The technology of reconfigurable optical networks (RONs) is growing to be a promising solution to effectively cater to the rapidly increasing traffic generated by the digital society. Optical technology emerges as a viable alternative because to its capacity to offer a substantial bandwidth, little latency, and enhanced overall performance. Nevertheless, it is imperative to effectively manage the physical resources comprising a data center. This study provides an experimental demonstration of the RONs, which is enhanced by a control plane. The implementation relies on the monitoring of real-time network statistics. This enables the execution of various activities, including as network slice provisioning and reconfiguration, assignment of packet priority classes, and dynamic operations. These actions are performed to ensure the attainment of the desired Quality of Service level. The experimental results show the successfully implementation of RONs using Mininet Emulator and sFlow traffic monitoring technology. The results approve that optical datacenter has minimum delay with low OSNR even with long distance and fast switching time. © 2023 IEEE.

Wind and solar energy inverter-based resources (IBRs) has been employed extensively with the aim of carbon neutrality. Power systems also make extensive use of power electronic converters, leading to interactions between IBRs and with the grid, causing high frequency oscillation (HFO) problems. It damages equipment and jeopardizes the security of the system. To identify HFO components above 100 Hz, this research use Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) instantaneous value data to determine the HFO associated characteristics. To reduce the influence of spectral leakage and the fence effect, as well as to improve the identification accuracy of the related parameters, this paper adopts the RV self-convolutional window based Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) and the Hanning double-window based all-phase Fast Fourier Transform (apFFT) hybrid algorithm to identify the HFO modal parameters. We take into account the identification accuracy in complex cases, such as non-nominal frequencies, with noise effects and multiple HFO modes. The simulation results show that the proposed method has high identification bandwidth, accuracy and strong flexibility. © 2024 IEEE.

The HVAC system is one of the major power consuming equipment in buildings. Considering the effective setpoint temperature of each zone can increase efficiency in managing power usage in buildings, leading to the operating cost reduction. This paper presents the design of supervisory control (SC) for multi-zone HVAC systems that aims to minimize the total operating cost (TOC) and the thermal comfort cost (TCC). To minimize the TOC and TCC, both objectives are normalized and combined as a quadratic programming (QP) problem which can be efficiently solved. To achieve the design objective, two methods of SC are developed for multi-zone, namely, centralized SC and decentralized SC. We apply standard QP and sparse QP solvers using interior point method. The numerical results reveal that centralized SC performs better according to a tradeoff curve which TOC and TCC are lower. While both solvers give the same results, sparse solver can provide the solutions faster than interior point method. This paper demonstrates that centralized control is appropriate for implementation in multi-zones buildings and the sparse solver proves to be more suitable in the context of sparse QP problem.

This paper constructed a collaborative combat effectiveness evaluation system with considering the characteristics and limitations of the vehicles. Firstly, multiple hypersonic vehicles formation problem is converted to an optimization problem based on the collaborative combat effectiveness evaluation system. Secondly, the relative distance and angles between vehicle and a certain reference point is selected as the formation parameters, which are chosen as optimization variables in the optimization algorithm. Thirdly, the efficiency function corresponding to each evaluation indicator is given under the constraints of the vehicle and the PSACO (particle swarm ant colony optimization) algorithm is used to solving this optimization problem. In particular, the scenario of detection and the scenario of penetration are designed respectively considering different combat requirements. Finally, it can be verified that multiple hypersonic vehicles can achieve cooperative optimal formation in two combat scenarios through the effectiveness evaluation system and the PSACO algorithm according to simulation examples. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

With population growth, national grain still needs to import a lot every year, grain is a country's economic lifeline, so we are now the first problem to solve is agriculture production, this paper proposes the method of analysis of plant electrical signals and discusses the relationship between plant electrical signal change and plant growth environment and growth state. Thus, the growth condition of plants can be judged by the electrical signals of plants, and the environmental factors can be adjusted quickly so that the growth condition of plants can be effectively controlled. In this paper, aloe vera is used as the experimental object to predict and evaluate the environment where the plant is located through plant electrical signals. Taking the assessment of the change of light intensity in the environment where aloe vera is located as an example, only the light intensity is changed, and the collection is carried out under the three light levels of 0%, 50%, and 100%. The FTP data site will be established for the three kinds of electrical signals collected. Realize plant electrical signal data storage and online acquisition. The embedded platform is built, the domestic RT-Thread real-time operating system is adopted for modular programming, and the MQTT transmission protocol is adopted to realize the data interaction between the embedded hardware platform and the Ali Cloud Internet of Things platform. Meanwhile, the WEB side of the Ali Cloud platform can control and monitor the environment incubator, which is convenient for laboratory staff to carry out experiments and maintain data. © 2023 IEEE.

To address the problems of chattering and slow response in the sliding mode control system of surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM), a novel sliding mode controller combined with an enhanced sliding mode observer is proposed. A new reaching law of sliding mode is designed, which uses the tanh function as the switching function of the control system to smooth the switching process. The terminal attractor is introduced to improve the convergence speed and control quality of the system. An improved sliding mode observer is developed, which replaces the sign function with a continuous function, compensates for the observation error, reduces the chattering effect, and improves the observation accuracy. A simulation model of double closed-loop speed control system based on the proposed sliding mode controller and observer is established, and a simulation experiment is conducted to compare it with the PI control system and the sliding mode control system based on exponential reaching law. The simulation results show that the proposed control strategy can effectively diminish the chattering effect, enhance the system convergence, and better track the given signal. © 2023 IEEE.

In the scenario that multiple missiles intercept one active defense target with multiple defenders. The missiles aim to finish the tasks that intercept the target from different directions to achieve saturation and evade from the defenders at the same time and each defender aim at different missile. Different from the existing results, multiple defenders are concerned in the scenario. Firstly, the guidance problem is separated into two decoupled part which is missiles-target (MT) problem and missile-defender (MD) problem. Secondly, the linearized kinematics of MD and MT model is established. Thirdly, the guidance problem is transformed into a bilateral optimal problem and the guidance laws is obtained by solving the Hamilton function. Finally, numerical simulation is given to verify the correctness of the acquired theories. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

For the problem of low efficiency and accuracy of automotive gear defect detection by manual visual inspection method, a detection method of automotive gear endface defects based on Yolov8s algorithm is proposed. The original Yolov8s model is improved in this paper considering the problem of smaller defects in automotive gears. Firstly, the CBAM attention mechanism was introduced in Backbone to help the model pay more attention to information related to gear defects while suppressing useless information in the data. It better captures the key features of gear defects. Secondly, a small target detection layer is added to the network structure to solve the problem of small target information loss due to the large downsampling multiplier of Yolov8s. It better extracts the features of small targets. For the problem that some defective kinds of samples in the dataset collected from real industrial scenes are too small, this paper uses the Mosaic data augmentation method, which is used to expand the number of samples and solve the problem of inadequate training to some extent. The improved Yolov8s was compared with the original Yolov8s model for experiments. The results show that the improved Yolov8s model improves both Precision and Recall over the original Yolov8s model. Meanwhile, the improved Yolov8 algorithm is used for automotive gear defect detection in a real scenario detection task, which effectively reduces the miss detection rate and shows good performance. It meets the inspection needs of real industrial scenarios, and is advanced and practical in automotive gear defect detection. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to be flexible and handle complex scenarios, intelligent automation systems might benefit from automated planning techniques which rely on specifications and models describing their behavior. However, due to the presence of message passing, latency, jitter, timeouts, failures, and error handling, the verification of such behavior models using formal methods is often unfeasible. Therefore, testing has emerged as an approach to evaluating the behavior of intelligent automation systems. This paper presents a way to analyze structural coverability of behavior models for intelligent automation systems, which is inspired by the modified condition/decision coverage (MC/DC) criterion. This is paired with a testing procedure that enables each test case to influence both the controller and the simulated environment by injecting some specific state. As a result, the proposed coverability criterion can effectively identify segments of the behavior model that have not been adequately tested and suggest additional test cases to improve coverability. An example use case is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach. © 2023 IEEE.

For the gimbal servo system, multiple disturbances restrict the improvement of its angular velocity tracking accuracy. Aiming at solving this problem, a harmonic disturbance observer-based composite controller is developed in this paper. Firstly, multiple disturbances are modeled, Fourier analyzed, and classified based on frequency distribution characteristics. Secondly, a robust control method is designed based on loop-shaping technology for the gimbal servo system to ensure servo performance and suppress low-frequency disturbances. To estimate and compensate the imbalance vibration, a harmonic disturbance observer (HDO) is proposed according to the frequency information of imbalance vibration. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2022 IEEE.
