Steel plate is a highly customized product, and steel plates from the same order may be stored in different stacks. However, during the outbound process, the steel plates of the next order can only be dispatched from the warehouse once all plates from the preceding order have been fully completed. In this case, the outbound scheduling of steel plates is a challenging problem since its efficiency and complexity are affected by the shuffling of steel plates. In order to address the challenge, this paper formulates the steel plate outbound scheduling as a dynamic programming model with the aim of minimizing the crane operation time. To solve the problem, an decision tree-based backtracking search algorithm (DTBSA) is developed, in which the search tree is pruned through lower bound functions and dominance rules, so as to reduce the search range of the solution space. Experimental results prove that the proposed method can obtain optimal scheduling results within a reasonable time range. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an accurate altitude estimation on a small multirotor UAV. That is crucial for the stability and performance of UAV, particularly in altitude hold control. Barometric pressure sensors are widely used to estimate altitude based on atmospheric pressure, but their readings are highly susceptible to environmental fluctuations, temperature variations, and dynamic airflow effects. To mitigate these altitude errors, this study focuses on enhanced flight control installation techniques, including the physical protection of barometric sensors inside enclosed, well-ventilated compartments to shield them from wind disturbances and rapid pressure changes. The proposed mitigation strategy is validated through ground testing and flight testing, where altitude hold performance is assessed under various environmental conditions. The results confirm that enclosing the barometric sensor within a protective, ventilated chamber significantly reduces altitude estimation errors, leading to more stable altitude hold control with reduced vertical oscillations. These findings highlight the importance of integrated sensor protection in UAV flight control system design and provide a practical framework for improving altitude estimation reliability in both consumer and industrial UAV applications.

This paper comes up with an appointed-time prescribed performance control (APPC) scheme for hypersonic reentry vehicles (HRVs) with actuator faults, model uncertainties and external disturbances. Firstly, a control-oriented HRVs model is established, which regards the above three factors as lumped disturbance. Then, a fixed-time disturbance observer (FTDO) is employed in order to estimate and compensate the lumped disturbance. Furthermore, based on the active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) framework and backstepping method, an APPC law is designed to ensure the attitude tracking errors reach to the prescribed regions within the appointed time. The closed-loop system is also proven to be asymptotically stable via Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, the numerical simulation results demonstrate the good performance of the proposed controller. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this paper, the coordinated control problem of deformation and flight for morphing aircraft (MA) is studied by using meta-learning (ML) and coupled state-dependent Riccati equations (CSDREs). Our method is built on two principal observations that dynamic models of MA under varying morphing conditions share a morphing condition independent representation function and that the specific morphing condition part lies in a set of linear coefficients. To that end, the domain adversarially invariant meta-learning (DAIML) is employed to learn the shared representation with offline flight data. Based on the learned representation function, the coordinated control of the deformation and flight for MA is formulated as a non-cooperative differential game. The state-dependent feedback control solutions can be derived by addressing a pair of CSDREs. For this purpose, Lyapunov iterations are extended to obtain the positive semidefinite (definite) stabilizing solutions of the CSDREs, and the convergence proof of the proposed algorithm is provided. Finally, a simulation study is carried out to validate the efficacy of the developed coordinated game control strategies. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The smooth release of the refueling hose is the prerequisite for the successful completion of the aerial refueling mission. To cope with this issue, this work proposes a method to solve the optimal release acceleration and speed of refueling hose. First, the kinematics and dynamics model of the hose-drogue assembly (HDA) considering the hose release is built. Second, two release modes, constant and variable acceleration, are designed. And the constrained cost function is defined to evaluate the process of hose release. Third, the penalty function technique is adopted to transform the constrained optimization problem into an unconstrained objective problem, which is optimized through grey wolf optimizer (GWO). So as to deal with the poor static stability, strong nonlinear aerodynamic parameters and serious coupling of control rudder surface of flying-wing UAV. On the basis of the theory of active disturbance rejection control (ADRC), this attitude controller consists of two parts, which are outer angle controller and inner angle velocity controller. In this research, the Human Following Robot (HFR) prototype has been designed and implemented using YOLO v3-Tiny and Tensor Flow Lite on Raspberry Pi hardware named Rewang. The HFR Rewang is designed to assist aircraft technicians by bringing maintenance tool kits to aircraft shelters. Rewang's movement is based on a camera as a vision sensor following the movement of human entities. Image input is processed by YOLO v3-Tiny through the determination of the bounding box, the calculation of Euclidean Distance, and the determination of the pixel value of the camera as the basis of Rewang's movement which is regulated by an L298N driver motor that controls two Direct Current (DC) motors for the left and right wheels. The test results show that Rewang can move at an average speed of 0.18 m/s at 2 m with a travel time of 11 seconds with a light intensity of more than 250 lux. The minimum and maximum distance of object detection is as far as 120 cm and 400 cm, with an object detection accuracy of 95.8%. Rewang allows the HFR to have a larger carrying capacity to bring more complete aircraft maintenance tools and is prospective for other aerospace and general applications.

In frequency domain, wavelet coefficient is one of the characteristics of ERG signal which is hidden in frequency-domain. This paper aims to develop a tool for analyzing the constituent frequencies and time of interest in the dog's ERG signal using wavelet analysis. We design a lowpass filter to reduce noise during the measurement of ERG response. ERG dataset was obtained for the light intensity series and their constituent frequencies are analyzed by using the continuous wavelet transform (CWT). The results show that, in time-domain, as light intensity increases, both amplitudes of a-wave and b-wave are higher. We can visualize the noise interference in the ERG signals. Then a lowpass filter is designed to attenuate the noise effect. The filtered signals have lower a-, and b-waves' amplitude which affect the important characteristics in time domain. Therefore, we choose to filter signal from 26ms onward, the main components are recovered, and the filtered signal becomes smoother. In frequency-domain, the peak magnitude of wavelet coefficients is increased as light intensity increases. © 2023 IEEE.

This dissertation considers the stability issue for generalized neural networks (GNNs) subject to mixed delays. Firstly, an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals (LKF) is constructed by containing two new delay-product-type (DPT) terms, augmented terms and double integral terms. Then, to cooperate with the established LKF effectively, an improved finite-interval quadratic polynomial inequality is utilized to handle the quadratic function negative-determination. As a consequence, a new less conservative stability condition is achieved. Finally, some well-studied simulation examples are included to show the superiority of the presented conditions. © 2023 IEEE.
