This study addresses the problem of guaranteed cost fault-tolerant fuzzy control for multiline re-entrant manufacturing systems (RMSs) against stochastic disturbances and workstation faults. Initially, a nonlinear hyperbolic impulsive partial differential equation model is employed to describe the complex and hybrid dynamics of RMSs suffering from unexpected faults within the working stations, and then the corresponding approximation T-S fuzzy model is constructed. In what follows, with the aid of the parallel distributed compensation fuzzy control scheme, the main results of stability analysis and controller synthesis for the closed-loop re-entrant manufacturing control system are derived using a timer-dependent Lyapunov functional with spatio-temporal auxiliary variables. It is found that by means of the proposed fault-tolerant control approach, the RMS can be effectively and robustly driven to a desired production mode with steady feeding and production rates while the upper bound of a quadratic cost function is minimized. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed control approach is validated through numerical simulations. © 2013 IEEE.

At present, there are many classification methods for emotion recognition. Based on the SEED dataset, this paper explored the recognition performance of three emotion recognition models: support vector machine(SVM), random forest(RF) and convolutional neural network(CNN). Firstly, we compared the accuracy of the five features of power spectral density (PSD), differential entropy (DE), differential asymmetry (DASM), rational asymmetry (RASM), and the differences between DE features of 23 pairs of frontal-posterior electrodes (DCAU) in total frequency bands. It is proved that the DE feature is more conducive to emotion recognition. Secondly, we also compared the accuracy of DE feature in five different frequency bands (Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta and Gamma). Here we verified that the performance of the Gamma and Beta frequency bands were better than the others. Then, we traversed the recognition accuracy of each channel through the RF method, and chose four different channel combinations for 4, 6, 9 and 12 channels. Finally, we compared the DE features of these four combined channels with the performance of all 62 channels, and it is demonstrated that the accuracy of the four combined channels were comparatively steady, and the best recognition rate was 89.20%, which was similar to the recognition accuracy of the original 62 channels. © 2022 IEEE.

In order to improve the compensation accuracy and speed of the static synchronous compensator (DSTATCOM) for the unbalanced load, a novel linear active disturbance rejection controller is proposed in this paper. The controller is applied to the current tracking control of DSTATCOM, and its mathematical model is derived. The performance of the new linear active disturbance rejection controller is analyzed by frequency domain analysis to prove its correctness. Finally, the operation performance of DSTATCOM under the action of the new controller is verified by MATLAB/Simulink simulation platform, and compared with the traditional ADRC controller. The results show that the capacitive split DSTATCOM controller has better compensation performance and is more practical. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

As we all know, the transient voltage of the double-fed induction generator (DFIG) will lead to current saturation and then automatic off-grid, which is detrimental to the stability of the power grid under fault. With more occurrence of voltage instability accidents, the voltage stability of wind farms has been paid more attention. The singularity of differential algebraic equations (DAEs) is closely related to transient voltage instability. Jacobian matrix is generally used to judge the instability of the system in current study, but it is difficult to calculate in practice. Therefore, this paper studies the mechanism of transient voltage instability of DFIG from the perspective of DAEs mathematical model, deduces phase angle limit of DFIG, which can be used as a practical index to judge the stability of the system, and verifies that the phase-locked loop (PLL)is the key reason for the instability of grid following DFIG by simulation in Simulink. © 2023 IEEE.

The life cycle of Haematococcus pluvialis is more complicated, and cultivation requires many suitable conditions, so it is difficult to predict the cultivation effect. Therefore, in order to explore the short-Term growth status of Haematococcus pluvialis cells in the proliferation stage, 99 groups of sample data with the average radius of algae cells are selected as the research object, and the stability test and white noise test of the sample data sequence are performed. According to the stability of the data series, the model parameters were determined, and the ARIMA model was established to predict the time series. In order to prove the applicability and accuracy of the model, the real value and the predicted value of the algae cell radius were compared. Haematococcus cell radius error is within 10%, It shows that the model can bring reference research value for the growth prediction of algae cells in the short-Term. © 2022 ACM.

This paper considers distributed optimization problems, where each agent cooperatively minimizes the sum of local objective functions through the communication with its neighbors. The widely adopted distributed gradient method in solving this problem suffers from slow convergence rates, which motivates us to incorporate the second-order information of the objective functions. However, the challenge arises from the unique structure of the inverse of the Hessian matrix, which prevents the direct distributed implementation of the second-order method. We overcome this challenge by proposing a novel optimization framework. The key idea is to transform the distributed optimization problem into an optimal control problem. Using Pontryagin’s maximum principle and the associated forward-backward difference equations (FBDEs), we derive a new distributed optimization algorithm that incorporates the second-order information without requiring the computation of the inverse of the Hessian matrix. Furthermore, the superlinear convergence of the proposed algorithm is proved under some mild assumptions. Finally, we also propose a variant of the algorithm to balance the number of iterations and communication. © 2024, CC BY.

The anode saturable reactor (ASR) is a critical component in converter valves for protecting thyristors. In recent years, fault issues caused by abnormal heating have received widespread attention. However, the complex structure of the ASR presents a significant challenge for accurate temperature rise calculations. This study focuses on an ETT-type ASR and establishes a comprehensive electromagnetic-thermal-flow simulation model. The improved Bertotti loss separation model is applied to calculate core losses, and time-averaged losses are used as the heat source coupled to the temperature field to address the mismatch between the time scales of losses and temperature rise. The temperature distribution of multiple core pairs in the ASR is solved based on a fluid-thermal coupling method and compared with three other methods. Experimental results show that under normal operating conditions, the core temperature of the ASR is approximately 75°C, with slight temperature differences observed across the cores. The proposed heat calculation model provides more accurate results than other models. © 2015 IEEE.

Power electronic converters are used at both ends of 220 kV alternating current (AC) lines in offshore wind farms, and their fault characteristics are greatly affected by the converters, and there is a risk of incorrect action when traditional distance protection is applied to AC lines of flexible direct current (DC) delivery systems. To address this problem, the low voltage ride-through control strategy of the grid-side converter is introduced, and its influence on the action characteristics of distance protection based on positive sequence voltage polarization is analyzed. On this basis, an improved distance protection method is proposed to adjust the distance protection action range by using the offset angle to ensure the correct action of the distance protection, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation test results. © 2024 IEEE.

In previous studies, most work focused on generating high-quality reports by smoothing the alignment between cross-modal mappings. However, a common problem with current radiology report generation methods is that they ignore the interactions and connections between various medical findings that are critical to medical discovery. To overcome this problem, we propose a knowledge-driven cross-modal memory network. The network is built by data mining clinical reports and constructing knowledge graphs and their corresponding adjacency matrices based on the mined a prior knowledge. Combining information after graphical interaction through a cross-modal memory network with a knowledge graph adjacency matrix. Finally the Transformer generates a full report. Experiments have demonstrated that reports generated from cross-modal memory network models that incorporate prior knowledge are more clinically informative. © 2023 IEEE.

Image-based region mapping requires an image-stitching process to produce a complete map while preserving the details of the mapped objects. Image acquisition can be done using UAVs such as drones, and image stitching can be performed using the Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF (ORB) techniques. However, this algorithm has a drawback: There are many mismatches during feature matching. In this study, a maximum pixel displacement constraint between images was applied during the feature-matching process. Applying this constraint improved the feature-matching results due to a significant reduction of the mismatch rate from 84.28% to 25.17%. This reduction positively impacted subsequent stages, including map stitching. The mismatch removal process and the acquisition of transformation models during image registration became faster, reducing the processing time from 17m 36.8s to 1m 17.2s. Additionally, there was an improvement in the SSIM metric score, indicating that the stitched image results had a higher similarity to the reference image captured by a digital camera, increasing from 0.8423 to 0.8489. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing.
