In this paper is presented the design of a dual-band microstrip antenna using disk resonator by RLC load circuit. The frequencies of expected work in the design of this antenna are 145.9 MHz and 436.9 MHz. This antenna design using CST Microwave Studio, the measured parameter is the return loss, VSWR, and antenna gain. Design of antenna is realized and measured for all of parameters. The simulation results obtained for the frequency 145.9 MHz: -26.633 dB return loss; VSWR 1.0978; and the gain realized 0.09702 dB, beside that for the frequency 436.9 MHz is obtained: -30.817 dB return loss; VSWR 1.0593; and gain realized 0.07533 dB. Realization of measurement results for the frequency 145.9 MHz is obtained: -20.23 dB return loss; VSWR 1.283; and gain of 1.78 dBi, and for the working frequency 436.9 MHz is obtained: -16.64 return loss; VSWR 1.394; and gain 6.02 dBi. This antenna can be used as an antenna transceiver Nano portable satellite earth stations.

Sensory evaluation plays an important role in the quality control of food productions. Sensory data obtained through sensory evaluation are generally subjective, vague and uncertain. Classically, factorial multivariate methods such as Principle Component Analysis (PCA), Partial Least Square (PLS) method, Multiple Regression (MLR) method and Response Surface Method (RSM) are the common tools used to analyse sensory data. These methods can model some of the sensory data but may not be robust enough to analyse nonlinear data. In these situations, intelligent modelling techniques such as Fuzzy Logic and Artificial neural network (ANNs) emerged to solve the vagueness and uncertainty of sensory data. This paper outlines literature of intelligent sensory modelling on sensory data analysis.

The method of electronic nose to evaluate quality of shallot was developed. The response signals of sensor array to shallot odor were measured. Six plots of shallot were cultivated with different chemical substances. The patterns of sensor responses to shallot odor of each plot were clustered by two-dimensional principal component analysis (PCA). The result shown that six shallot plots were clearly classified into 2 groups. The same observation was also seen in the PCA scores based on the optimized set of sensors without any significant performance changes. These results suggest that the shallot cultivated by additional nutrient can be possibly evaluated in the simple and fast way using low-cost electronic nose system.

Correlation between creative thinking skill and competency achievement with vocational maturity on vocational high school

The aims of this research were to study: 1) correlation between creative thinking skill with vocational maturity; 2) correlation between competency achievement with vocational maturity; and 3) correlation between creative thinking skill and competency achievement with vocational maturity simultaneously. In this research, creative thinking skill (X1) and competency achievement (X2) were independent variables and dependent variable was vocational maturity (Y). The population of this research was entire of vocational high school students grade XI Computer and Network engineering. The total number of population was 337 students. The sampling technique used was proportional random sampling, so the total number of sample was 182 students. This research used quantitative approach and the kind of research was descriptive correlational. The analysis data used descriptive analysis, classic assumption test, and hypothesis test were consist of correlation product moment and multiple regression. Correlation product moment was used to determine relationship between dependent variable with each independent variable partially, whereas multiple regression was used to determine correlation between independent variables with dependent variables simultaneously. The results showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between creative thinking skill with vocational maturity. It was observed from the magnitude of Coefficient Correlation (R) = 0.606. And then, there was a positive and significant correlation between competency achievement with vocational maturity. It was observed from the magnitude of Coefficient Correlation (R) = 0.733. There was positive and significant correlation simultaneously between creative thinking skill and competency achievement with vocational maturity. It was observed from the magnitude of R = 0.769 and R square = 0.591. Based on the result of this research could be concluded that ha (hypothesis alternative) was accepted and ho (hypothesis 0)

Internet penetration in developing countries depend on a variety of factors, including the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the density of telephone connections, and the density of personal computer users. Internet kiosks have been deployed in 21 rural ditrict areas of Garut Regency to facilitate internet access for local/district government as well as for the community who have no access to internet. Each district was equiped with 10 PCs, a printer, a scanner, and an internet connection either using DSL or cellular access technology. The program was government sponsored through the Ministry of Communications and Information of the Republic of Indonesia. This program was also designed to provide education and training for the district internet kiosks operator as well as for the staffs of information technology at Garut Regency, on understanding, efficient use, management, maintenance, as well as the ethical/professional use of information to upgrade their skills. This study was then conducted to evaluate factors affecting internet penetration in rural areas of Garut Regency, West Java of Indonesia. © 2015 IEEE.

This study directs to research the developed business performance based on optimal costs, which is enabled by an IT value engineering concept, namely an engineering method due to IT inclusion within an organization to generate excellent performances at minor cost. Thus, the method is using systems engineering in which the processes through an engineering design process by defining the problem, generating alternative solutions, selecting a solution, detailing the design, validating the model. Furthermore, this methodology combines with the resource-based view and the partial adjustment theories. At that point, the results disclose a parallel fashion model to remain business performance completely at minimum costs.

Humans sense of touch consists in a complexity of sensors and nervous system. The information inferred by this system enables the daily dexterous manipulation tasks. In biological systems, there is no conscious prioritization of sensors while performing tactile exploration and the selection of exploratory movements is driven by learning instincts and data gathered by previous movements. The development of artificial systems tries to mimic such systems with engineered sensors and strategies for movement selection. This paper presents a data-driven analysis to the problem of sensor selection in the contour following for shape discrimination task. This task consists of a 4-DOF robotic finger exploring a set of 7 synthetic shapes. The data collected from the motors, inertial measurement unit, and magnetometer was analyzed applying principal component analysis and a multilayer perceptron neural network. Results show the variation of classification rate depending on the fingertip material and sensor considered. It is worth to observe that the magnetometer was the most robust in both cases.
