The directed acyclic word graph (DAWG) of a string y is the smallest (partial) DFA which recognizes all suffixes of y and has only O(n) nodes and edges. We present the first O(n)-time algorithm for computing the DAWG of a given string y of length n over an integer alphabet of polynomial size in n. We also show that a straightforward modification to our DAWG construction algorithm leads to the first O(n)-time algorithm for constructing the affix tree of a given string y over an integer alphabet. Affix trees are a text indexing structure supporting bidirectional pattern searches. As an application to our O(n)-time DAWG construction algorithm, we show that the set MAW(y) of all minimal absent words of y can be computed in optimal O(n +MAW(y)) time and O(n) working space for integer alphabets. © Peter Fulla and Stanislav Živný.

Mobile devices are becoming an indispensable part of daily lives. This system has been developed interactive android application to assist and provide the support helps people such as blind and other physically limited people who face. They will be done for outgoing calling to his family and also the area around them. Speech recognition is technology that uses desired equipment and a service which can be controlled through voice of the android smart phone. An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is an information processing paradigm that is inspired by the way biological nervous systems, such as the brain, process information. The device proposed here is an interactive android platform, which is capable of recognizing spoken words. We propose to developed interactive android application and also added some features which are currently available in android based smartphones such as attending for a line calling feature and out-going calling feature, over the voice commands which can run on the tablet or any android based phone. Speech recognition have a data set to translate between users' descriptions and the labels in the database, which has entries on the speech recognition (sounds and patterns) that make up the sound.

In this paper, a supervised energy disaggregation method is proposed. The appliances that are monitored, are modelled by multi-state finite state machines. Each state of an appliance is described by exactly one vector of power consumptions from a carefully designed set of such vectors (called atoms), that comprise a dictionary. The latter is constructed during a training phase, where it is assumed that individual power consumption signals are available. A clustering algorithm is applied on overlapping patches extracted from the training signals to select a fixed number of representatives, i.e., the atoms of the dictionary. Moreover, in the training phase, an appropriate state transition probabilities matrix is constructed. During the operation phase, where the actual disaggregation task is performed, a trellis, with a reduced number of transitions, is used for the acquisition of the disaggregated power consumption signals per appliance. Numerical results, using the REDD dataset, are provided, in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2016 IEEE.

In this paper we address the growing concerns of wind power integration from the perspective of power system dynamics and stability. We propose a new retrofit control technique where an additional controller is designed at the doubly-fed induction generator site inside the wind power plant. This controller cancels the adverse impacts of the power flow from the wind side to the grid side on the dynamics of the overall power system. The main advantage of this controller is that it can be implemented by feeding back only the wind states and wind bus voltage without depending on any of the other synchronous machines in the rest of the system. Through simulations of a 4-machine Kundur power system model we show that the retrofit can efficiently enhance the damping performance of the system variable despite very high values of wind penetration.

The recently created IETF 6TiSCH working group combines the high reliability and low-energy consumption of IEEE 802.15.4e Time Slotted Channel Hopping with IPv6 for industrial Internet of Things. We propose a distributed link scheduling algorithm, called Local Voting, for 6TiSCH networks that adapts the schedule to the network conditions. The algorithm tries to equalize the link load (defined as the ratio of the queue length over the number of allocated cells) through cell reallocation. Local Voting calculates the number of cells to be added or released by the 6TiSCH Operation Sublayer (6top). Compared to a representative algorithm from the literature, Local Voting provides simultaneously high reliability and low end-to-end latency while consuming significantly less energy. Its performance has been examined and compared to On-the-fly algorithm in 6TiSCH simulator by modeling an industrial environment with 50 sensors. Copyright © 2017, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Implementation of Decision Support System for various purposes now can facilitate policy makers to get the best alternative from a variety of predefined criteria, one of the methods used in the implementation of Decision Support System is VIKOR (Vise Kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje), VIKOR method in this research got the best results with an efficient and easily understood process computationally, it is expected that the results of this study facilitate various parties to develop a model any solutions.

Optimal measurement policy for predicting uav network topology

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in using networks of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) that collectively perform complex tasks for diverse applications. An important challenge in realizing UAV networks is the need for a communication platform that accommodates rapid network topology changes. For instance, a timely prediction of network topology changes can reduce communication link loss rate by setting up links with prolonged connectivity. In this work, we develop an optimal tracking policy for each UAV to perceive its surrounding network configuration in order to facilitate more efficient communication protocols. More specifically, we develop an algorithm based on particle swarm optimization and Kalman filtering with intermittent observations to find a set of optimal tracking policies for each UAV under timevarying channel qualities and constrained tracking resources such that the overall network estimation error is minimized. A search for W′ bosons decaying to a top and a bottom quark in final states including an electron or a muon is performed with the CMS detector at the LHC. The analyzed data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb⁻¹ of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Good agreement with the standard model expectation is observed and no evidence for the existence of the W′ boson is found over the mass range examined. The largest observed deviation from the standard model expectation is found for a W′ boson mass (mW_′) hypothesis of 3.8 TeV with a relative decay width of 1%, with a local (global) significance of 2.6 (2.0) standard deviations. Upper limits on the production cross sections of W′ bosons decaying to a top and a bottom quark are set. Left- and right-handed W′ bosons with mW_′ below 3.9 and 4.3 TeV, respectively, are excluded at the 95% confidence level, under the assumption that the new particle has a narrow decay width. Limits are also set for relative decay widths up to 30%. © The Author(s) 2024.
