control moment gyroscopes (CMGs) serve as critical actuators in spacecraft, and modeling of CMGs is vital for health monitoring and fault diagnosis. This paper presents a component-level electromechanical coupling modeling approach for CMGs, which simultaneously considers the mechanical kinematics and electrical characteristics of key CMG components. Firstly, the rotational speed control of brushless DC motors and permanent magnet synchronous motors is modeled to develop an electrical signal model for the high-speed rotor and gimbal assembly of the CMG. Secondly, a coupled mechanical dynamics model is constructed by analyzing the gyroscopic torque effect and calculating the bearing friction torque. Relevant degradation parameters are introduced to simulate potential degradation during CMG operation. Simulation experiments and case analyses demonstrate the high fidelity of the proposed model.
