This article has indicated optical coherent differential polarization (DP) 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) transceiver systems with free-space optical (FSO) channel in the presence of differential coding scheme. The optical coherent DP 16-QAM receiver executes the reverse process conversion of the optical signal into an electrical one that is detected to the users. The proposed optical coherent DP-16 QAM transceiver systems based FSO channel model with differential coding has been presented and compared with the previous model. However, the simulation results have confidence realization about the superiority of the proposed simulation model. Hence the proposed optical coherent DP-16 QAM transceiver systems simulation model with differential coding is verified and validated the enhancement performance based on simulation performance parameters. © 2024 Walter de Gruyter GmbH. The growing concerns about the environment, depletion of fossil fuels, and increasing energy consumption have led to a rise in the adoption of renewable energy sources. However, integrating these green energy sources into the existing power system requires infrastructure modifications. One popular approach is the establishment of off-grid operations through the use of microgrids. Microgrids are small-scale power systems that can operate both connected to and disconnected from the main power grid. This study focuses on a DC microgrid that utilizes a renewable energy system to power DC loads in case of a conventional grid failure. The system incorporates various components such as a universal diode rectifier, a boost converter, a small wind turbine (SWT) connected to a permanent magnet synchronous generator, and the Incremental Conductance (IC) algorithm. These components are employed to maximize the output power of the boost converter and maintain precise control over the output voltage, ensuring reliability. To efficiently operate the switching element and achieve a fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technique and voltage regulation despite varying wind speeds, a modified IC MPPT control method is utilized. A MATLAB/Simulink model representing an SWT system for a DC microgrid is developed to assess the dependability of the proposed system under changing wind speeds. © 2024 IEEE.

A mass of abnormal cells that form inside or outside the brain is called a brain tumor. Adults are at high risk of developing brain tumors, which can cause serious organ dysfunction and even death. Detecting tumors manually is a tedious and difficult method that might yield erroneous findings. As a result, these tumors must be meticulously classified to offer a complete medical diagnosis and design an appropriate treatment plan. Estimating the patient's chances of survival is difficult since tumors are uncommon and can vary greatly in size, location, and history. In order to address these issues, the use of two different deep learning frameworks for multi-class brain tumor classification utilizing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data was examined in this study. Significant evaluation metrics, including F1 score, recall, accuracy, and precision, were applied to these models. Both models demonstrated significant improvements over prior brain tumor classification studies, illustrating that deep learning algorithms may be used in the future to accurately diagnose brain tumors and enable medical personnel to make well-informed judgments regarding patients' treatment courses. This study proposes two classification algorithms: ResNet50, that obtained a success rate of 99.39%, and EfficientNetB0, obtained accuracy rate of 99.75%. © 2024 IEEE.

Recommender systems are tools that help end users recommend products and obtain information about their preferences by going online. Today's online bookstores compete with each other in a variety of ways. One of the most powerful ways to efficiently increase revenue by attracting customers is a referral system. This study offers a clear, understandable method for recommending books that aids readers in selecting the best book. The proposed methodology works on training of database and feedback to provide meaningful information that helps users make decisions. In this paper recommendation system is developed by using collaborative filtering method. The machine learning (ML) model KNN is proposed to categorize the books as per user preferences. The overall architecture of the proposed system is introduced and its implementation is demonstrated. © 2023 IEEE.

Breast cancer is the primary cause of death among women globally and existing screening techniques are both invasive and costly. In this research work, a rectangular microstrip patch antenna is simulated to identify the existence of a tumor by observing the impacts in the ISM band (2.4 GHz-2.5 GHz) of microwave signals. A simplified model of normal and contaminated breast tissue, antenna substrate Flame Retardant 4 (FR-4), copper ground and patch components are used in our study. To evaluate the effectiveness of the device, a human breast phantom made of layers of glandular and epidermal tissue was developed. A voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of 1.112869 and an S-parameter value of -25.44603 dB was obtained. A comparative study of the antenna performance is accomplished with and without the presence of a tumor. The assessed simulated performance implies that it can be an enhanced, precise, and reliable screening technique for breast cancer detection. © 2023 IEEE.

In this Letter, we introduce and experimentally verify a very simple tunable-phase oscillator structure based on cascaded standard filter sections. In particular, a standard inverting second-order low-pass filter is cascaded with a first-order bi-linear filter in a closed loop resulting in a third-order structure that can be made marginally stable. The phase difference between the outputs of the two filter sections is a design parameter that is tunable independent of the oscillation frequency or start-up gain. © 2022 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Ridge Gap waveguide (RGW) has been a famous metallic transmission line in microwave and antenna technology applications since 2009. This structure has many advantages, that have outweighed its disadvantages, especially in high-frequency applications. However, the similarity of this technology to the ridge waveguide (RW) raised the question about the effectiveness of this waveguide in comparison to the RW. In this paper, the insertion loss of RGW and RW is compared. This comparison shows in terms of loss in Ku band there is no evident difference between them. However, RGW shows slightly better power handling capability compared to RW. Gysel power divider (GPD) has been designed, simulated, and measured in Ku band with both structures to have a proper comparison. Both power dividers covered the Ku-band, and even the lower side of K band was partially covered. The measured result of both structures showed good agreement with the simulation, which means both of them have low sensitivity to manufacturing error in the intended bandwidth;Another aspect of this research is that the manufacturing cost of RW is noticeably lower than RGW, which should be considered when one of these technologies is being considered for large-scale production. © 2024 IEEE.

Fine Tuning Attribute Weighted Naïve Bayes (FTAWNB) is a reliable modified Naïve Bayes model. Even though it is able to provide high accuracy on ordinal data, this model is sensitive to outliers. To improve the performance of FTAWNB, this research modified the Partial Instances Reduction (PIR) technique to make the FTAWNB more adaptive to outliers. Nevertheless, in contrast to the original PIR technique, which substitutes missing values for data values deemed outliers, the PIR technique suggested in this study replaces data values deemed outliers using a Naïve Bayes weighting approach. The attribute values from the outlier data are replaced with the highest probability values for the attributes in the actual class. This PIR technique is referred to as modified PIR. The FTAWNB model with modified PIR has been evaluated using the Gaming Disorder dataset. Replacing the four attributes with the least amount of information resulted in accuracy gains of 99.74%, an increase of 1.53% over the FTAWNB model. The experimental result shows that adding the modified PIR technique to the FTAWNB model can handle the outlier in the data, proving it by increasing the performance in terms of accuracy, precision, and recall without pruning the dataset used. © 2025, Ital Publication. The utilization of renewable energy (RE) has increased worldwide because it is one of the effective ways to minimize greenhouse gases. The power outputs of photovoltaic (PV) and wind farms depend on weather conditions. High penetration of intermittent renewable energy (IRE) will put pressure on frequency regulation, and frequency fluctuation will increase because IRE does not participate in frequency regulation. This study evaluated the role of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the frequency regulation of a grid with large-scale IRE. The simulations were conducted in the MATLAB-Simulink environment, taking into consideration the operating conditions of the Republic of South Africa (RSA) power system, such as frequency deviation limits. Eskom's (the RSA utility company) policy requires its operators to keep the system frequency between 49.85 Hz and 50.15 Hz 95% of the time. The BESS was integrated into the load frequency control (LFC) model to assist with frequency regulation and maintain the frequency between 49.85 Hz and 50.15 Hz. © 2023 IEEE.
