The efforts to mitigate floods are necessary. One of the tools that can contribute to flood mitigation is the Flood Early Warning System (FEWS). The main goal of this study is to design a prototype of FEWS that can be easily used anywhere, anytime, and provide accurate water level readings. The prototype system is designed using an Ultrasonic Sensor for water level detection, an alarm system, and Blynk as a web and mobile dashboard. The prototype consists of four main components: Ultrasonic Sensor HC-SR04, Arduino Nano, NodeMCU, and HC-12. It comprises two units: a transmitter unit and a receiver unit. To determine the accuracy and consistency of the Ultrasonic Sensor, the author conducted testing using calibration, non-continuous, and continuous methods. The accuracy obtained was 99.71%. Additionally, the author observed high consistency in the readings of the ultrasonic sensor, as evident from continuous sensor reading test results. Furthermore, the receiver unit successfully displayed output according to the water level threshold for each condition. Additionally, the Blynk web and mobile dashboard were able to display output as per the design. However, we suggest adding data logging features and also solar panels as a renewable power source to support the improved prototype system. © 2023 IEEE.

Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) relies in routing protocols for route discovery from sender to receiving nodes. There are two routing protocols that are evaluated: Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol (HWMP) and Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR). Packet delivery is very crucial in telecommunication. Data rate of connections relate closely with the performance of packet delivery in telecommunication especially WMN. HWMP and OLSR have different mechanisms of route discovery which are affected by the changes of data rate of connections and can affect the packet delivery of data. This experiment focuses in evaluating the performance of both protocols under different conditions of data rate of connections. The objective of this experiment is to evaluate the performance of both protocols and find the relevancy between the results of simulations and theories of the mechanism of both protocols. All of the simulations are done with using Network Simulator Version 3. The simulations are done for more than 100 times in order to get the consistency of the results of simulations and to evaluate the natural behaviors of both protocols. © 2014 IEEE.

A stable light intensity level of a classroom can actually be obtained by integrating automatic lamp brightness controller with automatic blind system. A brightness controller of the lamp, especially incandescent type can be developed by adopting the principle of phase firing angle. It should be implemented in such a way so that the firing angle is set precisely to keep the classroom's light intensity stays in a steady level. Next, the opening and closing process of the blind can also be done using stepper motor which will be controlled automatically by a microcontroller through a hardware driver. This is intended to take the advantage of light contribution from the outside instead of directly switching on or brightening the lamp. © 2013 IEEE.

A combined user-order and chunk-order algorithm to minimize the average BER for chunk allocation in SCFDMA systems

A Chunk by chunk-based allocation is an emerging subcarrier allocation in Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) due to its low complexity. In this paper, a combined userorder and chunk-order allocation for solving chunk allocation problem which minimizes the average BER of all users while improving the throughput in SC-FDMA uplink is proposed. The subcarrier grouping into a chunk of all users on both-order allocations are performed by averaging the BER of a contiguous subcarriers within a chunk. The sequence of allocation is according to the average of users' BER on userorder allocation and the average of chunks' BER on chunk-order allocation. The best allocation is determined by choosing one of both-order allocations which provides the smaller BER systems. The simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm can outperform the previous algorithms in term of average BER and throughput without increase the time complexity. © 2016 Universitas Ahmad Dahlan.

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has a spirit to become a Conservation and International Reputation University is realized through strategic missions. One of the conservation-oriented implementation programs is H-BAT (Green, Clean and Healthy) program. In its implementation, there is a problem, namely the achievement of H-BAT program has not been maximized during the last 3 years in assessment. The objectives of this research are: (1) to identify of the potential and character of environmental support in the work units;(2) to determine the achievement of the indication of a green campus based on the assessment indicators on H-BAT program. This research was carried out in four stages: (1) Data collection;(2) Spatial data processing;(3) Non Spatial data processing;(4) Analysis (ecological, technical standards);The results achieved in June 2020 are as follows: FT got 87,50%, FE got 85,87%, FMIPA got 81,52%, BUHK got79,49%, FIP got 73,91%, LP3 got 69,23%, LP2M got 63,46%, FIS got 60,33%,PPS got 57,07%, FIK got 56,52%, FH got 52,72%, FBS got 49,46%, TIK got 40,38%, BPB got 34,62%, Library got 30,13%, Archive got 17,31%. From these results, it can be seen that there is a lack of maximum achievement due to, among others, the lack of guidance and technical assistance in the management of the unit. So it is necessary to complete governance guidelines and technical assistance that are more intensive in unit governance to achieve the goals of UNNES as a green campus. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Renewable energy is a key focus of government policy aimed at reducing dependence on fossil fuels. In alignment with the Renewable Energy mix target and government initiatives promoting solar power, PLN Indonesia Power Bali PGU has installed a floating solar power plant on the surface of the Muara Nusa Dua reservoir. The 100 kWp floating solar power plant at Muara Nusa Dua serves as a showcase project for the G20 activities in Bali. This study presents a feasibility analysis of the 100 kWp Floating Solar Power Plant in the Muara Nusa Dua reservoir, conducted by PLN Indonesia Power Bali PGU from both technical and economic perspectives. Data collection involved real-time monitoring of energy production from October 2022 onwards and detailed tracking of monthly investment costs for the PLTS. Simulation results indicate that the PLTS can generate 145,930.08 kWh annually, yielding an economic benefit of approximately Rp. 236,406,730.00 per year. The analysis concludes that the 100 kWp Muara Nusa Dua Floating PLTS is viable and beneficial both technically and economically. © 2024 IEEE.

This article presents the development and implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT) based Smart Controlled Poultry Farm Management System to enhance the efficiency and welfare of day-old chicks. The system prototype employs a DS18B20 temperature sensor and a microcontroller to automatically monitor and regulate the temperature, feeding, and drinking processes within the cage. Additionally, a web platform is provided for real-time condition monitoring informing the owner of any problems that may occurred. Temperature within the cage is maintained in the range of 30°C to 35°C with a measurement error rate of ±1°C. This temperature range is controlled by switching the fan on and off, as well as opening and closing the curtain. Experimental results indicate that the system has the potential to improve the efficiency of maintaining optimal chick weight and temperature, as well as ensuring consistent feeding times, all of which are crucial for sustainable poultry production. These parameters were monitored over a period of 21 days. © 2024 IEEE.

Fluid Friction in Pipes Unit with Hydraulics Bench (AFT/B) is designed to determine the coefficient of friction in pipes of some diameter and roughness, and to study pressure losses on various types of valves. Measuring pressure of liquid is using manometer analog. Development of radio frequency communications can help people share information. Unfortunately, conventional measurement of fluid pressure in manometer is inaccurate, spending much time, and a lot of human error. In this paper, we used radio as a communication to share data. We also used an ultrasonic sensor to measure the difference height of tube. Data will be sent via transmitter nrf24L01 and HC12 using FSK and GFSK modulation which have frequencies 2.4 Ghz. and 433Mhz. A receiver obtains data and sends to many users using Raspberry Pi 3. The accuray of measurement sensor is 99,34%, manometer worked properly, radio HC 12 can transmit data until 400 meters, and radio nrf24l01 200 meters. © 2018 IEEE.

This paper proposes a feature extraction subsystem for a chord recognition system, which gives a fewer number of feature extraction coefficients than the previous ones. The method of the proposed feature extraction is FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) based segment averaging and subsampling. Guitar chords were used in developing the proposed feature extraction. In general, the method of the proposed feature extraction is as follows. Firstly, the input signal is transformed using FFT. Secondly, the left half portion of the transformed signal is processed in succession using SHPS (Simplified Harmonic Product Spectrum), logarithmic scaling, segment averaging, and subsampling. The output of subsampling is the result of the proposed feature extraction. Based on the test results, the proposed feature extraction was quite efficient for use in a chord recognition system. For the recognition rate category above 98%, the chord recognition system only required a number of seven feature extraction coefficients. In addition, for the recognition rate category above 90%, the chord recognition system only required a number of six feature extraction coefficients. © 2020 IEEE.

Generally, a sampling frequency of chord recognition systems follows the Shannon sampling theorem. This paper investigates the influence of sampling frequency that does not follow the Shannon sampling theorem in a chord recognition system. The chord recognition system uses a transform domain approach that makes use a DST (Discrete Sine Transform). In addition, the chord recognition system uses segment averaging for feature extraction. An acoustic-electric guitar is used in this work. Based on the experiments, a decrease in the sampling frequency from 2500 Hz down to 156 Hz has almost no influence in the recognition rate. As a first note, we only consider the recognition rate above 95%. As a second note, we use at least frame blocking length of 128 points and feature extraction length of 16 points. Therefore, if that kind of recognition rate could be accepted, the sampling frequency as low as 156 Hz could still be used for guitar chord recognition. © 2019 IEEE.
