Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a type of diabetes mellitus that attacks the retina of the eye. DR will cause patients to experience blindness slowly. Generally, DR can be detected by using a special instrument called an ophthalmoscope to view the inside of the eyeball. However, in conditions where there is a very small difference between the normal image and the DR image, computer-based assistance is needed for maximizing image reading value. In this research, a method of image quality improvement will be carried out which will then be integrated with a classification algorithm based on deep learning. The results of image improvement using Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) shows that the average accuracy of the method on several models is very competitive, 91% for the VGG16 model, 95% for InceptionV3, and 97% for EfficientNet compared to the results original image which only has an accuracy of 87% for VGG16 model, 90% for InceptionV3 model, and 95% for EfficientNet. However, in ResNet34 better accuracy is obtained in the original image with an accuracy of 95% while in the CLAHE image the accuracy value is only 84%. The results of this comprehensive evaluation and recommendation of famous backbone networks can be useful in the computer-Aided diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.. This study investigated how the addition of hydrophilic TiO 2 to a porous asymmetric polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) Ultrafiltration (UF) membrane altered its properties and performance. The hydrophilicity and flux of PVDF and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) combinations will be lower, and TiO 2 will significantly impact raising those values. By mixing titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) nanoparticles with a pore-forming agent in a dope solution, PVDF-TiO 2 -PVP membranes were prepared via non-solvent-induced phase inversion method. Experiments using PVDF membranes with varying concentrations of TiO 2 (0, 0.25, 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2% wt) were applied to evaluate pure water flux and Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) flux. The functional group composition of membranes was investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The wettability of porous membranes was determined by measuring contact angles. Results demonstrated that membranes constructed from PVDF/PVP/TiO 2 with a lower loading of TiO 2 nanoparticles had a smaller mean pore size, more apertures inside the membrane, and better membrane hydrophilicity. The highest flux of pure water (121 L/m 2 h) was achieved by the PVDF-TiO 2 -PVP mixed-matrix membrane at a TiO 2 concentration of 2 wt%.

One of the critical issues of using chlorophyll (Mg-Chl) as a dye photosensitizer in DSSC is related to a rapid decay of this material. Changing the alkali metal using transition metal ions could theoretically increase the stability of chlorophyll. In this research, the substitution of Mg2+ with Mnn+ ions (n = 2 and 4) in chlorophyll structure isolated from Gliricidia sepium leaves had been carried out. The column chromatography technique was chosen to separate the chlorophyll followed by modifying the metal centre using two different compounds containing manganese, namely MnCl2 and MnO2. The results show that there are differences in Rf values after substitutions, [0.90 (Mg-Chl), 0.81 (Mn2+-Chl), and 0.96 (Mn4+-Chl)]. The Soret bands experience a redshift from 330 to 338 nm for Mn2+-Chl and a blue shift from 411 to 401 nm for Mn4+-Chl while the Q band has a redshift from 665 to 668 nm for Mn2+-Chl but a blue shift from 665 to 526 nm for Mn4+-Chl. The obtained products have similar IR absorption patterns to Mg-Chl but differ only in its transmittance with slightly higher wavenumbers shifts. Shifting of UV-Visible and Infra-red characteristics indicate different molecular electronic nature of the obtained compounds. This implies successful substitution for the metal centre without damaging the structure of the chlorophyll. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

This research was carried out to produce fuel (Oil Liquid Poduct/OLP) from catalytic cracking of a mixture of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) and fiber waste from palm oil. USY zeolite was previously ion-exchanged by three levels of Ni-metal concentration (1%, 2%, 3%) before used as catalyst in the cacking process. The catalytic cracking was carried out at rasio of sample to catalyst was 6:1, three levels of temperature (400°C, 425°C and 450°C) and three levels of reaction time (10, 20 and 30 minutes).The SEM images and EDX spectra of Ni-USY zeolite catalysts showed that all catalysts were in crystalline form of FAU framework. The highest of OLP percentage, 24.5%, was produced by catalytic cracking at 450°C for 10 minutes using Ni-USY prepared by ion-exchange using 2% concentration of Nickel Nitrate solution. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

CO₂ hydrogenation as sustainable route for generation of value-added carbon feedstock is identified as green pathway for mitigation of greenhouse gasses emission. CO₂ methanation is one of the promising solutions, which only requires reactions at atmospheric pressure while utilizing metal catalysts to overcome kinetic limitations. Metal catalysts can be promoted to alter reducibities, CO₂ adsorption capacities, and H_2[sbnd]CO₂ dissociation potential. The role of metal promoter such as rare earth elements (Ce, Mn, Co, and La) and alkali and alkali earth metal (Li, Na, Ca, and K) will be discussed within the scope of CO₂ methanation. The aspect of catalysts modification towards hydrogen dissociation potential and surface oxygen vacancy will be emphasized to enhance selectivity for methane. Another pathway for CO₂ hydrogenation is via further conversion into longer chain molecules such as olefin and ethanol. The benefit of metal promoter will be discussed in this review on the effect towards promoting C[sbnd]C coupling reaction for producing longer chain alcohol and light olefin. The strategies to develop active catalysts for the coupling reaction of C[sbnd]C will be emphasized with the promoter introduction. For the hydrogenation of CO₂ to longer chain molecules, the main metal catalysts Ni, Pd, Rh, and Co, and their modification with promoter such as Ga, Cu, and alkali metal Na, K will be discussed. A critical analysis of the CO₂ methanation mechanism and further C[sbnd]C reaction to longer chain molecules will be discussed, particularly the effect of metal promoters to stabilize the intermediate and maneuver the catalytic reaction pathway into the desired products. © 2023 The Author(s)

The rapid population growth and industrial development in developing countries harm the agricultural sector because many agricultural lands are converted into residential or industrial areas. Applying modern agriculture technologies such as hydroponic could help to overcome the problem. However, hydroponics requires special attention in adjusting the pH and nutrient levels to maximize plant growth, so an automated system is needed to manage the process. In this research, a smart hydroponic system is proposed by applying Adaptive Networkbased Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and Internet-of-Things. The IoT system consists of sensor, actuator, and data processing layer is designed to monitor and control the condition of pH and nutrition of the observed plants. Then, the ANFIS algorithm is designed to control the level of pH and nutrition. The experiment results show that the system can automatically adjust the pH and nutrient levels to the expected range for growing plants, and the fuzzy controller made using ANFIS are more accurate and stable than the fuzzy controller made using Sugeno. This study shows that ANFIS has excellent performance when controlling multiple actuators, as long as the data set has great granularity and well defined.

Based on the RISKESDAS in 2018 the prevalence of burns reached 1,3% of the total population of Indonesia and basen on WHO there were 195,000 cases of deaths due to burns every year. One clinical treatment for burns is to use hydrogels as wound dressing. Hydrogel wound dressing functions to absorb wound exudates, by keeping the wound moist. This study was conducted to determine the effect of adding oat extrac to the hydrogel methylcellulose-AgNPs. Hydrogel methylcellulose-AgNPs are mixed with oat extract, with an oat extract concentration of 0 wt%, 0.5 wt%, 1 wt%, 1.5 wt%, and 2 wt%. The characterization carried out included XRD crystallinity test and SEM morphology test for the characterization of AgNPs, and it was found that 10.2% of AgNPs were formed and evenly distributed AgNPs. In addition, characterization of hydrogel wound dressing was carried out which included antibacterial test, cytotoxicity test, swelling test, and antioxidant test. From the results of the analysis it was found that the best variable methylcellulose-AgNPs-oat hydrogel was a sample with an oat concentration of 2 wt%, which had a clear zone diameter of 10.35 mm and was sensitive to bacteria, had a% viability of 2.206%, a swelling value of 71, 7%, and has an antioxidant value of 95%. It shows that the addition of oats can increase the cell viability because oats are antioxidants, so they can counteract the free radicals produced by AgNPs, but the addition of oats increases sensitivity to bacteria because oats also function as antibacterial. Samples with oats of 2 wt% have the best characterization even though they have not met the standard wound dressing.

The decline in physical, cognitive, and sensory functions for most elderly people leads to the development of several health issues such as memory loss, a tendency to fall, dizziness, and reduced ability to care for oneself independently. These can be mitigated using devices designed to monitor vital signs and human activity such as a smart band. However, the application of a smart band is characterized by a disadvantage which involves storing user data in the vendor's cloud and only one device can access the client applications. Therefore, nurses, doctors, and family members cannot simultaneously analyze data and receive alerts when abnormal conditions occur in elderly patients. This study aims to develop a system capable of monitoring the health conditions of multiple elderly individuals and sending alerts during abnormal conditions based on the heart rate value read by the smart band sensor. The process involved installing a database on the Raspberry Pi to store data while a monitoring system was built on the Node-RED platform to display elderly health data and made it accessible locally. The detection of an abnormal heart rate condition in the elderly patient leads the system to send notifications via telegram to multiple receivers registered in the system using their telegram identity.

Red seaweed species Eucheuma cottonii was thought to have potential as an anesthetic agent because it is shown to contain compounds with bioactivity as antimicrobial,antifungal,and also *** have been no studies regarding the active ingredients of *** objective of the study was to examine the potential of *** extract as a candidate for fish anesthetic based on toxicity,phytochemistry,and active compounds contained in the *** stages of research include extraction,toxicity test extracts(BSLT),phytochemical test,quantitative test compound phytochemical results,and the identification of active compounds with *** results showed that *** extract contains a total of phenols of 4.60±0.06 mg/GAE g which is one presentation of the active ingredient in the *** extract had bioactivity with LC_(50) of 221.71±5.74μg/*** extract contained flavonoids compounds and saponins with a consecutive number of 24.48%and 0.22%.The results of identifying active compounds were found in several compounds that had activity asantidepressants or *** extract can be used as a candidate for a fish anesthetic agent.

This study proposes a new approach, a communal-based domestic rainwater harvesting (CDRWH) system, which is a new model that combines domestic and communal rainwater harvesting systems. This model is an alternative solution to improve system performance and utilize rainwater overflow from the system. Rainwater runoff from several domestic tanks is channeled to a communal tank to be collected, processed, and redistributed to needy domestic tanks. Overflow from the communal tank is used for groundwater recharge. The CDRWH system model aims to increase water supply, reduce runoff, and conserve groundwater. The model simulation uses daily water balance analysis and yield before spillage algorithm. The simulation scenario uses variations in roof area, number of house occupants, storage tank volume, and rainfall categories: 20 years, wet year, normal year, and dry year. Jagakarsa, an urban area in South Jakarta, was selected for the CDRWH system modeling. The results showed that the CDRWH model significantly improved the performance of the volumetric reliability (VR) and time reliability (TR) systems. In addition, the model could show a comparison of total groundwater recharge (GWR) and groundwater extraction (GWE), where the GWR capacity was higher. This allows centralized rainwater management in communal tanks, thereby reducing groundwater usage. The design of this model is simple. Therefore it can be easily duplicated for application in other locations. © 2025 The Authors
