Glaucoma is the main cause of global vision loss, emphasizing the need for accurate and early detection methods. This study applies EfficientNetB7, a state-of-the-art convolutional neural network (CNN), to classify retinal fundus images from the PAPILA dataset, a challenging real-world dataset with limited size and diverse image quality. The study shows how data balance and region-of-interest (ROI) cropping are two preprocessing methods that can help improve classification performance. The suggested model did better than previous studies, with an AUC of 0.84 and an F1-Score of 0.77 after 10-fold cross-validation. Statistical research shows that combining preprocessing methods can make models more reliable. These findings demonstrate EfficientNetB7’s potential to address challenges in small, imbalanced datasets, paving the way for scalable applications in glaucoma diagnosis and medical imaging tasks.

This study aims to verify the operation of a system that combines a generator, an inverter to control it, and a power conditioner, as well as to observe the system efficiency at the theoretical MTPA (Maximum Torque Per Ampere) point. This paper proposed a novel landing platform with wireless power transfer (WPT) to charge multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) without restrictions on landing locations or alignment. A transmitter is designed using wires to charge a wide area. To overcome the disadvantages of system made by wires, a grid pattern transmitter and double power line are proposed. These structures provide multiple charging with free positioning of receivers and excite the transmitter lines in wide area properly. The optimized system is composed of 0.15m square cells, providing a 0.9 m by 0.9 m charging area. By experiment, it can efficiently charge four 0.1 m square receivers located anywhere in transmitter. The overall efficiency of four receivers is 37.5%. Also, the experimental results verify that it is unnecessary to align the receiver within the cell, as it has a 2.62% error due to rotation and a 2.94 % error due to position within the cell.

A Federated Dictionary Learning Method for Process Monitoring With Industrial Applications

Edge computing is an indispensable technology in the Industry 4.0 era. The data are stored at the edge and transmission is prohibited due to concerns about data privacy. Thus, the traditional centralized data-driven modeling methods will face many difficulties and can hardly be used in practice. Federated learning aims to let local nodes learn a global model cooperatively while keeping their data localized. Motivated by the pioneering framework of federated learning, a federated dictionary learning method is proposed for process monitoring. In detail, local nodes train local data by the K-SVD method and learn local dictionaries. Then, local dictionaries, instead of local data, are transferred to the fusion center for calculation of the global dictionary. In order to guarantee an optimal global dictionary, a novel federated dictionary average strategy is introduced. Finally, the reconstruction errors of local data and the control limit are calculated based on the global dictionary for process monitoring. The performance of the proposed method is verified on a numerical simulation, the continuous stirred tank heater benchmark process, and the industrial aluminum electrolysis process. Process monitoring can help industrial enterprises monitor the operating status of the industrial process in real time based on the collected process data. However, industrial data are stored at the edge and enterprises pay more attention to the privacy of industrial data. The prohibition of external transmission of raw data leads to challenges for traditional centralized process monitoring methods. The federated dictionary learning method proposed in this article can have the good process monitoring performance under the premise of protecting data privacy, which is superior to some state-of-the-art methods. Reporting the contents of the prescription is a time-consuming and labor-intensive task for pharmacists, and it is easy to make mistakes in this kind of work that requires repeated confirmation under the time pressure of customers. Because medicines usually have an impact on the human body, if the wrong medicine is accidentally provided to the customer, it may even lead to death. Therefore, in our work, we train a bidirectional LSTM-CRF network combined with an attention mechanism to perform the NER task on prescription notes and extract key prescription declaration information. The semi-automatic labeling module was implemented using a rule-based approach, and a total of 636 different prescription notes were trained and tested, including hospitals, clinics, and medical centers. The identification accuracy rate is more than 90 % in each field of declaration information. Provides a UI interface for subsequent identification to facilitate pharmacists to modify the identification content and declare key information. © 2022 IEEE.

Tuberculosis is a legal infectious lung disease, a chronic infectious disease caused by tuberculosis. The diagnosis of the confirmed person is usually judged by chest X-ray images, and the sputum smear is used to detect the presence of tuberculosis in the sputum. Screening high-risk individuals can effectively prevent the spread of tuberculosis;however, chest X-ray image interpretation and sputum testing take a long time. When infectious tuberculosis patients are found, tuberculosis has already spread. We propose a tuberculosis diagnostic triage system and a tuberculosis detection system based on preprocessing of lung image segmentation. In the tuberculosis diagnosis and triage system, AI interpretation is performed immediately after the patient's chest X-ray is taken, and abnormal tuberculosis cases are immediately listed. Lung field cropping through U-Net for classification in the form of a multiple ensemble system, including the use of EfficientNet-BO, Densenet121, and Xception. After marking abnormal lung images, we use a tuberculosis detection system to find patients with tuberculosis and use GRAD-Cam to display the image areas that are of most interest to the model, similar to a heat map, allowing us to know the model Predicting focus areas for tuberculosis. We used specificity, sensitivity, accuracy, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) to evaluate the classification model performance. © 2022 IEEE.

In recent years, the research of autonomous robotic arms has received high attention from academia and industry, so this thesis aims to develop a visual detection system for robotic arms to grasp and place objects. Object detection technology The purpose of which is to locate objects of interest (target) in a given image, providing object location bounding boxes and categories. ROS is a set of open-source software libraries designed to simplify the creation of complex and robust on various robotic platforms. the task of the robot behavior. The proposed scheme uses a camera with depth information and combines target localization and edge detection algorithms to accurately measure the relative distance between the object and the robot arm. The process includes deep neural network construction and use, robotic arm positioning, object bounding box position information, and robotic arm movement control. Considering the visual scale, the relative distance between the target and the robotic arm is calculated so that the robotic arm can grasp the target and place the object in a specific position. This paper introduces how to combine the deep learning object detection model and ROS moveit! to complete the object identification and grasp and place the robotic arm. © 2022 IEEE.

In recent years, due to the impact of COVID-19 around the world, there has been a serious shortage of medical resources. In order to supplement the manpower and fear that medical staff's contact with patients will cause a breach in the epidemic, reduce the workload of nurses, and help nurses perform repetitive tasks so that nurses can concentrate more on the patient's condition. Therefore, this paper proposes M-Robot, which is a friendly interface service robot based on the Android system and can be controlled by voice, touch, and remote control in the medical care field. The system is mainly divided into two parts. One is the web server. The web server is divided into two parts: front-end and back-end. The front-end is responsible for friendly user interface management, and the back-end is for accessing the SQLite database, as well as processing speech recognition and semantic understanding in voice services. In the other part, we use TEMI robot to develop and complete the desired service. Its service content includes environment introduction, delivery service, questionnaire survey, broadcast car, scheduling reminder, follow-up record, and patient instruction video. In the voice control mode, the user can say the wake-up word to the robot and say the required service content, and the robot will execute after receiving the message;in the remote control mode, we provide a friendly web interface for remote control. Navigating the complex legal and regulatory landscape requires a sophisticated platform that is not only comprehensive but also user-friendly and enables seamless analysis and document comparison in the legal realm. To address this challenging requirement, this research is dedicated to the user experience (UX) design of state-of the-art cloud-native mobile applications specifically designed for legal and regulatory harmonization. The methodology used is based on design thinking principles and takes advantage of the benefits of cloud computing. These include, but are not limited to, scalability, reliability, and security. The result is a solution that is not only powerful but also cost-effective. The core of this application follows a user-centered design philosophy and involves potential users closely in the design process. A comprehensive evaluation is performed using the System Usability Scale (SUS) methodology to measure the effectiveness and usability of the application. The results of this comprehensive approach are convincing. The application has an impressive 95.5% usage rate, indicating strong user engagement. Furthermore, user satisfaction ratings are particularly high and transformative impact of this application in a complex environment of legal harmonization. Through its innovative design, seamless functionality, and user-centric approach, this application has proven to be not only a technical solution, but also a catalyst for positive change in the legal and regulatory harmonization process. © 2023 IEEE.
