This paper introduces the fully digital implementation of a 1-D multiscroll chaos generator based on a staircase nonlinearity in the 3rd-order jerk system using the Euler approximation. For the first time, digital design is exploited to provide real-time controllability of (i) number of scrolls, (ii) position in 1-D space, (iii) Euler step size and (iv) system parameter. The effect of variations in these fields on the maximum Lyapunov exponent (MLE) is analyzed. The system is implemented using Verilog HDL and synthesized on an Xilinx Virtex 4 FPGA, exhibiting area utilization less than 3.5% and high performance with experimentally verified throughput up to 3.33 Gbits/s. This fully digital system enables applications in modulation schemes and chaos-based cryptosystems without analog to digital conversion.

Variable speed wind turbine with full scale converter or so-called Type-D wind turbine generator worldwide installation has been significantly increased in the last few years. Voltage sag in the grid side may cause the wind turbine to be disconnected from the grid. In this paper, effect of STATCOM on the low voltage ride through capability of Type-D wind turbine during voltage sag in the grid side is studied. Simulation is carried out using MATLAB/Simulink software. Results show that STATCOM can significantly improve the voltage profile at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC) and improve the capability of Type-D wind turbine and prevents it from being disconnected from the grid during certain level of voltage sag in the grid side.

The amount of wind turbine connected to the power grid has significantly increased during the last decade. This has resulted in essential need to establish grid codes. Previously, wind turbine generators (WTGs) were allowed to be disconnected from the network during any disturbance at the grid side to avoid WTGs from being damaged. However, lately, the transmission system operators (TSOs) require WTGs to be stayed connected to provide support to the grid during fault. This new requirement has been regulated in the new grid codes. In this paper, the super conducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) unit is used to enhance the high voltage ride through (HVRT) capability of DFIG based WTG during voltage swell events at the grid side. Two new grid codes are used to verify the ability of the SMES unit to avoid the WTG from being disconnected from the grid.

The ability of variable speed wind turbines technology to optimally tracking the power from wind energy has become the main reason of their popularity compared with the fixed speed wind turbines. In the earlier stage of connecting wind turbines (WTs) to the existing electricity grids, WTs were allowed to be disconnected from the grid in case of grid faults which might lead to the damage of the turbines. However, recently, the transmission system operators (TSOs) require to maintaining the connection of WTs with the grid to support the grid during fault and to assure the continuity of power supply. This requirement has been compiled in new grid codes in several countries. In this paper, super conducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) unit is used with two different types of variable speed wind turbine generators to comply with Spain grid codes. Results show that the low-voltage-ride-through (LVRT) of Type-3 and Type-4 wind turbine generators are significantly improved when SMES unit is connected to the system.

Software development is a series of processes activity involving more than one person, especially in medium to large software projects. Each activity of software development is carried out by various combination of different individual. Collaboration occurs in every phase of the process software development. The right team collaboration method is one of the important things in success software development. This research is focused to develop collaboration model of software development to meet time schedule, budget, scope, and software quality. The collaboration model of software development is generated from survey of collaboration method (about face to face and virtual collaboration) and software development methodology especially agile methodology. The direct collaboration was used in the software specification processes, and combination (with a direct and virtual) collaboration was used during software design, implementation, and validation. Team coordination in every process of software development was done with face to face method. The same artifacts were used in this collaboration model with some collaboration software tools. Combination between face to face and virtual communication was used in this model. The model is implemented in small case software development project. During the software development, some measurement is carried out. The measurement included the measurement of project completion time, cost, software specification, and software quality. The software is developed in time schedule (two months), cost under budged, and meet specification. In addition, the software has built a fairly good quality. Thus, this collaboration model good use in software development to achieved accuracy of schedule, cost, scope, and quality.

Porous Silicon (PS) doped Erbium (Er) has been studied where Er on PSi is involved interaction of silicon and silicon dioxide. The Er doping process was carried out by immersion technique with electrolyte composed of Erbium (III) nitrate pentahydrate (Er_3NO_3OH_5) and Ethanol. The photoluminescence (PL) effect on PSi samples have been studied and shows a PL intensity is improves at certain mass percentage of Erbium (Er) and the PL peak shifts to the blue luminescence. The result shows that when the Erbium diffuses into a pore, an enhancement of the photoluminescence was obtained for all Erbium used concentration. The photoluminescence of porous silicon (PS) was increased at about 12%. It was also found that the photoluminescence became stable at certain point after the dopant solution continually to increase. All samples show a broad nanocrystal-related luminescence spectrum centered around 700 nm to 725 nm. So it concluded that the porous silicon doped with erbium is able to increase the photoluminescence intensity.

Social navigation provides drivers with an advice that aims to shift traffic flows in a network from a user equilibrium to a system optimum. The advice is based on minimizing a combination of the individual travel time and the marginal total travel time in the network. The level of altruism defines the extent to which a driver is willing to sacrifice his own travel time in favor of other drivers. Fuel consumption and CO2 emission are taking into account by converting them into time equivalent. Experimental results for a small network loosely representing the Bay area show that social navigation can reduce time delays by 10%. The reduction is positively correlated with network load, market penetration and level of altruism.
