Electronic devices have become an integral component in our daily activities. In fact, the consumption of electrical energy in households reached 49% in 2018, and is expected to increase to 58% in 2050. Concurrently, the LPG is the second highest consumed energy in the household and is expected to increase to 37% in 2050. However, the devices utilizing these energies could lead to a danger such as housefire if not operated and treated carefully. An Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart home monitoring system would solve this problem, especially by effectively monitoring several parameters in the house simultaneously. In this study, a system is built to monitor and control three rooms in the house independently and simultaneously. The sensors and/or actuators in all rooms are controlled by NodeMCU ESP8266s. All microcontrollers are linked via the Internet to a local server, where all data is analyzed, saved, and transmitted to the user using the MQTT protocol. The monitoring is done by the user via MQTT dashboard in the smartphone. Following testing, the three microcontrollers are fully capable of exchanging data with the user's smartphone. The humidity changed by 1%, while the temperature changed by 0.1 °C. Perfect data interchange is possible between the relays, flame, gas, and movement activity sensor. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents an overview of the Hysteresis Current Controller (HCC) application in Renewable Energy Based Power System. The beginning concept of HCC is considered to be formally introduced by Thomas M. Freederiksen and Ronald W. Russel in 1971 that was registered in US Patent No. US3725673. The fundamental principle of HCC is based on the comparison of the instantaneous load current to the instantaneous sine wave reference where the difference between the two is maintained within the defined upper and lower band. There are some advantages of using HCC including simple, insensitivity to load parameters variations, fast dynamic response and inherent maximum current limiting characteristics. Therefore, based on its robustness, HCC has currently applied also in renewable energy based power plants such as PV converter system, Power Electronics System of Wind Energy, and in SMES control system for Wind Energy Application. However, the drawback of HCC system was also discussed in some papers compared with other control systems, for instant HCC is giving high chattering in torque in IM drive test. Therefore the combination of HCC with other controllers also becomes a new trend to improve the applied system that involving HCC as the main controller. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Reliability, and continuity of service to customers is the top priority in the power system defense scheme. One important criterion is avoiding instability. Most conventional stability analysis is related to power swings due to frequency variations because the frequency is directly affected by power plant performance. However, in the transmission line, voltage instability is crucial because it practically give direct impact on customers. Especially for high voltage consumers, poor voltage quality is very influential on the performance of industrial equipment such as electric motors, textile machinery, and other electronic equipment, so the voltage quality must be maintained to avoid complaints from these consumers. The merge of frequency and voltage criteria instability is becoming the main focus in recent studies. In a large power system, voltage stability problem usually happens due to excess of electrical demand and deficiency of power generation. To avoid voltage instability, under-voltage load shedding can be an option to remove buses with unstable voltage in the power system. This paper focuses on the Paiton-Situbondo 150 kV transmission lines as the backbone of the power transfer from Java to Bali to investigating the role and effectiveness of the combination of frequency and voltage threshold to maintain the system stability when the faults occur on the transmission lines. © 2020 IEEE.

The electric power system must have a protection system with reliable electric power isolation, so that the supply of electrical energy works properly and optimally. There are several kinds of disturbances in the electric power distribution system, one of which is a partial discharge. This study aims to investigate the effect of plate-rod electrodes on partial discharge, partial discharge voltage limits in solid insulation, and the characteristics of partial discharge in electrode media, and waveforms in partial discharge detection sensors. After conducting research, it was found that in the plate-rod type electrode media, the PDIV voltage appeared earlier than the plate-plate electrode media due to the cross-sectional area of the electrode media. And the limit of the pre-discharge voltage of PCB type solid insulation on the plate-bar electrodes is at a voltage of 1.3 kV. Several indicators to determine the characteristics of the partial discharge are background noise off (BGN off), background noise on (BGN on), partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV), and partial discharge voltage. After being examined, the value of each partial discharge detection voltage was obtained at negative and positive polarity voltages on the electrode plates and plate needles respectively 2.85 kV, 2.95 kV and 1.32 kV, 1.57 kV. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. This study aims to provide knowledge in order to save electricity consumption. The use of electrical energy is recorded at KWH meters. Saving electricity means limiting the use of electrical energy according to need. The use of electrical energy is based on the use of electrical power. Technically, this dimmer serves to regulate the use of electrical power. Some electrical equipment has been equipped with dimmers to regulate the operation of the equipment in accordance with the user's want, yet there are still many electrical equipment that is not equipped with dimmers. This is a problem in the efforts to save electricity. The method used in this study is applying passive components in electricity such as inductors, capacitors and resistors. These passive components are arranged to be used as filter circuits. With a 21 mH inductor with an air core, Farad's 12.5 micro capacitor, and 4.7 ohm resistor can be made as a passive filter that is installed before electric loads. The use of this filter circuit can save the use of electricity up to 15% at a load current of 2 amperes. Thus, electricity bill payments can be reduced by up to 15%. In the future, this research can be continued to improve the efficiency of electricity consumption by modifying passive filters. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

One of the methods used to increase channel capacity is the Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) methods. The increase in channel capacity in PD-NOMA multiple access means that the maximum power used by each user in each narrow band achieves increased power efficiency. Therefore, this research focuses on facilitating the increase in channel capacity by designing an antenna that produces a radiation pattern with many sharp main lobes and high gain. The multi-beam radiation pattern is obtained by using edge weighting. Therefore the antenna is designed with odd and even numbers represented by 1x5 and 1x6 antennas on the microstrip patch rectangular antenna at a frequency of 2.6 GHz. The effect of parasitic and non-parasite effects on the radiation pattern of a planar antenna with edge modeling is manageable in the main lobe, only in the side level lobe, which is not too significant. However, the number of main lobes on the 1x6 antenna has seven beam patterns, and the 1x5 antenna has five. The highest gain value obtains in the 1x6 design with a parasitic of 6.01 dB. This value meets the Gain requirements for 5G cellular systems. © 2023 IEEE.

The need for a communication system using VSAT technology on the Ku-Band band is now starting to develop in Indonesia, both the need for pay TV or internet provision, The problem in using VSAT Ku-band technology is propagation that occurs due to weather disturbances, especially rain. As a result of these weather conditions, it produces a high enough attenuation which can result in disruption, disturbance at a certain level can have an impact on service down. The switch diversity program is used to move channels from transmission networks that are affected by interference to other transmission channels. The fiber optic diversity channel under study has two channels. In this study, researchers conducted an analysis by making a comparison between two fiber optic cores using a diversity switch to determine the quality of the signal when the transmission path is exposed to rain. The results of the research on fiber optic links from the two transmission lines of one transmission obtain a signal quality that is less strong below the fair reference limit value where the value is-10.73 dB. Meanwhile, one transmission path has a fairly low attenuation value and signal reception is better close to the reference value. The geometric effects on the applied power dependence of the delay time preceding thermal breakdown in p-n junctions are predicted in terms of a linear heat-flow model and temperature-dependent reverse current. Measurements of the delay time on silicon planar p-n junctions of various areas are compared to the predictions and found to be in reasonable accord.

The demand for a high-efficiency lamp results in the development of different kinds of lighting sources, such as LED panels, and fluorescent lights. Those inventions provide high illumination with less heat, in comparison than incandescent lamps. However, the specifications (by manufacturers) are not always shown on the product packaging, or might be slightly different, a little bit higher or lower compared to the characteristics of the lighting sources. In this paper, the research group utilizes an integrating sphere system, one of the most well known experiment-based methods, by using an all-in-one integrating sphere system from the Lisun Group to characterize different kinds of lamps. From the experimental result, various parameters, such as power consumption, luminous efficacy, luminous flux, correlated color temperature, and color rendering index will be compared with the information on the packaging. This paper presents an analysis of the Unified Power Quality Conditioner-Photovoltaic (UPQC-PV) system under sag and interruption voltage with variable irradiance. The PV is connected to a three-phase three-wire (3P3W) distribution system with 380 volts (L-L) and a frequency of 50 hertz, through UPQC-DC link. This system is used to maintain and supply sensitive loads. This paper shows that in the sag voltage and irradiance levels of 200 W/m2 to 1200 W/m2, the 3P3W system uses UPQC-PV with proportional-integral (PI) still able to maintain the active load power above 3714 W. However, in the interruption voltage and same irradiance level, the load active power drops to between 2560 W and 2805 W. This research also shows that in the sag voltage and same irradiance levels, the 3P3W system uses UPQC-PV with PI still able to generate PV power between 500 W to 920 W. In the interruption voltage and same irradiance levels, the power that can be generated by PV increases between 1300 W to 1635 W. Otherwise, at 250 C and 1000 W/m2, the increase in PV power on interruption voltage has not been able to meet the load active power consumption, so it finally drops to 2650 W. This paper is simulated using Matlab/Simulink. © 2020 IEEE.
