It is well known that vertical take-off and landing(VTOL) aircraft system is a complex multi-variable nonlinear system with large disturbances. In order to control the VTOL aircraft system ef ciently, it is necessary to explore new optimal control methods to stabilize the system states. In this paper, we apply dual heuristic programming(DHP) to design the optimal controller for VTOL aircraft system. As a framework of approximate dynamic programming(ADP) algorithm, DHP consists of three modules: model, critic and actor. The critic module output partial derivatives of cost function with respect to state. It has many advantages such as good dynamics, fast convergence rate, and high control resolution. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of optimal controller for VTOL aircraft system based on the DHP algorithm.

The gas-water two-phase flow is very common in the industrial processes. the deep understanding of the two-phase flow state is to achieve the production equipment design and safe operation. In the measurement of gas-water two-phase flow, the differential pressure sensor is widely used, and some measurement model of multiphase flow have been concluded. The differential pressure is generated when fluid flowing through the throttling components to calculate flow rate. This paper mainly focuses on two points: 1. The change rule of the parameters include velocity, pressure, phase fraction as the change of time, when the phase inlet velocity is given. 2. Analysis the distribution of the parameters above-mentioned at a certain moment under the condition of different water inlet velocity. Three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approach was used to simulate gas-water two-phase flow fluid in the annular channel, which is composed of horizontal pipe and long- waist cone sensor. The simulation results were obtained from FLUENT software.

This paper, investigates finite-time stability and finite-time boundedness for nonlinear systems with polynomial vector fields. Finite-time stability requires the states of the system to remain a given bounded set in a finite-time interval and finite-time boundedness considers the same problem for the system but with bounded disturbance. Sufficient conditions for finite-time stability and finite-time boundedness of nonlinear systems as well as a computational method based on sum of squares programming to check the conditions are given. The problem of finite-time stability for a system that consists of an interconnection of subsystems is also considered and we show how to decompose the problem into subproblems for each subsystem with coupling constraints. A solution to the problem using sum of squares programming and dual decomposition is presented. The method is demonstrated through some examples.

Measuring the velocity distribution of dilute gas-solid two-phase flow is necessary for industrial process monitor and control. However, in order to get correct measurement of the velocity distribution, the effective correlation calculation by non-corresponding side electrode couples of the electrostatic sensor was needed. By introducing the principle of electrostatic correlation based velocity distribution measurement method, the importance of the effective correlation calculation by non-corresponding side electrode couples was emphasized in this paper. In order to ensure effective correlation calculation by non-corresponding side electrode couples was emphasized in this paper. In order to ensure effective correlation calculation by non-corresponding side electrode couples, effective correlation analysis of multi-electrode electrostatic sensor was carried out and effective correlation analysis method was proposed. According to this method, the structure of multi-electrode electrostatic sensor was optimized. Finally, experimental results show that correlation calculation of non-corresponding side electrode couples could be done effectively by the optimized multi-electrode electrostatic sensor. This result lays a foundation for further research on velocity distribution measurement.
