Background: Diabetes mellitus is the most challenging and fastest-growing global public health concern. Approximately 10.5% of the global adult population is affected by diabetes, and almost half of them are undiagnosed. The growing at-risk population exacerbates the shortage of health resources, with an estimated 10.6% and 6.2% of adults worldwide having impaired glucose tolerance and impaired fasting glycemia, respectively. All current diabetes screening methods are invasive and opportunistic and must be conducted in a hospital or laboratory by trained professionals. At-risk participants might remain undetected for years and miss the precious time window for early intervention to prevent or delay the onset of diabetes and its complications. Objective: We aimed to develop an artificial intelligence solution to recognize elevated blood glucose levels (≥7.8 mmol/L) noninvasively and evaluate diabetic risk based on repeated measurements. Methods: This study was conducted at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore, and 500 participants were recruited (mean age 38.73, SD 10.61 years;mean BMI 24.4, SD 5.1 kg/m2). The blood glucose levels for most participants were measured before and after consuming 75 g of sugary drinks using both a conventional glucometer (Accu-Chek Performa) and a wrist-worn wearable. The results obtained from the glucometer were used as ground-truth measurements. We performed extensive feature engineering on photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor data and identified features that were sensitive to glucose changes. These selected features were further analyzed using an explainable artificial intelligence approach to understand their contribution to our predictions. Results: Multiple machine learning models were trained and assessed with 10-fold cross-validation, using participant demographic data and critical features extracted from PPG measurements as predictors. We theoretically investigate a Thouless pumping scheme in the one-dimensional topological Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model for single and multiple band-gap systems when implemented in a discrete nematic liquid crystal arrangement. For an electrically controlled SSH waveguide array, we numerically demonstrate edge-to-edge light transport at low power levels. On the other hand, at higher powers, the transport is frustrated by light-induced nonlinear defect states, giving rise to robust all-optical switching.

Introduction: Alzheimer's disease (AD) reports heterogeneity of neuropsychological symptoms misleading the differential diagnosis with other forms of dementia, such as dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). About 50% of DLB patients are misdiagnosed as AD cases. Likewise, the diagnosis of both diseases is mainly based on clinical characteristics. However, differentiating AD of those with DLB based on neuropsychological symptoms and anatomical and functional brain changes remains challenging. Aim: To establish the main neuropsychological, anatomical, and functional similarities and differences in patients with AD and DLB. Methods: The present study followed the PRISMA guidelines and included studies from the PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Sciences databases, published between January 2000 and July 2022. Results: Forty-one articles were included in this systematic review for critical analysis. Our results suggest that the cognitive key domains to consider in the differential diagnosis are memory, executive function, attention, visuospatial/visuoconstructive skills, and verbal fluency (both semantic and phonological). The stage and severity of both diseases would be essential for differential diagnosis. On the other hand, the anatomical and functional changes suggest a similar atrophy pattern between AD and DLB in the frontal, parietal, temporal, hippocampal, and precuneus regions. Conclusion: The differential diagnosis between AD and DLB is challenging in clinical practice. Career Centre has a main role as a division in Vocational Secondary School (VSS) to bridge the students and alumni with their work field. Finding out how the success of the Career Centre's performance is very important for evaluation purposes. This study aimed to: (1) find out the role of the Career Centre in distributing the graduates of VSS in Yogyakarta at the workplace; (2) find out the obstacle experienced and its solution. This was evaluation research using the quantitative descriptive approach. The results showed that Career Centre's role was good accumulatively viewed from five aspects: (1) as seeker and provider of employment information; (2) conducting a coaching and employee briefing for students/alumni; (3) regarding stakeholders' partnership; (4) regarding recruitment, selection, and graduate distribution; and (5) graduates tracing. As doing their role, Career Centres faced some obstacles, such as a limited number of administrators, mismatching skills among vocational graduates, less developed IT utilisation, and less organized administrative management. Career Centre's performance has not been optimal thus it needs innovation. Optimizing technology utilisation by creating an information system with important and helpful features will improve the Career Centre in doing their role. Those features will facilitate the students, alumni, and administrators regarding job vacancies and recruitment information, work field recommendation, graduates' tracing, administrative management, etc.

This research aims to help the user monitor their heart’s condition and notify other people in case of an emergency due to an abnormal heartbeat (normal heartbeat around 60-100 beats per minute). From the heart rate graph, the user could do a consultation with an expert in the nearest hospital using a map feature that will show the nearest hospital with a 1 KM radius from the user’s current location. The heart is undeniably an essential part of the human body system. The heart's missions are to pump blood to the lungs to expel the waste carbon dioxide that resulted from the respiration and pump blood that will deliver oxygen throughout the human body's circulation system. While the blood that carries oxygen being pumped throughout the human body, the heart will provide the oxygen to all cells. Body cells need to use oxygen to get the energy from food through a process called cellular respiration. Monitoring our heartbeat and pulse rate can increase people’s awareness about their heart’s health, motivating, and encouraging people to maintain a healthy eating plan and exercise. This research will be implemented ECG Sensor. The sensor will then send the data to the android application via HC-06 Bluetooth module. Monitoring the heart rate and analyzing the user’s heartbeat will be done in the android with a microcontroller device's help.

Climate change is one of the various problems faced by various countries. Many sectors that contribute to climate change, electricity, and heat production were identified as the main contributors to CO2 emissions worldwide. On the other hand, Spirulina sp. potential for becoming power generator because it has good photosynthetic efficiency as anolyte biophotovoltaic devices. This research aims to test the effectiveness of photovoltaic using Spirulina sp. and develop Spirulina sp. as streetlights. The prototype uses 21 pairs of Spirulina sp. microalgal fuel cells as generator, based on voltage measurements using 100 ml anolyte and 500 ml catholyte which produces voltage value 405 mV. Using 21 pairs of series circuits, the voltage value obtained is 17.6 V. This prototype is equipped with aeration system to support the life of Spirulina sp. and equipped with LDR sensor for automation refers to the presence/absence of sunlight. Based on the results, there are challenges in the form of prototype sizes that are not suitable for streetlights in general, so further studies are needed to implement and commercial photovoltaic streetlights based on Spirulina sp. microalgal fuel cells.

Technology Transfer (TT) refers to the movement of technical knowledge between organizations, including tools, expertise, and capacities that are useful in new productive contexts. Based on this premise, this study presents a systematic literature review (SLR) and a bibliometric analysis to explore the relationship between technology transfer and food security in emerging territories during 2014–2024. The Scopus and Web of Science databases were used, selecting only scientific and review articles in English. The methodology included the use of R's "Analyze Results" and "bibliometrix" tools for bibliometric analysis, following the PRISMA 2020 declaration for the SLR. 393 articles were identified across both databases, with 52 duplicates. Of the remaining 337 texts, 72 fullfilled the PICO criteria, and 55 were finally selected, focusing on the impact of technology transfer on food security. The bibliometric results indicate that 76.9 % of the documents analyzed are scientific articles and 20.4 % are reviews. The countries with the highest production in this topic were the United States, China, India, Germany and Brazil, while the most represented areas were Agriculture, Biological Sciences, Development of Sciences and Social Sciences. Although these issues are fundamental, the analysis highlights limited development in emerging territories, evidencing technological and socioeconomic barriers. This work highlights the importance of strengthening technology transfer strategies to address food insecurity, promoting agricultural sustainability and resilience in the face of climate change. The findings offer a robust foundation for future research and the formulation of effective public policies.

In this paper, we consider the one-dimensional porous elastic system with mixed dissipation term at the point x= 0 acting only on the volumetric fraction of the system. We prove that the operator A associated with the problem is an infinitesimal generator of a C–semigroup of contractions and we prove the exponential stability if an important restriction is imposed on the constitutive coefficients. © 2020, Università degli Studi di Ferrara.

The Fractional Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation (FNLS) is an equation that is generally used to describe the interaction of boson particles in the trap potential. This paper discusses the stability of the stationary solution of the FNLS (2+1) dimensional equation using the Newton-Raphson method as a method for determining the stationary solution. The stability of the stationary solution of the FNLS is determined by analyzing the distribution of real-part and imaginary-part of eigenvalues listed on the complex plane. The results obtained in this study are found that the solution to the 1-dimensional FNLS is a stable system. This solution is obtained by analyzing the distribution of eigenvalues in the complex plane, where in the solution to the 1-dimensional FNLS there are only imaginary-part eigenvalues without any real-part eigenvalues. Unlike the case with the solution of the 2-dimensional FNLS equation, the eigenvalues obtained have a real-part of eigenvalues. These eigenvalues represent that the solution to the 2-dimensional FNLS equation is an unstable system. It is an indicator that the soliton which is the solution of the FNLS equation for the 2-dimensional case will be damaged for a certain time.
