In an aging society, dementia is a notable issue that occurs as individuals grow older, impacting cognitive ability and emotional well-being. This has led to the development of cognitive assessment tools to facilitate early detection of cognitive impairment. Limited utilization of computerized tests across different countries is due to the mismatch of existing computerized tests between the educational and cultural backgrounds of the elderly; this study sought to address this issue by developing the Integrated Cognitive Test (ICT). ICT is designed as a computerized tool for assessing the risk of cognitive impairment in Thai older adults with an easy-to-use interface. Thirty-six elderly participants with diverse education levels and without prior cognitive impairment diagnoses participated in the study. They completed MoCA, MMSE, and ICT in a single-day experiment. The scores, reaction time, and overall completion time were recorded for analysis. The study found significant differences between ICT and MMSE scores (p<0.001) but not with MoCA (p=0.421); the results indicated ICT's potential alignment with MoCA for cognitive assessment. The decision tree attained 80.60% accuracy in cognitive impairment risk classification using MoCA output. Key features impacting classification included average reaction time in working memory, memory recall, and standard deviation in language tasks. Overall, the analysis demonstrated that ICT is an effective tool for assessing cognitive impairment, for older adults. Furthermore, designing a cognitive test that considers the unique education and cultural backgrounds of the Thai elderly can serve as a model for creating similar tests for other populations.

Immersive learning has gained significant attention with the rising trend of spatial computing, particularly in the after-pandemic era. Numerous research has explored the potential of immersive learning in higher education, primarily on the educational sector. However, prior research has frequently focused too narrowly on the effects of technology and neglected to address the crucial element influencing successful immersive learning in higher education. This study seeks to pinpoint the crucial element contributing to the development of immersive learning experiences. The methodology uses a systematic literature review (SLR) from 2018 up to 2023 to investigate the critical factors of immersive Learning in Higher Education. From the 728 papers initially retrieved, 274 were considered potential candidates, and ultimately, 86 articles were selected based on their relevance to the research question. The results reveal that the critical factors include learning design, technology, immersion, engagement, interactivity, and usability. Academic interests will benefit from this SLR's consequences as institutions create models for designing suitable immersive learning, especially within the context of higher education. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid advancement of electronic textiles, the design and integration of connectors have emerged as pivotal challenges. This study emphasizes the development of a connection solution that amalgamates miniaturization, efficiency, and reliability, specifically tailored for Flexible Conductive Silicone Circuits. A diversified connection scheme is proposed, incorporating elements such as snaps, Pogo pins, and conductive hook-and-loop fasteners, thereby achieving an innovative and pragmatic design. Through meticulous manufacturing processes, including the utilization of hot-melt adhesive, PET films, conductive fabric, and other multilayer materials, a connection system with low impedance and commendable conductivity was successfully engineered. Impedance test outcomes have indicated that the resistance at each connection point is less than 0.7 ohms, substantiating its superior electrical properties. In terms of assembly, this research demonstrates the precise interconnection of the controller and conductive fabric circuit, ensured by metal pin technology, leading to connection stability. This solution not only furnishes appropriate connection technology for specific application scenarios but also opens new avenues and directions for connection design within the domain of electronic textiles.

The paper presents the development of a GaN DC-DC power converter with a pre-driver module and power device based on a monolithic integrated GaN E/D-mode metal-insulator-semiconductor high electron mobility transistors (MIS-HEMTs) platform. The pre-driver module with direct coupled field effect transistor logic circuit structure has been monolithically integrated with a GaN power transistor on a Si-based AlGaN/GaN commercial epitaxial wafer. The MIS-HEMTs structure adopts an insulated gate dielectric layer to suppress the leakage current and increase gate voltage robustness. The GaN-based floating buck converter employs a 1 mH inductor and a 9 μF capacitor to achieve 35 V-5 V power conversion. As a result, the pre-driver module is capable of delivering a 10 V driving voltage. GaN monolithic integration of the pre-driver module and power device can reduce the system area in the DC-DC application, which allows for an integrated chip size of 1.8 mm2 © 2023 IOP Publishing Ltd

Prognostics and health management (PHM) is an engineering discipline that aims to maintain system behaviour and function and ensure mission success, safety and effectiveness. Addressing the challenges in prognostics and health management for modern intelligent systems, especially automated driving systems, is complex due to the contextual nature of faults. This complexity necessitates a thorough understanding of spatial, and temporal conditions, and relationships within operational scenarios and life-cycle stages. This paper introduces a framework designed to automatically recognize driving scenarios in automated driving systems using graph neural networks (GNNs). The framework extracts relational data from image frames, constructing graph-based models and transforming unstructured sensory data into structured data with diverse node types and relationships. A specific graph neural network processes the graph model to reveal and detect operational conditions and relationships. The proposed framework is evaluated using the KITTI dataset, demonstrating superior performance compared to conventional feed-forward networks such as MLP, particularly in handling relational data.

This study introduces an innovative high step-up (HSU) converter designed for solar photovoltaic systems equipped with a maximum power point (MPP) tracker. This converter efficiently increases the output voltage while maintaining low voltage stress on its components, thanks to a novel combination of primary boost cells, switched capacitors, and voltage multiplier cells. A clamping circuit minimizes leakage energy, enhancing overall efficiency. Testing of a prototype confirmed its effective MPP tracking and high efficiency, with a conversion rate of 20 V-40 V to 380 V at 150 W and efficiencies between 90 % and 96 %.

Monitoring of fetal condition during labor could save hundred lives in a single year. During labor, fetus is at critical condition as acidosis may occur suddenly without any early symptoms. Invasive method such as Fetal Blood Sampling (FBS) has been used to detect the decline in pH level of fetus. However, fetal loss rate after FBS may range from 1.4% up to 25%. In this paper, magnetic field induction spectroscopy was implemented to determine fetal acidosis by using primary magnetic field cancellation technique. Magnetic Induction Spectroscopy (MIS) probe was design where transmitter coil (TX) is perpendicular to receiver coil (RX). The result shows that the secondary magnetic field produced have been successfully measured without any interruption from primary magnetic field. By using transmitter input 1A, it shows that voltage is inversely proportional to the blood pH due to the conductivity properties of blood. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. An accurate predictive model of temperature and humidity plays a vital role in many industrial processes that utilize a closed space such as in agriculture and building management. With the exceptional performance of deep learning on time-series data, developing a predictive temperature and humidity model with deep learning is propitious. In this study, we demonstrated that deep learning models with multivariate time-series data produce remarkable performance for temperature and relative humidity prediction in a closed space. In detail, all deep learning models that we developed in this study achieve almost perfect performance with an R value over 0.99. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

Novel wireless communication systems such as IoT devices and B5G are widely spreading, high performance electrically small antennas which is wireless interface of RF module is strongly demanded. As relationship between miniaturization of antenna and realization of high performance is trade-off, research and development for electrically small antennas are important. Though spherical helix antennas have been proposed as antennas that the size is possible to reduction by theoretical limitation, practical improvement of the antenna performance is required. This paper denotes broadbanding of the hemispherical helix antennas using an equivalent circuit with loss factor, and discuss the affects of loss factor on the wideband characteristics.
