作者: Richardson, James C. Berman, Paul I. Capt. James C. Richardson Jr. a surface warfare officer was graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and the American University. With proven subspecialities in Material Management and Computer Systems Technology he has served as Commanding Officer USS Hepburn (FF-IOSS) Program Manager of the Mk 86 Gun Fire Control System at the Naval Sea Systems Command and is currently Commanding Officer of the Navy Regional Data Automation Center Washington D. C. Paul Berman is manager of Product Support Engineering for Lockheed Electronics Company Plain field New Jersey. His department is responsible for logistics planning and analysk supply support field engineering training and technical documentation in support of the division as products. His 30 years of experience in product support include preparation of logistics plans engineering data technical publications and training materials. He is also an adjunct instructor at Rutgers University. Mr. Berman received a BA from Queens College in 1951 and an MA from Hunter College in 1957. He attended the U.S. Army Signal Corps radar school and was a field radio and radar repairman during the Korean War. He is currently a member of the Society of Logistics Engineers and the National Management Association.

George Luedeke Jr.: received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his MS degree in Product Design from Illinois Institute of Technology. Early in his career Mr. Luedeke joined General Motors Corporation as a designer responsible for development of people mover and rail rapid transit systems. From 1964 to 1974 he was with Hughes Aircraft Company. At Hughes he performed analyses and developed designs for a wide variety of program and proposal efforts such as: High Speed Ground Transportation (DOT) Task Force Command Center (NAVY) Panama Canal Marine Traffic Control Center (Panama Canal Co.) Royal Iranian Navy Command Center (Iran) Tactical Information Processing and Interpretation Center (Air Force) and WALLEYE CONDOR and PHOENIX Missile Systems (NAVY). He also had marketing development responsibilities related to the diversification of Hughes resources in civil business areas such as: Automatic train control (WMATA BARTD SCRTD) water/sewage treatment plant automation (Santa Clara County) Aqueduct Control (SWR) Hydrometeorological data collection (BPA WMO) and Salton Sea basin systems analysis (Dept. of the Interior). He was responsible for combat system integration for the Hughes 2000T Surface Effect Ship (SES) proposal. He also conducted detailed studies concerning ship flexure for the Improved Point Defense Target Acquisition System Program and for the definition of operational High Energy Laser weapon installations on a series of conventional monohulls (DLG DD and CVN). Since 1974 Mr. Luedeke has been employed at RMI Inc. (formerly Rohr Marine Inc.). During this time he has held several positions. His responsibilities have included directing a number of studies on advanced SES concepts managing activities defining mission/cost effectiveness of military and commercial SES's including defining the operational benefits and enhanced survivability characteristics of cargo SES's for high speed military sealiftfor NA TO and Southeast Asia

作者: CORNETT, PC The authorat FMC Corporation Northern Ordnance Division (FMC/NOD) has the dual responsibility of Manager of Design Assurance and Project Manager of the new Vertical Load Gun Family (VLGF). He received his BSEE degree from Colorado State University in 1962 and his MSEE degree from the University of Minnesota in 1969. As the Design Assurance Manager at FMC/NOD he is responsible for the areas of: Product Evaluation Human Factors and System Studies Reliability Maintainability and Availability Engineering Standards and Controls and Engineering Test. As Project Manager for the VLGF he has full responsibility for all aspects of the new gun development program. From 1964 to 1979 Mr. Cornett was Senior Project Engineer at FMC/NOD. During this period he was responsible for the development design production and test of electronic control systems for several of the Gun Mounts and Guided Missile Launching Systems produced at FMC/NOD. From 1962 to 1964 he was with Sperry Utah Company as cognizant engineer for an electronic assembly in the Sergeant Missile Launcher. Mr. Cornett has applied for a patent for a velocimeter for measuring projectile muzzle velocity. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Ryan graduated from Frostburg State College and has performed graduate studies in Technology of Management at American University and University of Southern California. He is presently Executive Director of the Surface Missile Systems Sub-Group in the Naval Sea Systems Command. He was previously Deputy Project Manager of the MK-92 FCS/MK-75 Gun Project Deputy Systems Engineering Manager in the AEGIS Project and Surface Missile Systems Branch Head in the Naval Ordnance Systems Command. His earlier experience with the Department of the Navy included the Engineering Interface Management Office in the Bureau of Ships the Foreign Ship Systems Engineering Office and Switching Systems Design Office at RCA Service Company and he served for four years in the U.S. Navy as an Electronic Technician Petty Officer. In addition to ASNE he is a member of the Association of Scientists and Engineers and is the Executive Director (NAVSEA) for the 1978-79 term. In addition to several outstanding performance awards and citations for achievement Mr. Ryan received the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award for exceptional contribution to the development of the AEGIS Weapon System. Mr. Jack Berlin received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the City College of New York and his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University. He spent eight years in the Radar and Microwave Electronics Section of the Naval Material Laboratory. Subsequently. he has had extensive experience in Radar and Fire Control Systems. This has included responsibility for the design and field evaluation of the GFCS MK 87 Radar. From 1972 to 1973 he was the Sperry Program Manager for the Fire Control System (FCS) MK 92. He has been a Behavioral Scientist in industry and government since 1960 working on command and control systems and simulations for the Strategic Air Command Job Corps Information Management System Permissive Action Link System Helicopter Attack System Riverine Warfare Systems Manpower Simulation Modeling and Facility Maintenance and Manpower Utilization. He has been employed at the Navy Personnel Research and Development Center formerly the Navy Personnel Research Laboratory since 1967 and has presented papers and participated in numerous international and national symposia. At the present time Mr. Schwartz is the principal investigator of the Facilities Maintenance Demonstration Study being conducted at David W. Taylor Naval Ship Research and Development Center. Mr. James L. Cordergraduated from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1958 and received his MS degree in Engineering Science in 1964 from The George Washington University. He served aboard a Destroyer and instructed in the Engineering Department U. S. Naval Academy until 1964. Since then he has been employed at the David W. Taylor Naval Ship Research and Development Center where he was the Program Manager for the Shipboard Manning and Automation Program until September 1977 and currently is assigned to DTNSRDC Annapolis Md. Mr. Corder who received a Letter of Commendation from the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (R&D) for his work performed while assigned on temporary additional duty at the Navy Research and Development Unit Vietnam in 1968 has been a member of ASNE since February 1965.

作者: MARCY, HT The Honorable H. Tyler (“Ty”) Marcy:was born in 1918 in Rochester New York but moved to Baltimore Maryland at an early age where he attended public schools. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from which he received both his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering. Subsequent to receiving the latter degree in 1941 he designed and developed gun control systems in the MIT Servomechanism Laboratory until 1946 when he became Associate Director Special Projects Department M. W. Kellogg Company and worked on rocket engine development missile controls and analog air defense systems. In 1951 Mr. Marcy left Kellogg Company to join the IBM Corporation where he remained until 1972 and was employed in various engineering and managerial positions. At IBM his first assignment concerned the bomb/navigational system for the B-52 aircraft. He then moved into commercial development of data processing machines and peripheral devices subsequently being placed in a series of technical management positions which included Assistant Manager of Product Development Corporate Headquarters New York (1956) Manager Poughkeepsie N.Y. Laboratory (1957) Vice-President General Products Division (1962) Vice-President Systems Development Division (1965) and Director of Technology Corporate Headquarters Armonk N. Y. (1968). His last position was held until 1972 when he left IBM to do private consulting work in engineering management technology and program review. In October 1974 he was appointed by the President to his present office as Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research and Development. Mr. Marcy has been a member of the Instrument Society of America since 1963 serving as its President from 1971 until 1974. In 1967 he became a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) for his leadership in feedback control and for his significant contribution to the management of technical enterprise. 作者: CALOGERO, R MCMANUS, D Robert Calogero graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in February 1965. He entered the Magnetic Defense Section of Propulsion Power and Auxiliary Systems Division of the Naval Ship Engineering Center where he had previously served as a summer student engineering aid. In December 1968 he transferred to the Maintenance Management Branch of NAVSHIPS where he assumed responsibility as Manager of the Operational Sequencing System. Calogero is presently in the Engineering Administration Program offered at the George Washington University and is a member of the Association of Senior Engineers of the Naval Ships Systems Command. Donald McManus graduated from the Maine Maritime Academy in 1954 and received his Bachelor of Marine Science Degree Commission in the U. S. Naval Reserve and a USCG Marine Engineer's license. After graduation he sailed as a licensed engineer aboard steam and diesel powered tankers and “dry cargo” vessels engaged in worldwide commercial trade. Upon release from active duty in 1958 he was employed for the next eight and one-half years at the Sun Shipbuilding and Drydock Co. Chester Pa. in various engineering capacities. McManus came to the Naval Ship Engineering Center in December 1966 and is presently employed as a Marine Engineer in the Control Section of Machinery Arrangement and Controls Branch. He is a member of the Association of Senior Engineers of the Naval Ship Systems Command.
