT and BL called TCT-BL, focusing on a 4x4 array layout. Six different shading patterns are examined, including diagonal, 'short and narrow', 'short and wide', 'long and narrow', 'long and wide', and random. Based on simulations using Matlab/Simulink and a 130W PV module model, the study suggests that the TCT-BL configuration offers superior power generation, efficiency, and reduced mismatching loss compared to other configurations under most PSCs examined. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid development of photovoltaic power generation, the fault of photovoltaic array is receiving increasing attention. In response to this issue, proposes an online monitoring photovoltaic array fault diagnosis algorithm based on Support Vector Machines. Firstly, collect the voltage and current of the photovoltaic array for feature extraction. Next, the extracted feature data is normalized and input into a SVM to train the classifier and identify and judge the faults that occur. In the experiment, simulation datasets were used for testing, and online detection and verification were conducted on the real datasets generated by the actual prototype. The results showed that this method can effectively diagnose photovoltaic array faults, with high accuracy and reliability. The online detection photovoltaic array fault diagnosis method based on support vector machine proposed in this paper has high fault detection rate and accuracy, which can provide technical support and guarantee for the maintenance and management of photovoltaic power generation system. © 2024 IEEE.

Cooperative target tracking in sensor networks involves optimizing tracking performance by leveraging various sensor types. Brain-controlled system has been used in assisting disabilities, and how to enable such groups to have the ability to communicate with the surroundings has become the focus of research. However, due to the individual differences and the dynamic time-varying brain states, the fixed time window used in the traditional Filter Bank Canonical Correlation Analysis (FBCCA) algorithm for Steady-State Visual Evoked Potential-based Brain-Computer Interface (SSVEP-BCI) is not optimal, which limits its generalizability. Therefore, in this paper, based on the SSVEP experimental paradigm, we propose an improved FBCCA algorithm with dynamic window based on the difference level between correlation coefficients. Compared with the traditional FBCCA algorithm, the accuracy is significantly improved. Furthermore, this paper designs a BCI-based robotic arm control system, achieving real-time and precise object grasping. This validates the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. Our findings may provide a theoretical basis and technical support for the practical application of BCI. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to solve the problem of insufficient samples of near-shore synthetic aperture radar data in ship detection, a ship synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image data augmentation model based on generative adversarial network was designed in this ***, this study combines image fusion and data enhancement to design an Image Fusion Concurrent-Single-Image-GAN model (IF-SinConGAN).This model first fuses offshore ship images with nearshore scenes, employing a dual-threshold sea-land segmentation method to seamlessly integrate offshore ships into nearshore water regions. These fused images are then used as input for training the ConSinGAN model. Compared to the original model, IF-SinConGAN significantly improves both the diversity and quality of generated SAR images. © 2024 SPIE.

The steam generator level control system is one of the critical control systems in a nuclear power plant, and its performance is vital for the safe and stable operation of the plant. The control parameters are key factors that affect the operational performance of the steam generator level control system. Therefore, during the commissioning of the nuclear power plant, it is usually necessary to adjust the parameters through the trial-and-error method. This tuning process mainly relies on the experience of the commissioning personnel and may potentially compromise plant safety due to human errors. Considering that the parameter tuning process of control systems can be regarded as a special type of batch processes, this paper proposes to apply an efficient data-driven optimization method, multi-source hybrid data-driven optimization method based on model accuracy gradient estimation (MHDO-MAGE), to the problem of parameter tuning for the steam generator control system. This method effectively combines the advantages of traditional MBO (Model-Based Optimization) and MFO (Model-Free Optimization) methods, while efficiently utilizing prior data information related to the optimization problem. This method was implemented on a widely adopted steam generator control system model specifically designed for steam generator simulations. The simulation results clearly indicate that the MHDO-MAGE method significantly enhances the efficiency of parameter tuning for the steam generator level control system, ultimately leading to a reduction in the costs associated with nuclear power plant commissioning. © 2024 IEEE.

Rational planning of battery energy storage system is the key technology to solve the problem of high proportion of new energy consumption and the requirements of high performance power supply. Starting from the multiple application dimensions of power supply, power grid, load and battery energy storage system, this paper proposes a method of battery energy storage system capacity allocation based on multi-objective comprehensive evaluation. Firstly, the capacity configuration model of battery energy storage system is established from two aspects of service objectives and operation constraints;Then, under the two-level optimization framework, the capacity allocation scheme of the battery energy storage system is formed by using particle swarm optimization and multi- attribute decision-making methods;Finally, the configuration results of IEEE33 nodes with high proportion of distributed new energy access are analyzed, and the influence of model parameters and target orientation on the capacity of battery energy storage system is discussed. The simulation results show that the proposed method can flexibly and effectively configure the battery energy storage system, complete multiple different target service requirements, and promote the scientific application of the battery energy storage system. © 2022, Chinese Institute of electrical engineering.
