Prediction of subsurface oil reservoir pressure are critical to hydrocarbon production. However, the accurate pressure estimation faces great challenges due to the complexity and uncertainty of reservoir. The underground seepage flow and petrophysical parameters (permeability and porosity) are important but difficult to measure in oilfield. Deep learning methods have been successfully used in reservoir engineering and oil & gas production process. In this study, the effective but inaccessible subsurface seepage fields are not used, only the spatial coordinates and temporal information are selected as model input to predict reservoir pressure. A stacked GRU-based deep learning model is proposed to map the relationship between spatio-temporal data and reservoir pressure. The proposed deep learning method is verified by using a three-dimensional reservoir model, and compared with commonly-used methods. The results show that the stacked GRU model has a better performance and higher accuracy than other deep learning or machine learning methods in pressure prediction.

Linear motor has promising application prospects because of its direct motion and thrust output. Linear oscillating motor, whose mover is inserted with a high stiffness spring, can provide high frequency reciprocating motion with high working efficiency. Former research indicates that combination strategy of feedforward control and feedback control has unique advantages on close loop control of high stiffness system. control law of model predictive consists of feedforward and feedback to cope with the high stiffness control system with limited sample time. In this paper, model predictive control (MPC) is introduced to linear oscillating motor (LOM) based state observer. According to the law of MPC, stability analysis is proved and simulation results show that MPC can provide excellent dynamic performance with high control accuracy for LOM. © 2022 IET Conference Proceedings. In order to enhance the anti-disturbance capability of voltage fluctuation during microgrid island operation, a decentralized dynamic disturbance compensation control strategy for multiple inverters in parallel based on robust residual generator is proposed. First, a parallel state space model of multiple inverters with line parameters under quasi-stationary line conditions is established. Secondly, for the double closed loop control structure of the inverter, a dynamic compensation controller Q(s) is designed from the perspective of disturbance cancellation, and its control signal is applied to the input terminal of the current loop to realize superposition with the original system current given signal. Then, a residual generator and a dynamic compensation controller Qi(s) are added to each parallel inverter to realize mutual influence among multiple inverters further decoupling. Finally, hardware-in-the-loop experiment on three inverters in parallel are designed on the RTDS platform to verify the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

For semilinear parabolic PDE systems, the sampled-data observer (SDO) design under spatially point measurements (SPMs) with exponential time-varying gains is concerned. On basis of a Lyapunov functional, a SDO with exponential time-varying gains under SPMs via linear matrix inequalities is presented to guarantee the exponential stability of estimation error PDE system. Using a traditional automation approach for modern production challenges that require highly flexible, deliberative, adaptive, and collaborative solutions is inadequate. Instead of explicitly programming control code and performing virtual verification for topologically static and fully automatic roboticcells, intelligent automation systems have emerged to offer an alternative to how automation is currently performed. This entails the use of behavior modeling, planning, scheduling, control, and testing algorithms which are not yet integrated in the traditional automation tool-chain, as well as virtual modeling, preparation, commissioning, and verification tools which offer more flexibility compared to well established and commercially available tools. To address the gap between the need of intelligent automation systems and the lack of tools that are needed to implement such systems,this paper presents a framework for virtual preparation and commissioning of intelligent automation systems, with the main goal to depict the steps that have to be taken in order to develop such systems, and to offer support for engineers to take those steps. The framework consists of steps such as virtual preparation, resource emulation, and several steps such as constructive, hardware-in-the-loop, reality-in-the-loop, and physical commissioning. This paper aims to lay down some of the groundwork for fast and integrated preparation and virtual commissioning of intelligent automation systems, and provides an industrial use-case to exemplify the application of this framework. © 2022, The Authors. This paper considers the distributed bandit convex optimization problem with time-varying inequality constraints over a network of agents, where the goal is to minimize network regret and cumulative constraint violation. Existing distributed online algorithms require that each agent broadcasts its decision to its neighbors at each iteration. To better utilize the limited communication resources, we propose a distributed event-triggered online primal-dual algorithm with two-point bandit feedback. Under several classes of appropriately chosen decreasing parameter sequences and non-increasing event-triggered threshold sequences, we establish dynamic network regret and network cumulative constraint violation bounds. These bounds are comparable to the results achieved by distributed event-triggered online algorithms with full-information feedback. Hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HILS) allows a more realistic evaluation of control approaches than what is possible with pure software simulations, but without the actual complexity of the complete system. This is important for some complex systems such as orbital robots, where testing of the system is typically not possible after its launch, and an on-ground replica is used to validate the performance of such a system. In this article, an impedance-matching approach is presented to match the end-effector dynamics of a fixed-base robot manipulator with that of a target vehicle-manipulator system (VMS), while taking into account the redundant nullspace dynamics in a connected real-time simulation framework. This approach ensures that the forces and torques exerted by the system on the environment matches with that of the simulated system. The contact wrenches used in our approach are not obtained from numerical simulations, but rather from real physical interaction, which is one of the main advantages of our approach. The effectiveness of our method is validated by demonstrating various physical interaction tasks with the environment, using a suspended aerial manipulator as the target system.

The stomatopod (mantis shrimp) visual system has recently provided a blueprint for the design of paradigm-shifting polarization and multispectral imaging sensors, enabling solutions to challenging medical and remote sensing problems. However, these bioinspired frame-based cameras lack the high dynamic range and asynchronous polarization vision capabilities of the stomatopod visual system, limiting temporal resolution to ~12ms and dynamic range to ~72dB. Here we present a novel stomatopod-inspired polarization camera which mimics the sustained and transient biological visual pathways to save power and sample data beyond the maximum Nyquist frame rate. This bio-inspired sensor simultaneously captures both synchronous intensity frames and asynchronous polarization brightness change information with submillisecond latencies over a millionfold range of illumination. Our PDAVIS camera is comprised of 346x260 pixels, organized in 2-by-2 macropixels, which filter the incoming light with four linear polarization filters offset by 45°. Polarization information is reconstructed using both low-cost and low-latency event-based algorithms and more accurate but slower deep neural networks. In recent years, large language models (LLM) have received a lot of attention for their ability to understand, generate and process natural language. By fine-tuning the models on specific domains or using prompts, LLMs can generate summaries tailored to different contexts and requirements. We hope to utilize these advantages of LLM in urban traffic signal control and provide a new paradigm for traffic control. In this paper, we propose a large language model-driven urban traffic control method, which is designed based on artificial systems, computational experiments, parallel execution (ACP) method. There are three traffic control modes, autonomous mode, feedback mode, and human takeover mode. In autonomous mode, we adopt recommendations based on inventory strategy, which can to some extent reduce the acquisition time of traffic control strategies. With the continuous construction and improvement of the strategic library, the efficiency of the system will be further improved. The feedback mode is mainly aimed at traffic scenarios that are not in the library, generating new control strategies and introducing human feedback. The human takeover model ensures that human engineers have direct control over the actual transportation system. LLM drives the interaction between human engineers and computers in the process of traffic control. Assist human engineers in achieving traffic control and improving work efficiency.

The sole situation of semi-crystalline structure induced single performance remarkably limits the green cryogels in the application of soft devices due to uncontrolled freezing field. Here, a facile strategy for achieving multifunctionality of cryogels is proposed using total amorphization of polymer. Through precisely lowering the freezing point of precursor solutions with an antifreezing salt, the suppressed growth of ice is achieved, creating an unusually weak and homogenous aggregation of polymer chains upon freezing, thereby realizing the tunable amorphization of polymer and the coexistence of free and hydrogen bonding hydroxyl groups. Such multi-scale microstructures trigger the integrated properties of tissue-like ultrasoftness (Young’s modulus <10 kPa) yet stretchability, high transparency (~92%), self-adhesion, and instantaneous self-healing (<0.3 s) for cryogels, along with superior ionic-conductivity, antifreezing (−58 °C) and water-retention abilities, pushing the development of skin-like cryogel electronics. These concepts open an attractive branch for cryogels that adopt regulated crystallization behavior for on-demand functionalities. © 2023, Springer Nature Limited.
