The available of conventional fuels are fluctuating depend on distribution from the source production to consumer. The availability of biogas as renewable energy is increasing due to establishments of many organic wastes processing worldwide. The need of electricity to support daily life activity is a must, but the availability of electric source in remote area is limited especially for a farm that far away from commercial line distribution of electricity. This work is dedicated to solve this problem. The single cylinder 4 stroke spark ignition engine (83 cc) was designed to be able to be fuelled flexibly by using biogas or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), or gasoline if sometime the biogas not available during initiation of the process or during maintenance of anaerobic digester. The engine is still can be run to provide electricity by using conventional fuel such as LPG or gasoline. The full consumption as well as emission of this flexible fuel engine was investigated. It is found that the fuel consumption is 9.97 L/mint for Biogas, 0.004 L/mint for gasoline and 2.24 L/mint for LPG. Surprisingly by using biogas the emission of carbon monoxide (CO) was down to almost zero (0.02 ppm), comparing gasoline 0.32 ppm, and LPG 0.4 ppm. © 2021 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

Background: Propolis from Sulawesi's stingless bees (Tetragonula biroi) contains antioxidants, more flavonoids than propolis from Apis bees, and the antibacterial ability. Objective: to examine the antibacterial properties of Propolis Nanoemulsion Extract (PNE), which is extracted from the Celebes Stingless Bee (T. biroi), in relation to the periodontopathogen bacteria such as Fusobacterium nucleatum (Fn), Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg), Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (Aa), and Provotella intermedia (Pi). This investigation also examines PNE's phytochemistry, particle size analysis (PSA), and zeta potential. Methods: The maceration process with 96 % ethanol was used to create PNE from Celebes stingless bee (T. biroi), which was then subjected to zeta potential measurement and PSA. Phytochemical analysis was used to identify phytochemical constituents in the PNE (T. biroi). Diffusion zone, minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC), and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) were used to assess antibacterial efficacy against Aa, Pg, Pi, and Fn. Furthermore, the statistical analysis was used to extract the data. Results: Phenols, alkaloids, and flavonoids were identified;however, triterpenoids and saponins were not. Between 151.28 and 182.2 diameter nanometers (***) was the range of the PNE's diameter. At 1.56 % propolis (T. biroi) concentration, the MIC, MBC, and diffusion zone analysis performed better than at 0.76 %, with a significant difference (p:0.01;p < 0.05) to Aa, Pg, Pi, and Fn. Conclusions: The highest antibacterial activity against Aa, Pg, Pi, and Fn as periodontopathogen bacteria is demonstrated by alkaloids, flavonoids, and phenols in PNE from Celebes (T. biroi) at a concentration of 1.56 %. © 2025 The Authors

Domain data can be shifted in any direction so it will be shared in different distributions to its original domain. This could be a problem since the model was trained with different distributions. It is found that adversarial domain adaptation using domain adversarial neural networks (DANN) can help to solve this problem on some scale. DANN can minimize the discrepancy between source and target data so the model can work well in both domains. The experiment is done by utilizing MNIST dataset that shifted into some conditions. In a condition when the shifting of distribution is too far, DANN is struggling to maintain the knowledge extracted from source data which leads to underperformance in the source and target domain. In contrast, when the shifting is closer, DANN can easily fit the model so it can perform well in both domains. It proves DANN is one of the good approaches to performing domain adaptation in small discrepancies. © 2023 IEEE.

The existence of fine-grained image classification supporting smart retail provides effectiveness in recognizing products with high similarity. However, the generic classification method performs poorly in identifying products from a subordinate category. This paper aims to identify augmentation techniques to leverage the Vision Transformer (ViT) model to classify the fine-grained grocery product, which involves embedding patches and transformer encoders to extract the main features. First, we develop a fine-grained image dataset with ColorJitter, CutOut, and combining both augmentations. Secondly, we perform experiments and analysis of ViT size, embedded patch size and image size in the patch embedding process. Lastly, the ViT model are evaluated according to the image sizes 224, 384, and 512 in accuracy, loss, and confusion matrix. The highest accuracy was obtained at 0.9922. The ColorJitter and CutOut improved the confusion matrix in ViT-B/16 and ViT-L/16 with an image size of 384 and 512. The results show that both augmentations in the ViT model are able to distinguish fine-grained grocery products. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, Distributed Generation (DG) have been a high penetration rate in the distribution network. Planning the active power of electricity from DG can save energy from grid side and reduce power losses in the unbalanced distribution system by considering the capacity to generate electricity. This research was aimed to appropriately generate the active power of DG for managing the energy on grid side and enable distributed system operators (DSO) can forecast production capabilities, maintain the grid balancing, and ensuring the stability of the distribution system. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm was implemented in MATLAB for optimal active power for each DG using Peer-to-Peer (P2P) communication with DIgSILENT for power flow analysis by shared data via comma-separated values file. Additionally, specifying equality and inequality constraint were applied. The results indicated that the active power of DG who is injected to the grid effect to the total power loss, voltage deviation, and power flow direction. In conclusion, the DSO can use them as the considerate guideline for issuing commands to adjust the increase or decrease in the production capacity of DG within reliability and security of the distributed system.

This study aimed to determine whether or not the Instagram Vlog improved speaking skills. The study of the study is to determine how the Instagram vlog project aids students in improving their speaking skills and how students' perceptions of the project improve their speaking ability. This study had 49 students participating. The interview was demonstrated to determine the students' perceptions of Instagram Vlog usage in English class. While the pre-test and post-test were given to find out how Instagram Vlog affected the students’ performance. The interviews were used to find out how the students feel, and they believe that Instagram Vlog improves their ability to speak English. In contrast, the students' improvement following the Instagram Vlog implementation indicated that the Instagram Vlog's performance in the Bahasa Inggris I subject contributed to their improved speaking ability. The findings of this study should be considered by educational institutions that prepare students for future employment.

Since the initial launch of 5G networks in 2018, 5G technology has rapidly expanded to cover about 40% of the world's population, offering higher bandwidth, faster connectivity, and lower latency than 4G. However, due to its higher frequency operation, 5G necessitates more frequent handovers, making efficient handover performance crucial. This research focuses on enhancing handover efficiency by predicting user movement using Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) models for multi-step-ahead prediction. The model created will utilize 60 seconds of historical data to predict 10 seconds ahead, with a target to achieve an average prediction accuracy of less than 20 meters with a latency under 100 ms. The study employs TensorFlow for model training, leveraging the Grab-Posisi dataset, and utilizes Plotly and TensorBoard for result visualization. Six model variations were trained, with the 16-unit model trained for 3106 epochs performing best, achieving 16.99 meters accuracy and 31 ms latency. The findings suggest that LSTM is effective for predicting user movement in 5G networks, with potential accuracy improvements through extended training epochs.

The kidney is a human organ with numerous vital functions, mainly for blood filtration. Damage to the kidneys can be detected from albumin levels in urine, higher levels of albumin in urine indicate the kidney's filtration function is impaired. The latest breakthrough in the medical field is the use of localized sensor plasma resonance (LSPR) in the field of biosensors to detect albumin protein in urine. Using Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) simulation, the lateral size of hexagonal gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) is varied to increase the optimal LSPR. AuNPs are well-known as the most promising material for plasmonic applications. In several studies, the hexagonal geometry was reported to increase the surface area of nanoparticles as well as enhance the LSPR signal. Varying the geometry of the hexagonal AuNPs will affect their sensitivity and optical properties. In this study, the lateral size of the hexagonal AuNPs varied from 10 nm to 60 nm, with a controlled thickness of 30 nm. The absorption graph blue shifts with the peak decreasing until the graph has almost no peak as the lateral size decreases. The lateral size of 40 nm at a thickness of 30 nm was found to have the highest shifting response towards the change of refractive index, indicating good sensitivity for sensors. Simulation of hexagonal AuNPs-based LSPR detection of albumin concentrations of 0.35 –5.71 mM produces a sensitivity of 2.59 nm/mM, equivalent to 245.96 nm/RIU. The competitive performance and ease of detection procedures in real applications show the potential of the hexagonal AuNPs-based LSPR sensor to be further explored in developing alternative albumin detection techniques.

Microgrid systems are becoming more popular and the main component in a microgrid system is generation, which in a microgrid system usually consists of distributed generations (DGs). Because the renewable energy (RE) generators are an inverter-based generator, a microgrid dominated by RE generators is called inverter-based microgrid. Due to intermittency of RE generator, such as solar PV, the RE power generation variation may cause instability. The conventional method to analyze system stability due to the variation of loads and generation is modal analysis. In this experiment the proposed method for analyzing small signal stability is by using Kharitonov’s Theorem. The objective of this experiment is to analyze inverter-based stability using Kharitonov’s Theorem and compare it to the result using conventional analysis method which is modal analysis. Using Kharitonov’s Theorem, the system stability can be determined for several operation scenarios within certain time range. In this experiment, the inverter-based microgrid will be modeled using DIgSILENT PowerFactory and the system matrices will be exported into MATLAB software to be analyzed and converted to four transfer functions using Kharitonov’s Theorem. The four output transfer function will determined the system small signal stability of modeled microgrid in one day operation.

The increasing demands within and between the data centers used for data traffic has required. Efficient links are important to data center applications for supporting the unlimited demand. Transmission capacity of single-mode fiber (SMF) is limited by fiber nonlinearity which prevents the increasing transmission power and finite amplifier bandwidth. Single-mode multi-core fibers (SM-MCFs) that are expected to overcome the current limitation of optical communication capacity. However, the inter-core crosstalk still has an effect on SM-MCF, which can limit the transmission of the inter-data center. In this paper, the design of four-core uncoupled multicore fiber is discussed for next generation inter-data center networks in order to support the unlimited use of data traffic in the future. The objective of this paper is to determine the appropriate range of core radius and core pitch, which are taken into consideration to reduce the inter-core crosstalk inside the optical fiber. These parameters can be able to improve various constraints to achieve the best multi-core fibers design. From the simulation concerned with the inter-core crosstalk, the experiment results show that the range of core pitch is at 47.5 µm to 50 µm and the range of core radius starts from 4.5 µm to 5.5 µm, that can achieve with crosstalk lower than – 30 dB/100 km for the future inter-data center networks. © 2021 River Publishers
