Design and analysis of discrete PID controller for Luo converter

A thorough and effective analysis of the positive output super lift Luo converter along with the discrete PID controller has been carried out. The converter is designed to operate under continuous conduction mode and modelled using state space averaging method. The closed loop control is based on time domain approach and current mode discrete PID controller thus, designed tunes the system in such a way that the converter specifications are satisfied. The Luo converter along with the controller thus designed is robust, shows stiff output voltage regulation without any overshoots or undershoots and highly efficient. The steady state error is almost zero. Extensive simulation is carried out and the results are illustrated. The controller platform is verified using LabVIEW. Cloud storage benefits both individuals and organisations by making it simpler to properly share their data over the internet. This simplifies the process of transferring data. As a consequence of this, there is a significant margin for error associated with the management of the entry of shared information. In this section, we provide insights based on finances and ownership that may be used to govern distributed storage systems. There is no centralised authority, and all real estate agents and brokers independently distribute secret keys to customers;2) each characteristic authority has the ability to gradually evict any customer from its space, with the end goal of such waived customers no longer being able to obtain information that has been redistributed in this manner;3) cloud servers have the ability to update encoded information;and 3) we construct an inter-authority system. Neuromorphic computers have been presented as alternatives to traditional von Neumann systems. Neuromorphic systems mimic neural structures of the human brain to make the energy-efficient and high-performance computations. This paper proposes high-speed with no DSP resources FPGA implementation of the SAM neuron model and its fully connected networks with random synaptic weights. The synthesis reports of the implemented SAM neuron with 50, 100, 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, 6000, and 8000 random inputs have been presented. Also, the results of the synthesized fully connected populations comprising 50, 100, 500, 1000, and 1500 SAM neurons have been reported. Accordingly, the FPGA synthesis results of the proposed spiking neuron and networks are noteworthy compared to the state of the arts in terms of performance and DSP resources.

The problems of high voltage equipment usually come from the imperfection of solid insulation, which may be caused by poor workmanship during cable installation, leading to multi-void inside solid insulation and subsequently partial discharge when that cable is put in service. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate the discharge phenomena of multi-void inside solid insulation by creating artificial defects in epoxy resin and testing under AC and very low frequency voltage sources. The test object consists of a single void with different void diameters and multi-void created by injecting the air voids at atmospheric pressure into epoxy resin. The partial discharge inside a single void and multi-void is detected by using a conventional and unconventional sensor. The results of PD measurement are represented in the phase-resolved partial discharge (PRPD) and several partial discharge parameters, such as PD charge magnitude and PD repetition rate. In addition, the results are analyzed to observe the impact of the multi-void with different conditions such as variable void diameter, the thickness of epoxy resin, type of voltage source, and PD sensor. The test can specify trends toward breakdown and the severity of multi-void inside solid insulation. © 2022 IEEE.

In this thesis, we investigate the combined application of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), cloud computing and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks to facilitate advanced industrial automation through the industrial analytics enabled by scalable and real time data processing. IIoT is an industrial approach to generating very large amounts of data from connected industrial devices that can be parsed through cloud computing to yield immediate insights into production processes, equipment health, and operational efficiency. Since this is a time series data, we employ LSTM (A type of recurrent neural network) in this architecture which is able to handle time series data well and is a good fit for predictive maintenance and anomaly detection problems in industrial setting. The proposed system involves three main components: Second, the IoT collection of data from IIoT devices, storage of data in the cloud, and processing of data are stored in the cloud; and finally, real time analysis of data using LSTM models. The LSTM models train on historical datasets containing sensor readings and machine logs, to make accurate equipment failure and process optimization predictions. For large scale data processing we use cloud computing platforms like AWS or Azure to manage where these big databases are located. Evaluation of the system performance is presented in the study with regard to prediction accuracy, latency and a comparison of LSTM with other ML techniques. We can see that that there's strong potential for these technologies to have a powerful impact on industrial automation, downtime, and operational efficiency. Yet, there are still data security and system scalability issues to explore. This research shows that IIoT implants and cloud computing, in conjunction with LSTM, can be designed to transform existing production processes.

Demand and consumption for electrical energy are continuously increasing. To meet this demand, new energy sources are being harnessed, and the capacities of existing production facilities are being enhanced. Despite supply chain challenges, construction delays, and high raw material prices, between 500 and 550 GW of new renewable energy capacity was achieved globally in 2024. It is projected that renewable energy will account for nearly 95% of the expansion in global power capacity by 2026. The increase in the number of renewable power plants daily forces the current carrying capacity of the transmission lines to be sized and installed. Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) systems allow real-time monitoring and rating of a transmission line's conductor deflection, surface temperature, ambient temperature, and weather data. These systems enable the capacity of the existing transmission lines to be at the maximum level, integrate solar and wind energy into these lines without the need for new infrastructure installations, and minimize the fault detection and maintenance-repair processes. In this study, a prototype DLR system, encompassing both hardware and software, has been designed. The prototype has been tested in a laboratory environment on a Sparrow 2AWG ACSR conductor and remotely monitored in real-time. This design calculates the ampacity according to the IEEE 738–2012 Std. methodology by measuring the weather conditions and conductor temperature values with sensors.

Federated learning (FL) methods face major challenges including communication bottleneck, data heterogeneity and security concerns in edge IoT scenarios. In this paper, inspired by the success of biological intelligence (BI) of gregarious organisms, we propose a novel edge learning approach for swarm IoT, called communication-efficient and Byzantine-robust distributed swarm learning (CB-DSL), through a holistic integration of AI-enabled stochastic gradient descent and BI-enabled particle swarm optimization. To deal with non-independent and identically distributed (non-i.i.d.) data issues and Byzantine attacks, a very small amount of global data samples are introduced in CB-DSL and shared among IoT workers, which not only alleviates the local data heterogeneity effectively but also enables to fully utilize the exploration-exploitation mechanism of swarm intelligence. Further, we provide convergence analysis to theoretically demonstrate that the proposed CB-DSL is superior to the standard FL with better convergence behavior. In addition, to measure the effectiveness of the introduction of the globally shared dataset, we also evaluate the model divergence by deriving its upper bound. Numerical results verify that the proposed CB-DSL outperforms the existing benchmarks in terms of faster convergence speed, higher convergent accuracy, lower communication cost, and better robustness against non-i.i.d. data and Byzantine attacks 1 1 Our code can be found at:https://***/fuanxiyin/***..

In order to bolster future wireless networks, there has been a great deal of interest in non-terrestrial networks, especially aerial platforms including high-altitude platform stations (HAPS) and uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs). These platforms can integrate advanced technologies such as reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). In this regard, this paper proposes a multi-layer network architecture consisting of HAPS and UAV, where the former acts as a HAPS super macro base station (HAPS-SMBS), while the latter serves as a relay node for the ground Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The UAV is equipped with active transmissive RIS, which is a novel technology with promising benefits. We also utilize multiple-input single-output (MISO) technology, i.e., multiple antennas at the HAPS-SMBS and a single antenna at the IoT devices. Additionally, we consider NOMA as the multiple access technology as well as the existence of hardware impairments as a practical limitation. We compare the proposed system model with various scenarios, all involving the HAPS-SMBS and RIS-equipped UAV relay combination, but with different types of RIS, antenna configurations, and access technologies. Sum rate and energy efficiency are used as performance metrics, and the findings demonstrate that, in comparison to all benchmarks, the proposed system yields significant performance gains. The paper describes the energy consumption from the battery based on the current measurements for various cases, i.e., speed (PWL adjustment) and loads. The main purpose of the research is to have additional and reliable information about power consumption and battery life estimation for autonomous guided vehicles (AGV). The authors propose a two-step algorithm. In the first step, a linear classifier was proposed. Then, the KNN classifier was tested; however, it did not give satisfactory results, so it was finally decided to use the random forest to estimate the load and PWL. The time domain current measurement is evaluated, and the beforementioned algorithms process the selected statistical measures. It has been proven that a two-step algorithm allows for achieving high accuracy. Based on the current observation, the paper is a good starting point for further investigation of the AGV because it is usually implemented in the AGV – so it does not require additional hardware. Moreover, it can lead to better energy management and increase battery lifetime.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) has become more common in recent days due to overweight, obesity, stress, and depression. It is a serious disorder where the patient's breathing repeatedly stops and starts. It is linked to social, economic, and health consequences. Due to the complicated design of the existing work, a new design of a simplified Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) device with LabVIEW software has been proposed. In lab view software, the different virtual components like the blower, relay, and respiratory sensor will be placed. First, the virtual patient is positioned in virtual LabVIEW to check whether the patient is affected by OSA or a normal level patient. The blower is mainly used to level the flow of air (i.e., inhale and exhale). Further, the relay is employed to provide a time delay function, and it is utilized to control high-voltage and current circuits. In LabVIEW, the breathing level and threshold level frequencies are fixed with the aid of a respiratory sensor. The key aim of this proposed work is to control OSA patients. If the patient suffers from OSA, the respiratory sensor can supply the air pressure to the OSA patients based on different respiratory rate ranges.
