Exploring the design space is essential in the pursuit of developing high-performance and power-dense electric machines. This article explores the transformative potential of topology optimization (TO) in enhancing the performance of electric machines. Conventional techniques for optimizing the design of electric machines use optimization algorithms to determine geometric variables within a predefined range. However, these methods are limited by manufacturing constraints and the designer's expertise in parameterization. On the other hand, topology optimization aims to enhance the performance of electric machines by manipulating the distribution of materials as a design factor. The enhancement is facilitated by additive manufacturing (AM), particularly via the manufacturing of intricate metal parts. In this paper, the main concepts of topology optimization in electric machines are reviewed. Firstly, the requirement for topology optimization is illustrated, and both the achievements and challenges of this technique over the traditional parametric optimization are described. Then, a description is given of different topology optimization methods that were reported in the literature. Finally, the development opportunities of this technology are shown in the electric machine design field. © 2024 IEEE.

In controlled robot platoons, every subsystem needs information about the states of its neighbouring subsystems. On the other hand, actuator faults and communication errors have a considerable influence on the behaviour of the entire networked system. In this paper, an actuator fault diagnosis method is proposed that uses relative output information and it can be implemented without information interchange among the neighbouring subsystems. A subsystem model is proposed for the platoons, based on which the non-measurable states of the neighbouring subsystems can be determined by proper filtering techniques. In addition, the model is also used as the basis for designing a Proportional Integral (PI) observer for actuator fault estimation. Both the pole placement method and Linear Quadratic Estimator (LQE) are explored to determine the observer gain. The simulation results show that the model without network communication produces the same expected behaviour as the one that uses network communication. In addition, the proposed observer can correctly estimate the magnitude of the actuator fault. © 2023 IEEE.

Stress is a common psychological issue in today's world, causing individuals to experience physiological and behavioral changes. When someone experiences stress for a prolonged period, it can have an impact on their body and thoughts, leading to severe behaviors. Stress-related problems can be prevented if identified early. Nowadays, researchers' use of machine learning in early disease detection is increasing, offering a solution to stress-related issues. This study focuses on developing a machine learning predictive model for classifying stress levels using physiological data. Physiological data is obtained from an open-source dataset containing biosignal data such as Electrodermal (EDA), Skin Temperature, Heart Rate (HR), Blood Volume Pulse (BVP), and others. The dataset is then used to train a machine learning model using Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), Adaboost, and Bootstrapping algorithms. Accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score are used to evaluate the model's performance. As a result, the predictive model using the Bootstrapping algorithm achieves the best performance with an accuracy of 95.82%, a precision of 99.33%, a recall of 98.02%, and F1-score of 94.69% compared to other machine learning classifiers. Creating such models can aid in early stress detection once they are integrated into a wearable device for continuous monitoring purposes. © 2023 IEEE.

This preliminary paper presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to explore how consumer brand love of Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Indonesia could be enhanced through branding strategies. MSMEs play important role in current Indonesia economic growth, but unfortunately, they focus on the trading and forget about the branding. It also examines previous research to observe what should be highligted about brand love, how to identify the variables of the consumer voices and if the latent consumer voices has been identified. To collect the literature data, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar were used as databases. There is a contradictive thing about the masstige brand and MSME's brands about brand love, brand loyalty and purchase intention. Some recommendations strategies could be determined such as good collaboration between the government and MSMEs, and how to gather the latent consumer voice. For further research could be suggested to include interview that would be converted to text document. © 2024 IEEE.

The membrane water content of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC)is the most important feature required for water management of the PEMFC *** improper management of water in the fuel cell may lead to system *** various faults,flooding and drying faults are the most frequent in the PEMFC *** paper presents a new dynamic semi-empirical model which requires only the load current and temperature of the PEMFC system as the input while providing output voltage and membrane water content as its major *** other PEMFC systems,the proposed dynamic model calculates the internal partial pressure of oxygen and hydrogen rather than using special internal ***,the membrane water content and internal resistances of PEMFC are modelled by incorporating the load current condition and temperature of the PEMFC *** model parameters have been extracted by using a quantum lightening search algorithm as an optimization technique,and the performance is validated with experimental data obtained from the NEXA 1.2 k W PEMFC *** further demonstrate the capability of the model in fault detection,the variation in membrane water content has been studied via the *** proposed model could be efficiently used in prognostic and diagnosis systems of PEMFC fault.

The ability to continuously monitor the parameters associated with the state of health of an individual results in a large volume of data, which presents both challenges and opportunities for data analysis. There are several studies of convolutional neural networks (CNN) used successfully in the implementation of tools for the monitoring and analysis of a large amount of medical data, accomplishing faster and more accurate data processing for the forecasting of health-related variables. This paper will address the design of a predictive model of ECG and PPG signals to estimate blood pressure (BP) with an one dimensional convolutional neural network (CNN1D) that optimizes performance to reduce the amount of processing on devices. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper introduces an IP over Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (IPoDWDM) framework that integrates commercial state-of-the-art routing devices and Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexers (ROADMs), adhering to the OpenROADM MSA standards. A hierarchical software-defined networking controller (H-SDNC) seamlessly orchestrates network resource reservation across the DWDM aggregation layer and layer 2/3 through RESTCONF and NETCONF protocols. This first proof of concept paves the way for network architectures that closely integrate multi-layer resources to boost efficiency and flexibility in open and multi-vendor networks. © 2024 IEEE.

The need for a communication system using VSAT technology on the Ku-Band band is now starting to develop in Indonesia, both the need for pay TV or internet provision, The problem in using VSAT Ku-band technology is propagation that occurs due to weather disturbances, especially rain. As a result of these weather conditions, it produces a high enough attenuation which can result in disruption, disturbance at a certain level can have an impact on service down. The switch diversity program is used to move channels from transmission networks that are affected by interference to other transmission channels. The fiber optic diversity channel under study has two channels. In this study, researchers conducted an analysis by making a comparison between two fiber optic cores using a diversity switch to determine the quality of the signal when the transmission path is exposed to rain. The results of the research on fiber optic links from the two transmission lines of one transmission obtain a signal quality that is less strong below the fair reference limit value where the value is-10.73 dB. Meanwhile, one transmission path has a fairly low attenuation value and signal reception is better close to the reference value.
