This paper proposes the analysis of the material can be protected from transformer testing and presents a mathematical model of the power transformer. In this research, transformers were study in four protective materials, wood, rubber, glass and acrylic that are used in between the electric field measurement and the transformer. By simulating the test results of a transformer with a voltage of 230 kV. Computer-based simulation utilizing the finite element method (FEM) is exploited as a tool for visualizing electric fields distribution volume a power transformer. The simulation results showed that the material with the best protection against the electric field was wood insulation and the best installation location was a distance of 5 m from the transformer. © 2023 IEEE.

This research aims to determine the level of numeracy literacy skills of prospective physics teachers. This research uses descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The subjects of this research were prospective physics teachers who took part in waves courses and electromagnetic wave spectrum practicums in the physics education study program at Surabaya State University in 2 classes, with 23 people in each class. The instruments used are 3 test questions that measure literacy skills (finding information, interpreting, evaluating) and 8 questions that measure numeracy skills, namely, numeracy, reasoning, and application. The research data was analyzed quantitatively and descriptively. The results of the research showed that variations in the level of numeracy literacy skills before the atomic spectrum practicum activity were in the basic category, with an average of 49.5% of students having answered correctly as many as 46 students, then they were given treatment by carrying out EM wave practicum, the numeracy literacy abilities of students after being given the treatment were in the category requiring special intervention, there were 5 people, in the basic category there were 10 people, in the advanced category there were 18 people. In the very advanced category, there were 7 people. Overall, students have quite good abilities in finding information, interpreting information, evaluating information, and understanding information, which is in the advanced category with a percentage of correct answers of 74.12%, 72.98%, 72.70%, and 71, respectively. At the same time, the indicators of applying information and reasoning are still in the basic category at 32.46%. So, it can be concluded that students' numeracy literacy skills are quite good. However, several other treatments are still needed to improve literacy and numeracy skills. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

Sawdust is one of the industrial wastes which naturally contains low energy density. An effective method is needed to utilize this biomass as a solid fuel product. This work aimed to investigate the physical and combustion properties of bio-pellets produced from sawdust under the wet torrefaction method. To prepare sawdust bio-pellet a number of steps were carried out including the wet torrefaction process, dough preparation, pelletizing, and drying. Wet torrefaction was performed by hydrothermally treating the sample in an autoclave at a temperature of 130°C and pressure of 2 atm (g) for 80 minutes. For the hydrothermal process, the used acetic acid solution was varied with variations of 1.3 M, 1.8 M, and 2.3 M. Properties of the product were analyzed under proximate and bomb calorimetry analyses. To evaluate the combustion properties a purposely built test apparatus was developed equipped with a data logger system. Based on the results it can be observed that increases in torrefaction temperature and acetic acid concentration resulted in an increase in the calorific value as well as decreases in the ash content. The highest calorific value was 4745 kcal/kg obtained from sawdust torrefied in acetic acid with a concentration of 2.3 M at a temperature of 130?. This sample also exhibits the lowest ash content which is only 1.97%. The combustion test disclosed a maximum combustion temperature of 589? with a burning rate of 0.711 g/min. Overall, the wet torrefaction applied in this investigation was beneficially enhanced the properties of bio-pellet products. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

This study is conducted to compare three different cannulas;all purpose nasal cannula with 2 prongs, nasal pressure cannula with 2 prongs and single port nasal cannula which are commonly used for capnography device. These cannulas or sometimes called as nasal prong is connected to the device via nose of subjects studied. This procedure is a part of respiratory study to monitor lungs condition and breathing pattern. This study involves 47 subject where the exhaled breath was recorded to make comparison and choose the most suitable and effective for capnography waveform analysis. Utilizing Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) to find the normality of all the nasal cannula data based on capnogram waveform. The result from the analysis shows that the frequency distribution for type 1 nasal cannula which is also known as all-purpose nasal cannula had the feature values closer to the standard value. Our study proofs that all purpose nasal cannula sampling is the most suitable to capture exhaled breath for monitoring respiratory conditions. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper provides a comprehensive comparative analysis of the performance of four bioinspired algorithms (Differential Evolution, Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm, Moth-flame Optimization, and Particle Swarm Optimization) in designing a flatness-based controller for a ball and beam system simulated in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The assessment involves the tuning of feedback gains utilizing four distinct fitness functions: Integral Square Error, Integral Absolute Error, Integral Time Absolute Error, and an ad-hoc cost function. Hypothesis tests are employed to choose the optimal controllers from each combination for every bioinspired algorithm and a fitness function. Subsequently, a control performance analysis of these controllers for the ball and beam system is conducted, focusing on critical parameters such as overshoot, settling time, and steady-state error. This analysis demonstrates that all the controllers achieve a zero steady-state error. Noteworthy is the flatness-based controller tuned with the bioinspired Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm and utilizing the Integral Time Absolute Error fitness function, which stands out for achieving the fastest response with the lowest overshoot. This particular controller emerges as the most recommended choice for the specified application. © 2024 IEEE.

In dynamic ensemble selection (DES) techniques, the competence level of each classifier is estimated from a pool of classifiers, and only the most competent ones are selected to classify a specific test sample and predict its class labels. A significant challenge in DES is efficiently estimating classifier competence for accurate prediction, especially when these techniques employ the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm to define the competence region of a test sample based on a validation set (known as the dynamic selection dataset or DSEL). This challenge is exacerbated when the DSEL does not accurately reflect the original data distribution or contains noisy data. Such conditions can reduce the precision of the system, induce unexpected behaviors, and compromise stability. To address these issues, this paper introduces the self-generating prototype ensemble selection (***) framework, which combines meta-learning with prototype selection. The proposed meta-classifier of *** supports multiple classification algorithms and utilizes meta-features from prototypes derived from the original training set, enhancing the selection of the best classifiers for a test sample. The method improves the efficiency of KNN in defining competence regions by generating a reduced and noise-free DSEL set that preserves the original data distribution. Furthermore, the *** framework facilitates tailored optimization for specific classification challenges through the use of hyperparameters that control prototype selection and the meta-classifier operation mode to select the most appropriate classification algorithm for dynamic selection. Empirical evaluations of twenty-four classification problems have demonstrated that *** outperforms state-of-the-art DES methods as well as traditional single-model and ensemble methods in terms of accuracy, confirming its effectiveness across a wide range of classification contexts. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Ver

This paper presents a novel approach for noninvasive glucose monitoring using a Compact Complementary Split Ring Resonator (CCSRR) based sensor. The sensor design is initially simulated using High-Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) software, and then experimental validation is done. We carried out simulations with and without a finger phantom model to closely resemble conditions in real situations. The sensor exhibits high sensitivity and accuracy in detecting glucose concentrations within blood samples. Vector Network Analyzer was used along with the sensor to validate the simulation results. The results demonstrate close agreement between simulation and experimental data, affirming the effectiveness of the proposed sensor design for non-invasive glucose monitoring. © 2024 IEEE.

The efforts to mitigate floods are necessary. One of the tools that can contribute to flood mitigation is the Flood Early Warning System (FEWS). The main goal of this study is to design a prototype of FEWS that can be easily used anywhere, anytime, and provide accurate water level readings. The prototype system is designed using an Ultrasonic Sensor for water level detection, an alarm system, and Blynk as a web and mobile dashboard. The prototype consists of four main components: Ultrasonic Sensor HC-SR04, Arduino Nano, NodeMCU, and HC-12. It comprises two units: a transmitter unit and a receiver unit. To determine the accuracy and consistency of the Ultrasonic Sensor, the author conducted testing using calibration, non-continuous, and continuous methods. The accuracy obtained was 99.71%. Additionally, the author observed high consistency in the readings of the ultrasonic sensor, as evident from continuous sensor reading test results. Furthermore, the receiver unit successfully displayed output according to the water level threshold for each condition. Additionally, the Blynk web and mobile dashboard were able to display output as per the design. However, we suggest adding data logging features and also solar panels as a renewable power source to support the improved prototype system.

Monitoring and control in the biogas production process play important role to optimize the processes occurred inside the digester and help to achieve a stable and safe process. Anaerobic digestion is a complex process involving several groups of microorganisms that are sensitive to many operating factors. Therefore, it is important to monitor and detect the process imbalances at an early stage, thus action can be taken in time to prevent the failure. The purpose of this study is to design an appropriate biodigester to produce biogas from culinary food waste and a smart-based design device which can help in monitoring and controlling the process to enhance the biogas yields and control the process of purifying biogas into biomethane. The research method in this study consists of several stages including designing the reactors and instrumentation, fabrication and installation, testing and calibration of the sensors. Performance of biodigester plants was evaluated based on data gained from the sensors. The efficiency of digesters equipped with control and monitoring instruments is better than ordinary manual digesters. Smart-based digesters can increase the rate of gas production more measurably and be recorded systematically and in real time. It can be concluded that a smart biogester equipped with a microcontroller and monitoring with Web Application can save the time and improve biogas production and safety. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. This research explores the use of a modified infrared (IR) camera equipped with a high-pass filter to distinguish between natural objects (vegetation) and artificial objects (synthetic military uniforms) in an environment where vegetation makes objects difficult to detect. In military operations, especially guerrilla warfare in tropical forests, detecting enemies camouflaged in vegetation makes it difficult to distinguish targeted objects. Visible light cameras usually struggle to distinguish between synthetic and natural colors. This methodology involves the use of Python programming and various libraries, such as Computer Vision (CV), to process images captured by modified cameras. A graphical user interface (GUI) was developed to analyze color values, focusing on the red, green, and blue spectra. The results show that the modified IR camera can more effectively separate synthetic and natural object color peaks compared to a standard visible light camera, offering potential applications in military reconnaissance and sniper operations. This research demonstrates how image processing can improve object detection in complex environments. © 2024 IEEE.
