The battery thermal management system (BTMS) is essential for maintaining the battery's temperature and hence its performance. BTMS is classified into three types: active cooling, passive cooling, and hybrid approaches. Because of its simple design, lack of additional power, and even temperature distribution, PCM is extensively used as a BTMS as a passive cooling technique. PCM also has drawbacks like leak sensitivity and limited heat conductivity. This stimulates PCM performance enhancement attempts. Adding reinforcing material to PCM is a standard way to increase its performance. Aluminum nitride (AlN) and expanded graphite (EG) are commonly employed as fillers. The addition of EG and nano-AlN materials can improve the performance of PCM composites compared to pure PCM. Chemical interactions between these materials do not take place either. It is undeniably advantageous that these two materials may be combined into pure paraffin-based PCM for energy storage applications. The combined or hybrid system of BTMS is the optimum alternative for increasing heat transmission from the battery modules into the surrounding environment. The battery temperature will at good maintained well with the combination of 2 (two) and 3 (three) passive cooling methods or even combined with active cooling methods such as air-forced convection. In BTMS, the heat pipe is widely employed as a heat transfer improvement. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

A crucial aspect of autonomous vehicles is path planning, which involves using various algorithms to determine the most efficient routes. This study investigates the application of the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm to create a system for identifying the shortest path. The process includes collecting coordinate data from specific test locations on the Universitas Sriwijaya Indralaya campus to generate a graph-based map for analysis. The study begins with gathering route data through the Google Maps application, which includes 182 routes. In simulation tests, the routes generated by ACO differ from those suggested by Google Maps; sometimes, the ACO route is longer and sometimes shorter, due to the probabilistic nature of the ACO algorithm in finding optimal routes. The average error compared to Google Maps is 11.7 meters. Additional tests introduce obstacles on the road, requiring the system to find alternative routes. For instance, the initial route from the auditorium to the faculty of Science and Math is 38-39-11-53-110-54-111 with a route length of 670 m. After adding a roadblock in front of the faculty of engineering, the route changes to 38-39-116-40-70-69-56-111, with a route length of 730 meters. These tests demonstrate that the ACO algorithm effectively identifies the best routes for autonomous vehicles, both under normal conditions and when obstacles are present.

The development of telematics technology is increasing rapidly and this capability is supported by multimedia devices or even telematics that supports the development of multimedia itself. For instance, in the configuration of telematics with websites to control air traffic with a voice communication system, multimedia applications serve as devices for monitoring the use of this technology. Consider the research trends, this study aims to evaluate the current development and trends of research on telematics and its multimedia applications through bibliometric analysis over the last two decades and a half (1999-2023). Several publication characteristics were analyzed, including the most cited articles in this field. This study uses data from the Scopus database to evaluate the productivity, impact, countries, research institutions, authors, and research performance of journals based on the impact factor, citation counts, and h-index. According to the result, the annual number of publications on this topic fluctuates but tends to increase, with Germany being the most prolific country producing articles in this field. Additionally, the most researched telematics and its multimedia applications and most cited lists offer insight into the future. This is the first study to use bibliometric analysis to evaluate research on telematics and its multimedia applications and is expected to be useful for telematics researchers by identifying potential research directions. In addition, this research serves as a valuable resource for future researchers and practitioners. However, improvements can be made by incorporating additional analysis, such as content analysis. © 2023 IEEE.

Pico scale Turgo turbine (PSTT) is proper as a power plant to be applied for remote areas because of its simple construction, cheap investment cost, and good performance above 35%. However, the design of PSTT is still based on estimation because the wheel diameter and nozzle diameter (D/d) ratio are not yet in reasonable agreement. Furthermore, the literature on D/d affects PSTT performance has not been comprehensive. Accordingly, this study investigates the relation of D/d on PSTT performance and its effect on the U/Vjet. Based on experimental results, the relation of D/d and U/Vjet to PSTT performance is parabolic (expressed by polynomial quadratic);the maximum configuration of D/d of 22, and U/Vjet between 0.42 to 0.47. © 2022, Turbomachinery Society of Japan. Accurate anomaly classification in solar modules is crucial for efficient solar power system monitoring and maintenance. This study explores deep learning, specifically Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), for automated defect classification in thermal images. We employed transfer learning with pre-trained AlexNet and GoogleNet architectures, comparing static feature extraction and fine-tuning. Using a dataset of thermal images categorized as no anomaly, cracked, or soiled modules, the fully fine-tuned GoogleNet model achieved the highest classification accuracy 95.5%, outperforming AlexNet and traditional feature-based methods. GoogleNet's superior performance stems from its Inception modules, which learn more discriminative features by employing multiple convolutional filter sizes within the same layer, capturing complex thermal image patterns. Fine-tuning further boosts performance by adapting pre-trained knowledge to the specific task. These results demonstrate deep learning's potential for enhancing solar system maintenance reliability and efficiency.

Electronic devices have become an integral component in our daily activities. In fact, the consumption of electrical energy in households reached 49% in 2018, and is expected to increase to 58% in 2050. Concurrently, the LPG is the second highest consumed energy in the household and is expected to increase to 37% in 2050. However, the devices utilizing these energies could lead to a danger such as housefire if not operated and treated carefully. An Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart home monitoring system would solve this problem, especially by effectively monitoring several parameters in the house simultaneously. In this study, a system is built to monitor and control three rooms in the house independently and simultaneously. The sensors and/or actuators in all rooms are controlled by NodeMCU ESP8266s. All microcontrollers are linked via the Internet to a local server, where all data is analyzed, saved, and transmitted to the user using the MQTT protocol. The monitoring is done by the user via MQTT dashboard in the smartphone. Following testing, the three microcontrollers are fully capable of exchanging data with the user's smartphone. The humidity changed by 1%, while the temperature changed by 0.1 °C. Perfect data interchange is possible between the relays, flame, gas, and movement activity sensor.

Total dissolved solids (TDS) consisting of inorganic salts and organic matter are pollutants to the aquatic and water systems for human use. This paper studied the effect of ceramic adsorbent composition on improving the quality of the produced water (PW) by decreasing TDS before entering reverse osmosis (RO). Manufacturing ceramic adsorbents use a mixture of spent catalysts of residues catalytic cracking (RCC) and natural clay in various compositions. Experiments were performed using the PW from one oil and gas company in South Sumatra, Indonesia. The initial characterization of produced water contains total dissolved solids of 14,556 mg/L. The flow rate of PW into the ceramic adsorbent column were varied from 6 to 8 L/min at a contact time of 15 to 120 min. The results showed that ceramic adsorbent A (diameter 10 mm and thickness 10 mm, 70% clay, and 30% RCC) reduced TDS by 74.58%. Adsorbent B (diameter of 20 mm and thickness of 10 mm, 70% RCC and 30% clay) lowers TDS by 56.68% at a flow rate of 6 L/min and a contact time of 60 min. Adsorbent C (diameter of 10 mm and thickness of 10 mm, 30% clay, and 70% RCC) reduced TDS by 59.40% at a flow rate of 6 L/min and a flow time of 60 min. Adsorbent D (diameter of 20 mm, thickness of 10 mm, 30% clay, and 70% RCC) lowers TDS by 54.38% at a flow rate of 6 L/ min and a contact time of 60 min. After being transferred into the adsorption column, their filtrates were sent into the Reverse Osmosis (RO) membrane. The final permeates of RO have TDS values between 1,720 mg/L to 3,930 mg/L that met water standards for oil and gas exploration wastewater in Indonesia. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Femtocell is a promising technology to increase network capacity and coverage, especially in indoor areas. It has low power, short range. The Home Base Station/HeNB (Femtocell Base Station) can be installed by users using connection of personal equipment such as laptops, notepads and cell phones, and it is activated by service provider. By deploying femtocells into existing macrocell/microcell areas, the radio resources are shared among femtocells and existing macrocells. However, the sharing of limited available bandwidth frequency licenses cause interference problems between femtocells and/or macrocells. The interference problem becomes more complex when the number of deployed femtocells is many and dense creating a phenomenon of Ultra Dense Network (UDN). To cope with this interference problem, this paper proposes a power allocation method for femtocells deployed in macrocells areas (UDN) at downlink transmissions. In this method the power transmitted at HeNB to each femtocell user is adjusted in such a way as to reduce or increase the transmitted power at HeNB. If the estimated SINR value at current time is less than 20 dB, the power on the HeNB is increased by such a way so SINR is expectedly to be 20 dB for next transmission time. However, if the obtained SINR at current transmission time is more than 20 dB, then the transmission power at the HeNB is reduced so that the SINR value becomes 20 dB for the next transmission time. Extensive simulation has been carried out and the performance parameters in terms of SINR, throughput, and BER have been measured and compared to the baseline system, i.e., the system without power allocation method. The simulation results show that the system that applies power allocation method which is used in the cell edge area is better than the baseline system both in the center and the edge of cells. © 2022 IEEE.

The issue of dust and smoke resulting from forest fires in northern Thailand. This is caused by people burning the forest to get forest products. Individuals can start forest fires by intentionally burning the forest to extract forest resources. Deforestation negatively affects the well-being of vulnerable patients and has repercussions on public health. The decrease in tourist numbers impacts the economy. Individuals setting fire to the forest to gather forest resources impact government and public sector connections. The education sector has implemented many strategies to educate and mitigate forest fires. There is a fire suppression system. Remove garbage, leaves, and branches that are flammable. However, forest fires remain a concern. Collaboration among three entities in the community can aid in preventing unauthorized forest fires through communal procedures. From multiple ministries, the local organization department, and the central government Collaborating to safeguard Forest fire suppression and afforestation This study is a component of the forest fire surveillance division. If the forest fire's location is not clearly indicated, participating in combined operations will lead to issues because of the overlap in operational responsibilities. Previously, thermal imaging satellites were utilized for coordinate determination. If the satellite completes two orbits each day and identifies a hot location, it initiates a forest fire. Firefighters cannot reach the area to put out forest fires;thus, they need to enter from a nearby, accessible location. Joining the forest fire prevention volunteer organization is challenging and will require approximately 24 to 25 hours. This study aims to conserve energy by utilizing an loT system that transmits peer-to-peer signals. Individuals are prepared to dismantle this system.
