This paper presents the design and implementation of a WiFi indoor localization system using genetic algorithm. The coverage capability of the wireless access point is an important parameter in the design to estimate the distance from the transmitted and received signals. The main purpose of this work is to find the effective number of wireless access points in the design area by using genetic algorithm. The Received Signal Strength (RSSI) is measured for the signal quality. The test area consists of the multiple classrooms on the same floor inside the building and the conditions are unobstructed and used the line-of-sight for transmitted and received signals. The experimental results by measuring the received signal through a laptop are indicated that RSSI = -35 dBm at a distance of 5 meters is a prominent indicator of signal quality that can be used to search a variety of information from internet inside the classroom. © 2022 IEEE.

The rapid and continuous technological advancements in computer and internet technologies, combined with data management techniques, find applications in various domains. For example, they aid in predictive maintenance systems, evaluate the performance of solar modules, and differentiate efficiently performing solar modules from less efficient ones using thermal imagery. The accuracy of solar module classification significantly impacts the subsequent assessment. In this study, we employ advanced techniques, particularly deep learning through Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), to classify thermal images of solar modules. The practical aspects of applying CNN to the dataset of thermal images are explored, including transfer learning from pretrained CNN architectures and custom CNN architecture training. Experiments are conducted with three prominent types of solar module conditions: normal, cracked, and dusty. The results reveal that the most effective approach involves learning and fine-tuning pre-trained architectures on detailed studies, achieving a classification accuracy of up to 94.5 % .

The issue of dust and smoke resulting from forest fires in northern Thailand. This is caused by people burning the forest to get forest products. Individuals can start forest fires by intentionally burning the forest to extract forest resources. Deforestation negatively affects the well-being of vulnerable patients and has repercussions on public health. The decrease in tourist numbers impacts the economy. Individuals setting fire to the forest to gather forest resources impact government and public sector connections. The education sector has implemented many strategies to educate and mitigate forest fires. There is a fire suppression system. Remove garbage, leaves, and branches that are flammable. However, forest fires remain a concern. Collaboration among three entities in the community can aid in preventing unauthorized forest fires through communal procedures. From multiple ministries, the local organization department, and the central government Collaborating to safeguard Forest fire suppression and afforestation This study is a component of the forest fire surveillance division. If the forest fire's location is not clearly indicated, participating in combined operations will lead to issues because of the overlap in operational responsibilities. Previously, thermal imaging satellites were utilized for coordinate determination. If the satellite completes two orbits each day and identifies a hot location, it initiates a forest fire. Firefighters cannot reach the area to put out forest fires;thus, they need to enter from a nearby, accessible location. Joining the forest fire prevention volunteer organization is challenging and will require approximately 24 to 25 hours. This study aims to conserve energy by utilizing an loT system that transmits peer-to-peer signals. Individuals are prepared to dismantle this system. The diagnosis of faults in grid-connected photovoltaic (GCPV) systems is a challenging task due to their complex nature and the high similarity between faults. To address this issue, we propose a wrapper approach called the salp swarm algorithm (SSA) for feature selection. The main objective of SSA is to extract only the most important features from the raw data and eliminate unnecessary ones to improve the classification accuracy of supervised machine learning (SML) classifiers. Subsequently, the selected features are used to train supervised machine learning (SML) techniques in distinguishing between various operating modes. To evaluate the efficiency of the technique, we used healthy and faulty data from GCPV systems that have been injected with frequent faults, 20 different types of faults were introduced, including line-to-line, line-to-ground, connectivity faults, and those affecting the operation of bay-pass diodes. These faults present diverse conditions, such as simple and multiple faults in the PV arrays and mixed faults in both arrays. The performances of the developed SSA-SML are compared with those using principal component analysis (PCA) and kernel PCA (KPCA) based SML techniques through different criteria (i.e., accuracy, recall, precision, F1 score, and computation time). The experimental findings demonstrated that the proposed diagnosis paradigm outperformed the other techniques and achieved a high diagnostic accuracy (an average accuracy greater than 99%) while significantly reducing computation time. © 2023, The Author(s).

This paper extends previous work on simulation models of switched reluctance generators (SRG) by demonstrating that selecting appropriate proportional-integral (PI) gain settings enables rapid adaptation to wind speed variations, thereby ensuring system stability. The study shows that employing continuously varying gains provides a detailed understanding of the system's dynamic performance, offering insights into the effects of different gain profiles on stability. The transient responses induced by changes in PI gain are effectively mitigated through the introduction of a compensatory signal derived from the system's maximum transient response. Alternatively, it has been demonstrated that a gain with a smooth transition profile, such as one based on a Bessel curve, achieves a comparable stabilizing effect by eliminating transient phenomena and improving response smoothness. These measures collectively enhance the system's stability and robustness, making the control framework more adaptable to dynamic conditions and offering practical insights for the design of wind power generation systems. The findings highlight the potential of these methods to optimize energy conversion and improve the operational reliability of SRG-based systems under varying wind speeds.

This research explores the use of a modified infrared (IR) camera equipped with a high-pass filter to distinguish between natural objects (vegetation) and artificial objects (synthetic military uniforms) in an environment where vegetation makes objects difficult to detect. In military operations, especially guerrilla warfare in tropical forests, detecting enemies camouflaged in vegetation makes it difficult to distinguish targeted objects. Visible light cameras usually struggle to distinguish between synthetic and natural colors. This methodology involves the use of Python programming and various libraries, such as Computer Vision (CV), to process images captured by modified cameras. A graphical user interface (GUI) was developed to analyze color values, focusing on the red, green, and blue spectra. The results show that the modified IR camera can more effectively separate synthetic and natural object color peaks compared to a standard visible light camera, offering potential applications in military reconnaissance and sniper operations. This research demonstrates how image processing can improve object detection in complex environments. © 2024 IEEE.

The data-driven autonomous feedforward (FF) control design technique known as frequency-domain modelling-free iterative learning control (MFILC) has gained attention for its ability to achieve fine motion control performance without excessive labor. However, the existing frequency-domain MFILC methods that rely on empirical transfer function estimation are not suitable for point-to-point (PTP) motion due to the leakage error that occurs in frequency response function (FRF) estimation. To address this issue, this study proposes an improved frequency-domain MFILC method that employs the differential filtering-based empirical transfer function estimation for FRF estimation. This enhancement enables the proposed method to learn the FF compensation in both reciprocating and PTP motion. Simulations were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method in achieving fast and precise motion control of a galvano scanner.

This study proposes a direct teaching method for the task of pressing an end effector attached to a robot manipulator against a workpiece with a constant force. When performing contact tasks, such as deburring or polishing using a manipulator, a passive compliance is required for the end effector to suppress excessive contact force and impact. Therefore, we developed an end effector that combines a 'parallel wire-type teaching device,' which enables direct teaching, and a compliance device. In the case of pressing a workpiece with a constant force, after teaching the robot's trajectory to trace the edge of the workpiece, the amount of pressing can be calculated from the stiffness of the end effector and the desired pressing force;the robot's trajectory can be edited to teach contact tasks. An experiment was conducted to press a straight trajectory with a constant force as the target value and evaluate the accuracy of force teaching. © 2023 ICROS.
