The consumption profile of electrical energy always increases every year due to the highly consumptive and inappropriate lifestyles of modern society. A bad lifestyle such as forgetting to turn off the unused electronic devices when they are leaving home is one of the factors influenced the increasing consumption of electrical energy. This is off course contributing in wasting energy. In the paper, an IoT-based electronic device control system has been successfully constructed. Monitoring and control tasks could be performed remotely and in real time mode using an interface application installed on a smartphone. The system built is equipped with a device operational condition monitoring featured by placing light, temperature, thermal and current sensors, respectively. Through the utilization of the implemented system, users can monitor and control electronic devices easily and can figure out the condition of the device remotely in a real time mode. The control test on the system was successful with an average response time of approximately 3.32 seconds and the accuracy of sensor readings above 89%. With the implementation of this system, users can easily monitor and control electronic devices anywhere and anytime so that the opportunities for efficient and effective use of electrical energy could be further optimized. © 2022. Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that can attack the lungs and other organs. In the diagnosis of TB, the interpretation of X-ray radiological images requires special skills from medical specialists. However, the lack of experience of medical personnel and focus on X-ray examinations can be a challenge for radiologists because it has the potential to cause diagnostic errors in image interpretation. Therefore, we proposed a web-based application of real-time chest X-ray interpreter by integrating the deep learning model of Vision Transformer (ViT) to interpret chest X-ray images. The inference model was trained and tested on 652 normal and 652 tuberculosis X-ray images. The data preprocessing of Contrast Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) was implemented to increase chest X-ray image contrast as well as inference model performance. The proposed real time system can inteprete the tested chest x-ray images with an accuracy of 95% and with simulation duration time of 4.7 seconds. © 2024 IEEE.

Efficient path planning technology for autonomous vehicles not only yields significant time savings but also contributes to reducing fuel usage. Various methodologies have been introduced and documented in the literature concerning the path planning of autonomous vehicles. While these methodologies may not ensure an optimal solution, they have demonstrated successful applications in their respective contexts, especially the ant colony algorithm. Nevertheless, not many papers discuss the literature review from the viewpoint of ant colony-based path planning. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive review encompassing the modeling, optimization criteria, and solution algorithms related to the ant colony for path planning. In this study, the review of the ant colony algorithm is divided into global and local path planning. Based on the review results, the ant colony algorithm appears suitable for global path planning. To achieve better performance, it can be combined with other algorithms such as artificial potential field (APF), genetic algorithm, and particle swarm algorithm. These studies are conducted solely in simulations. Therefore, further research should be carried out to ensure the performance of combining the ant colony and APF for autonomous vehicles for both global and local path planning. © 2023 IEEE.

Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) is a technique that uses real-Time brain impulses to connect with and control external devices. BCI provides a new method for controlling external devices by translating brain signals into computer commands, facilitating the daily lives of people with disabilities and enhancing their ability to exhibit expected behavior. A Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) system based on Electroencephalography (EEG) was built to control the robotic arm. The EEG signals utilized included both eyes blinking, the right eye, the left eye, and the jaw contraction. EEG data were recorded from seven healthy subjects. The threshold approach is used to classify EEG signals, with the feature employed being the amplitude of the EEG signal. The highest threshold value for the blinking signal was 0.6 mV with an accuracy of 97.9%, while the best threshold value for jaw contraction was 0.4 mV with an accuracy of 93.34 percent. The healthy, inexperienced participants took part in system testing. The total results of testing each robot movement yielded an overall success rate of 84.52 percent. Therefore, it was determined that the system could facilitate the operation of the length robot even if the user lacked prior experience with EEG-based systems. © 2023 IEEE.

Detecting stunting in children is an important issue currently faced by healthcare providers to follow up efforts to reduce the number of stunted children in a region. Emerging research has applied deep learning to many aspects of stunting, including classifying stunting in children through facial images. This study aims to extend previous work on CNN benchmarking in classifying facial images of stunted children and normal children. Here, we trained, validated, and tested five more popular CNN architectures, namely ShuffleNetV2, InceptionV3, MobileNetV2, EfficientNetB0, and VGG19;the research was applied to the same dataset built in previous work. We presented the training and validation loss graphs, and the confusion matrices of all architectures. We measured CNN's accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-measures of the testing stage. Simulation results indicated that three CNN models, namely MobileNetV2, VGG19, and EfficientNetB0 performed comparably or better than previous CNNs in classifying children's facial images. VGG19 and EfficientNetB0 achieved testing accuracies of 100%. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents the human fall detection by convolutional neural network (CNN) classification and MobileNet algorithm. In order to reduce the number of parameter, we propose a vision-based fall detection model, that is called 'Applied Depthwise separable-based CNN-MobileNet (ACM) algorithm'. This model is based on CNN, deptwise convolution and pointwise convolution of MobileNet algorithm. Experimental results show the accuracy of proposed ACM model about 97.68% and number of parameters of proposed ACM model is less than conventional CNN model. © 2024 IEEE.

One of the potential implementations of mobile robots in mitigating the risk of communicable diseases is for delivering items and handling materials with no-human contact. In that scenario, mobile robots require the capability of performing simultaneous multi-object detection and distance estimation for dynamic exploration in a real-world environment. Some existing research papers have contributed to the development of object detection or distance estimation, separately. However, there is still a lack of studies on simultaneous multi-object detection and distance estimation for robot navigation, especially in terms of performance analysis of the integrated techniques. One of the most challenging issues of integrating multi-object detection and distance estimation is the validation and evaluation of the type of objects with their relevant estimated distance to the robot. For that reason, this research aims to analyze the mobile robot's sensing performance in integrated simultaneous multi-object detection and distance estimation during navigation scenarios. A depth camera of Intel RealSense D455 and a rotating LIDAR of Slamtec RPLidar A1M8 are utilized in the experiments. The result of experiments shows that the object detection algorithm using Mobilenet SSD V2 can perform an accuracy of 74%, with precision, recall, and F1-Score consecutively achieving 74,54%, 74,00%, and 74,22%. The multi-object distance estimator also performs satisfactory results with a low measurement average error of 10.3 cm for indoor experiments. The integrated multiobject detector and distance estimator system can work in a real-time mode of 30 FPS, thence significantly improving the navigation performance of the mobile robot. © 2023 IEEE.

The power transformer is the most important element of equipment in an electrical transmission and distribution network. The power and voltage levels that these transformers can manage determine their size, and as the transformer's volume increases, internal isolation and cooling become more challenging. The most popular insulating fluid used in transformers for insulation and cooling is mineral-based oil, which has demonstrated exceptional dielectric and thermal qualities. However, alternative oil technologies have been sought to replace mineral-based oils in recent years because to concerns about safety, cost, and environmental impact. In this context, extensive research efforts have emerged on biological oils for use in transformers. This paper examines the sustainability, safety, and electrical performance of bio-based ester oil in transformer applications with respect to dissolved gas analysis (DGA). AI-based Fuzzy logic controller (FLC) with Duval's triangle (DT) and Duval's pentagon (DP), IEC, CIGRE reports are used in a hybrid manner to identify the possible incipient faults inside the oil-immersed transformers. The graphical analysis of various fuzzy logic plots along with DT and DP are utilized to critically analyze the possible incipient faults arrayed due to DGA. The proposed work proficient compared to previously published results. Highest efficiency of DT and DP based FLC (92%), followed by furan analysis (82.3%). Lastly, recommendations are made on potential fixes for the problems raised and the future course of study for alternate dielectric fluids-based power transformers. The suggested techniques in this research offer a higher diagnostic accuracy than the present approach. © 2025 IEEE.

The electric power system must have a protection system with reliable electric power isolation, so that the supply of electrical energy works properly and optimally. There are several kinds of disturbances in the electric power distribution system, one of which is a partial discharge. This study aims to investigate the effect of plate-rod electrodes on partial discharge, partial discharge voltage limits in solid insulation, and the characteristics of partial discharge in electrode media, and waveforms in partial discharge detection sensors. After conducting research, it was found that in the plate-rod type electrode media, the PDIV voltage appeared earlier than the plate-plate electrode media due to the cross-sectional area of the electrode media. And the limit of the pre-discharge voltage of PCB type solid insulation on the plate-bar electrodes is at a voltage of 1.3 kV. Several indicators to determine the characteristics of the partial discharge are background noise off (BGN off), background noise on (BGN on), partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV), and partial discharge voltage. After being examined, the value of each partial discharge detection voltage was obtained at negative and positive polarity voltages on the electrode plates and plate needles respectively 2.85 kV, 2.95 kV and 1.32 kV, 1.57 kV. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. The aim of a bidirectional quasi single-stage converter (QSSC) for low-voltage energy storage systems that are grid-connected is to reduce the power conversion stage of the dc-dc converter, which results in improved overall efficiency. The QSSC configuration relies on a modified modulation strategy due to the unequal dual dc port (upper and lower dc ports) voltage. The control for ensuring that the dual dc port voltages are equal is presented in this paper. When the lower dc port is varied in response to battery voltage, another is controlled to track in response to the lower dc port, so that the voltage ratio between the upper and lower dc port is always equal to one. Furthermore, power sharing in a dual dc port is equal, which means that a dc-dc converter automatically operates at 50% of the battery power. Thus, the existing modulation can be used and the power stage conversion of the dc-dc converter can be decreased. The proposed control for the QSSC is verified with simulation results. © 2023 IEEE.
