Currently, the 4G network service has caused massive digital growth in high use. Video calling has become the go-to Internet application for many people, downloading even huge files in minutes. Everyone is looking for and buying only 4G Subscriber Identity Module (SIM)-capable mobiles. In this case, the expectation of 5G has increased in line with 2G, 3G, and 4G, where the G stands for generation, and it does not indicate Internet or Internet speed. 5G includes next-generation features that are more advanced than those available in 4G network services. The main objective of 5G is uninterrupted telecommunication service in hybrid energy storage system. This paper proposes an intelligent networking model to obtain the maximum energy efficiency and Artificial Intelligence (AI) automation of 5G networks. There is currently an issue where the signal cuts out when crossing an area with one tower and traveling to an area with another tower. The problem of “call drop”, where the call is disconnected while talking, is not present in 5G. The proposed Intelligent Computational Model (ICM) model obtained 96.31% network speed management, 90.63% battery capacity management, 92.27% network device management, 93.57% energy efficiency, and 88.41% AI automation.

Data clustering is an essential technique for analyzing complex datasets and continues to be a central research topic in data *** clustering algorithms,such as K-means,are widely used due to their simplicity and *** paper proposes a novel Spiral Mechanism-Optimized Phasmatodea Population Evolution Algorithm(SPPE)to improve clustering *** SPPE algorithm introduces several enhancements to the standard Phasmatodea Population Evolution(PPE)***,a Variable Neighborhood Search(VNS)factor is incorporated to strengthen the local search capability and foster population ***,a position update model,incorporating a spiral mechanism,is designed to improve the algorithm’s global exploration and convergence ***,a dynamic balancing factor,guided by fitness values,adjusts the search process to balance exploration and exploitation *** performance of SPPE is first validated on CEC2013 benchmark functions,where it demonstrates excellent convergence speed and superior optimization results compared to several state-of-the-art metaheuristic *** further verify its practical applicability,SPPE is combined with the K-means algorithm for data clustering and tested on seven *** results show that SPPE-K-means improves clustering accuracy,reduces dependency on initialization,and outperforms other clustering *** study highlights SPPE’s robustness and efficiency in solving both optimization and clustering challenges,making it a promising tool for complex data analysis tasks.

Data Augmentation via Face Morphing for Recognizing Intensities of Facial Emotions

Being able to recognize emotional intensity is a desirable feature for a facial emotional recognition (FER) system. However, the development of such a feature is hindered by the paucity of intensity-labeled data for model training. To ameliorate the situation, the present study proposes using face morphing as a novel way of data augmentation to synthesize faces that express different degrees of a designated emotion. Such an approach has been successfully validated on humans and machines. Specifically, humans indeed perceived different levels of intensified emotions in these parametrically synthesized faces, and FER systems based on neural networks indeed showed improved sensitivities to intensities of different emotions when additionally trained on the synthesized faces. Overall, the proposed data augmentation method is not only simple and effective but also useful for building FER systems that recognize facial expressions of mixed emotions. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

A low-fabrication-temperature, high-gain chip-scale waveguide amplifier

The increasing prevalence of integrated on-chip optoelectronic devices has identified serious issues regarding inter-device transmission and coupling losses, highlighting an urgent need for on-chip waveguide amplifiers to compensate for these losses. Compared with other Er-based optical materials, erbium silicate is ideally suited to high-efficiency on-chip amplifiers and lasers because of its extremely high Er3+concentration(1022cm-3). Nevertheless, erbium silicate must be annealed above 1000℃ to crystallize and activate the Er3+, which damages other on-chip optoelectronic components and is not conducive to device ***, we report a low-fabrication-temperature, high-luminescence-efficiency gain material by adding Bi2O3to an erbium-ytterbium silicate mixed film. Our experiments demonstrate that the proposed film crystallizes at 600℃ while the activation of Er3+is also achieved, which is the lowest activation temperature of on-chip waveguide amplifier to our knowledge. This material forms the basis for a new chip-scale waveguide amplifier design, with a theoretical multi-energy-level model of Bi-Er-Yb in the mixed thin films used to analyze its signal enhancement properties. We achieve a peak on-chip gain of 23 dB in a 3.3-mm-long waveguide under the pump and signal powers of 300 mW and 1 μW, respectively. These results highlight the potential of the proposed material for realizing on-chip amplifiers and lasers for large-scale nanophotonic integrated circuits.

Multi-view action recognition aims to identify action categories from given clues. Existing studies ignore the negative influences of fuzzy views between view and action in disentangling, commonly arising the mistaken recognition results. To this end, we regard the observed image as the composition of the view and action components, and give full play to the advantages of multiple views via the adaptive cooperative representation among these two components, forming a Dual-Recommendation Disentanglement Network (DRDN) for multi-view action recognition. Specifically, 1) For the action, we leverage a multi-level Specific Information Recommendation (SIR) to enhance the interaction among intricate activities and views. SIR offers a more comprehensive representation of activities, measuring the trade-off between global and local information. 2) For the view, we utilize a Pyramid Dynamic Recommendation (PDR) to learn a complete and detailed global representation by transferring features from different views. It is explicitly restricted to resist the fuzzy noise influence, focusing on positive knowledge from other views. Our DRDN aims for complete action and view representation, where PDR directly guides action to disentangle with view features and SIR considers mutual exclusivity of view and action clues. Extensive experiments have indicated that the multi-view action recognition method DRDN we proposed achieves state-of-the-art performance over powerful competitors on several standard benchmarks. In Non-Geostationary Orbit Satellite Networks (NGOSNs) with a large number of battery-carrying satellites, proper power allocation and task scheduling are crucial to improving data offloading efficiency. In this work, we jointly optimize power allocation and task scheduling to achieve energy-efficient data offloading in NGOSNs. Our goal is to properly balance the minimization of the total energy consumption and the maximization of the sum weights of tasks. Due to the tight coupling between power allocation and task scheduling, we first derive the optimal power allocation solution to the joint optimization problem with any given task scheduling policy. We then leverage the conflict graph model to transform the joint optimization problem into an Integer Linear Programming (ILP) problem with any given power allocation strategy. We explore the unique structure of the ILP problem to derive an efficient semidefinite relaxation-based solution. Finally, we utilize the genetic framework to combine the above special solutions as a two-layer solution for the original joint optimization problem. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed solution can properly balance the reduction of total energy consumption and the improvement of the sum weights of tasks, thus achieving superior system performance over the current literature. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

DUAL-STEP OPTIMIZATION FOR BINARY SEQUENCES WITH HIGH MERIT FACTORS

MSC Codes 68T20The problem of finding aperiodic low auto-correlation binary sequences (LABS) presents a significant computational challenge, particularly as the sequence length increases. Such sequences have important applications in communication engineering, physics, chemistry, and cryptography. This paper introduces a novel dual-step algorithm for long binary sequences with high merit factors. The first step employs a parallel algorithm utilizing skew-symmetry and restriction classes to generate sequence candidates with merit factors above a predefined threshold. The second step uses a priority queue algorithm to refine these candidates further, searching the entire search space unrestrictedly. By combining GPU-based parallel computing and dual-step optimization, our approach has successfully identified new best-known binary sequences for all lengths ranging from 450 to 527, with the exception of length 518, where the previous best-known value was matched with a different sequence. This hybrid method significantly outperforms traditional exhaustive and stochastic search methods, offering an efficient solution for finding long sequences with good merit factors. © 2024, CC BY.
