As electric vehicle technologies advance, the number of off-board battery charger stations grows. Because they can provide a high-power level that is suitable for fast charging. The main factor of high-power transferring is power converters that should serve the grid power quality, including the reactive power, the power factor, and the harmonic distortion. In this paper, the development of the control algorithm for the three-phase three-level neutral point clamped converter-based off-board battery charger to support the utility grid when the three-phase grid voltage distortion or unbalance occurs is presented. By applying the standard phase-locked loop controller into the conventional control algorithm, it is possible to obtain more sinusoidal and balanced grid currents along with distorted or unbalanced grid voltages to conserve the grid power quality. The system operations, along with the comparison of the conventional control algorithm and the proposed algorithm, are provided in the simulation results. © 2022 IEEE.

The conversions are a key factor in the battery charging of electric vehicles. The off-board battery chargers, which are composed of converters and controller units, are needed to fast charge by transferring high-power. The converters should serve applications even with unusual grid systems where non-sinusoidal grid currents occur. This paper describes a high-performance, three-level T-type converter for off-board battery chargers. It can operate under conditions of grid voltage distortions and grid voltage unbalances. The proposed control algorithm provides the three-phase sinusoidal currents to prevent their effect on the grid system and the equipment, which is an improvement from the conventional control algorithm. The constant current and constant voltage modes are applied for charging applications. Moreover, the power factor correction can be obtained. The simulation results are provided to investigate the performance of the off-board battery charger based on the three-level T-type converter. © 2022 IEEE.

This study explores the potential assessment. of regenerative braking energy in the operation of Electric Multiple Units (EMU) on the Yogyakarta-Palur railway line, a 65.03 km. Prompted by a noticeable increase in passenger numbers in the Yogyakarta metropolitan buffer zone, the study calls for future energy management strategies, involving regenerative braking to reduce energy consumption. Utilizing a mathematical model implemented via MATLAB Simulink, the research encompasses complex train movement scenarios, considering variables such as acceleration values of 0.558 m/s2 and 1 m/s2, and deceleration values of -0.555 m/s2 and 0.36 m/s2. Speed limitations, travel patterns, and energy profiles are rigorously examined, along with incline influences, such as tangent angles of 0.0032 degrees and 0.0017 degrees. In segments like Purwosari-Solo Jebres, electrical energy consumption is quantified at 23.02 kWh, with regenerative braking energy at 1.42 kWh;in Maguwo-Brambanan, consumption is 15.28 kWh, with regenerative energy at 2.42 kWh. The peak power requirements and regenerative braking potentials were also determined, with values such as 619.9 kW and 225.7 kW, and 1785 kW and 198.2 kW respectively. The total electrical consumption for the routes from Palur to Yogyakarta and vice versa was found to be 325.52 kWh and 276.73 kWh, with energy recovery of 31.43 kWh and 26.6 kWh, and average energy recovery ratios of 9.66% and 9.61%. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The increasing use of Information Technology (IT) in all areas of life, followed by increasing cybersecurity threats on the user side, makes cybersecurity awareness among users an obligation that must be met. Several solutions currently available (guides, discussion forums, workshops) have not been able to provide good results and are lacking in terms of user engagement, adaptability, and optimizing available resources, so technology-based learning is needed, especially AI. This paper introduces the design and prototype of an AI-based learning system, especially with the Naive Retrieval-Augmented Generation (Naive RAG) method with three steps, including Retrieval, Augmented, and Generation. The system combines contextual user questions and answers with internal and domain knowledge systems to explain cybersecurity awareness to users dynamically and personally. The prototype that has been developed is then tested using the Black Box Testing method to evaluate functionality and usability. The test results show that the functionality of the system built has run well with a percentage of success of 100%, so it can be used as a technologybased learning medium for education and learning of user security awareness. © 2025 IEEE.

The Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have reshaped educational technology, increasing the chances of developing more effective and engaging learning environments. This study proposes an architecture for asynchronous data communication with real-Time face recognition, a virtual and remote labs confluence. The architecture uses IoT hardware and software to comprise critical components such as IoT cameras, message brokers, FTP servers, and AI processing servers. The aim is to optimize resource usage and maximize response time efficiency. The architecture employs message queuing to manage high volumes of face image data, facilitating immediate verification and rapid access. Our findings demonstrate that the system can achieve face recognition with 91.7% accuracy and an average system communication latency of 2.631 seconds, effectively leveraging asynchronous communication to optimize resource usage and computational efficiency. The research comprehensively measures the data communication metrics and face recognition metrics. It also explains how asynchronous data communication can be strategically deployed in a hybrid lab environment to enhance educational and operational efficacy. © 2023 IEEE.

In today's competitive world, it is critical for an institute to forecast student performance, classify individuals based on their talents, and attempt to enhance their performance in future tests. Students should be advised well in advance to concentrate their efforts in a specific area in order to improve their academic achievement. This type of analysis assists an institute in lowering its failure rates. Based on their prior performance in comparable courses, this study predicts students' performance in a course. Data mining is a collection of techniques used to uncover hidden patterns in massive amounts of existing data. These patterns may be valuable for analysis and prediction. Education data mining refers to the collection of data mining applications in the field of education. These applications are concerned with the analysis of data from students and teachers. The analysis might be used for categorization or prediction. Machine learning such as Nave Bayes, ID3, C4.5, and SVM are investigated. Purpose: With the increasing incidence of cardiac arrests in non-critical areas, it is crucial to provide comprehensive training to healthcare professionals. Simulation-based training using manikins offers a morally sound alternative to traditional methods and allows students to apply clinical skills in realistic scenarios. Usability evaluation, including assessment of efficiency, effectiveness, and user satisfaction, is essential for ensuring the effectiveness of the training. This research focuses on evaluating the usability of the simulation manikin for teaching cardiopulmonary resuscitation to medical students. Methods: Twenty-one volunteers participated in the experiments: 18 students and three teaching doctors (one instructor professor and two evaluator professors). The instructor professor was instructed to follow the same procedure used in the classroom setting. The evaluating professors were provided with appropriately labeled data collection instruments to evaluate the usability of manikins. The student performed the tasks as instructed, and after completion, they were directed to the debriefing room, where they filled out the feedback form. Results: The experimental data and the statistical analyses showed that regarding effectiveness, the study findings indicated that participants encountered difficulties in certain tasks, as evidenced by the need for significant intervention from the instructor professor. In relation to efficiency, the results demonstrated a clear correlation between the successful execution of tasks and the duration of instruction provided by the instructor, thereby indicating the presence of a usability problem associated with the simulation manikin. And users are not entirely satisfied with the manikin, considering the room for improvement indicated by the SUS score. This research investigates the effectiveness of geopolymer concrete incorporating fly ash in environments rich in chlorides;in contrast to conventional Portland cement concrete (OPC). The study emphasizes essential characteristics such as workability, mechanical strength, capillary water absorption, open porosity, and chloride migration. The experiments demonstrated that geopolymer concrete exhibits a 30% enhancement in slump values, reflecting improved workability, and its compressive strength rose by 14.90–23.94% when compared with OPC. A significant reduction in binder content led to a notable decrease in capillary water absorption, highlighting a positive impact on long-term durability. With time, geopolymer concrete showed a reduction in open porosity and chloride migration coefficient, indicating better resistance to chloride penetration in marine settings. Although these outcomes underscore the potential of geopolymer concrete to improve structural durability, especially in marine infrastructure, additional optimization is required to tackle its relatively higher capillary water absorption and chloride migration during the initial stages. These results contribute to the ongoing investigation of sustainable building materials, offering valuable insights into geopolymer concrete’s ability to endure severe chloride exposure and serve as a durable solution for corrosion management in marine infrastructure. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Shiraz University 2024.

Glaucoma, a serious vision illness that can result in irreversible vision loss, has a huge influence on the health of people all over the world because it causes damage to the optic nerve. The purpose of this research is to improve the accuracy and efficiency of screenings and lessen the impact of the condition on a global scale. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are utilized in this investigation to improve early glaucoma identification. Several different CNN architectures and data pre-processing methods were investigated using the PAPILA dataset. These methods and architectures included VGG19, VGG16, InceptionV3, Xception, EfficientNetB0, ResNet50, and DenseNet121. It is recommended to use VGG16 for generic detection that does not require any specific pre-processing. According to the study's findings, EfficientNetB0 attained a remarkable area under the curve (AUC) of 78.29% (0.78), highlighting its potential utility in increasing glaucoma detection. © 2023 IEEE.
