This paper presents an analysis of the Unified Power Quality Conditioner-Photovoltaic (UPQC-PV) system under sag and interruption voltage with variable irradiance. The PV is connected to a three-phase three-wire (3P3W) distribution system with 380 volts (L-L) and a frequency of 50 hertz, through UPQC-DC link. This system is used to maintain and supply sensitive loads. This paper shows that in the sag voltage and irradiance levels of 200 W/m2 to 1200 W/m2, the 3P3W system uses UPQC-PV with proportional-integral (PI) still able to maintain the active load power above 3714 W. However, in the interruption voltage and same irradiance level, the load active power drops to between 2560 W and 2805 W. This research also shows that in the sag voltage and same irradiance levels, the 3P3W system uses UPQC-PV with PI still able to generate PV power between 500 W to 920 W. In the interruption voltage and same irradiance levels, the power that can be generated by PV increases between 1300 W to 1635 W. Otherwise, at 250 C and 1000 W/m2, the increase in PV power on interruption voltage has not been able to meet the load active power consumption, so it finally drops to 2650 W. This paper provides a comprehensive comparative analysis of the performance of four bioinspired algorithms (Differential Evolution, Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm, Moth-flame Optimization, and Particle Swarm Optimization) in designing a flatness-based controller for a ball and beam system simulated in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The assessment involves the tuning of feedback gains utilizing four distinct fitness functions: Integral Square Error, Integral Absolute Error, Integral Time Absolute Error, and an ad-hoc cost function. Hypothesis tests are employed to choose the optimal controllers from each combination for every bioinspired algorithm and a fitness function. Subsequently, a control performance analysis of these controllers for the ball and beam system is conducted, focusing on critical parameters such as overshoot, settling time, and steady-state error. This analysis demonstrates that all the controllers achieve a zero steady-state error. Noteworthy is the flatness-based controller tuned with the bioinspired Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm and utilizing the Integral Time Absolute Error fitness function, which stands out for achieving the fastest response with the lowest overshoot. This particular controller emerges as the most recommended choice for the specified application.

The utilization of hydroponic cultivation in agriculture is increasing due to its high productivity even in limited spaces. However, in practice, monitoring and controlling nutrients in hydroponic systems often require intensive human supervision and intervention. This issue can be addressed through technological advancements, particularly with the adoption of microcontrollers, sensors, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Previous research has developed IoT-based monitoring and control systems for DFT hydroponics using the Blynk platform. This study aims to develop an IoT-based nutrient monitoring and automation system for floating raft hydroponics. Floating raft hydroponics was chosen for its simplicity, lower installation costs, and space optimization. The system developed in this study uses the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor with an average error of 1.229%, the DS18B20 water temperature sensor with an error of 0.415%, and the TDS sensor with an error of 2.055%. The sensor and actuator measurement data are presented via the Antares Web. This research has the potential to minimize the necessity for manual intervention in hydroponic systems, thereby enhancing both efficiency and consistency in nutrient delivery. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has significantly impacted various industries, particularly the automotive sector, due to the growing integration of IoT technologies in vehicles. As a result, the volume of data generated by vehicular sensors has increased, leading to a surge in studies focusing on driver behavior to enhance road safety and optimize transportation networks. However, traditional approaches to analyzing driver behavior have relied on supervised offline learning models, which are unsuitable for handling data streams in online learning environments. This study introduces an unsupervised online k-fix AutoCloud algorithm for detecting driver behavior patterns, leveraging the concepts of typicity and eccentricity while considering the historical-temporal relationships between samples. Furthermore, the algorithm autonomously and adaptively evolves without requiring a supervised training phase, making it compatible with the TinyML concept, encompassing Artificial Intelligence algorithms designed for low-power IoT devices. To validate the proposed method, a real case study was conducted over four days using a vehicle to compare the quantity and quality of clusters generated by the algorithm. The findings demonstrate the potential of the proposed approach for optimizing data processing with minimal computational power.

This paper addresses the reference tracking control problem for Medical Cyber-Physical Systems (MCPS). The control theory is employed to guarantee the suitable concentration of drugs in the body of patients to guarantee a safe treatment. The MCPS is modeled as a switched system, and the modes consider the different scenarios for the problem. A discrete-time model is utilized for the pharmacokinetic process, and the zero input control strategy is employed to design state-feedback controllers with a guaranteed exponential convergence rate. A numerical experiment is presented to illustrate the validity and effectiveness of our method. © 2024 IEEE.

Thanks to the Internet of Things (IoT) revolution and advancements in embedded systems, the incorporation of an extensive array of sensors and computational resources into vehicles has become a reality, significantly enhancing their capabilities to produce relevant data. This has opened up new opportunities for acquiring and processing vehicular data in various areas, supporting new applications such as vehicular monitoring to the use of information for artificial intelligence for improved decision-making tasks. However, although the benefits are promising, there is a current challenge when providing flexible and standardized procedures to capture, process, and store this information for further analysis. In this context, this article proposes an framework to support the the handling of vehicular data, including data processing by a server and storage in a cloud database. This framework was validated through a real-world case study, analyzing the collected sensor data. The results indicated the feasibility of the proposal, contributing to the availability of vehicular data analysis in a way that is distinct from proposals in the literature. Additionally, this framework offers another significant contribution, related to the use of an appropriate database for time series, enabling scalability and high availability.

Wind power, solar power and water power are technologies that can be used as the main sources of renewable energy so that the target of decarbonisation in the energy sector can be achieved. However, when compared with conventional power plants, they have a significant difference. The share of renewable energy has made a difference and posed various challenges, especially in the power generation system. The reliability of the power system can achieve the decarbonization target but this objective often collides with several challenges and failures, such that they make achievement of the target very vulnerable, Even so, the challenges and technological solutions are still very rarely discussed in the literature. This study carried out specific investigations on various technological solutions and challenges, especially in the power system domain. The results of the review of the solution matrix and the interrelated technological challenges are the most important parts to be developed in the future. Developing a matrix with various renewable technology solutions can help solve RE challenges. The potential of the developed technological solutions is expected to be able to help and prioritize them especially cost-effective energy. In addition, technology solutions that are identified in groups can help reduce certain challenges. The categories developed in this study are used to assist in determining the specific needs and increasing transparency of the renewable energy integration process in the future.

This paper presents the development of an object detection system based on the deep learning approach of computer vision to support the laparoscopic surgical robotic position control system. The system comprises two main phases, the training phase, and the real-time operating phase. In the training phase, a modified YOLOv4 algorithm is proposed to be adopted within the Darknet framework for training the weights of detection models. The best detection model is then selected to be assigned to the object detector in the real-time operating phase. The validation result of the detection model across the experiment datasets is 90% accuracy on average during the training phase. To validate the viability of real-time object detection, the proposed system was implemented in two test-cases of gynecologic surgery with the soft-body cadavers. © 2022 IEEE.

Planck's constant experiment has been carried out to determine the value of Planck's constant using the regression analysis method. The steps are carried out using the scientific process outlined in the practical work steps. The specification of the experimental equipment uses the Planck constant experimental set with 12v/35w tungsten halogen light, 15v output, +-0.2% accuracy, 220V power requirement, 0.5A fuse rating and red, yellow 1, yellow 2, and red color filters, green and blue. Experiments using the concept of the photoelectric effect phenomenon began by irradiating metallic materials with light using a filter. The wavelength (635, 570, 540, 500, 460) nm is the light filter variation. The wavelength that hits the metal material is selected by placing a light filter on the light propagation path toward the metal material. So the light that passes through the filter is only light with a certain wavelength. After the metal material is irradiated by light with a certain wavelength, then the stopping potential voltage measurement is carried out on the metal material irradiated by light. From the variation of the light filter used, it is possible to calculate Planck's constant using the regression method with the value obtained 6.26x1034. This value is very close to the actual Planck's constant value which is 6.62x1034 so an error value is obtained 4.23%. With 95.77% accuracy, Planck's constant value obtained from the calculation using the linear regression method can be said to be very close to the actual Planck's constant value. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Along with technological improvements, online shopping is currently developing quickly. Online shops started by selling electronics, clothing, food, and home appliances and continue to evolve, selling various things. Currently, digital marketing has a novel technique, namely live shopping, where sellers can present, promote and offer their products directly through live streaming on social media and e-commerce platforms. This research will focus on gaining insight into the factors influencing customers to watch and purchase through live streaming. This research is an early-stage study of exploring and searching for research models. The study used a literature review approach by reviewing similar previous research articles. Several variable components were used in this study. The findings of the factors include visibility capacity, meta-vocation capacity, purchase orientation capacity, social presence, price, perceived product quality, perceived enjoyment, purchase orientation, perceived usefulness, and intention to buy. These factors were tested and proved to be valid with Cronbach's Alpha value being more than 0.5 and reliable with the value of the loading factor a greater than 0.6. Criteria The factors of the findings for further analysis of the relationship between factors and other variables. © 2023 IEEE.
