Cognitive neuroscience aims to develop computational models that can accurately predict and explain neural responses to sensory inputs in the cortex. Recent studies attempt to leverage the representation power of deep neural networks(DNNs) to predict the brain response and suggest a correspondence between artificial and biological neural networks in their feature representations. However, typical voxel-wise encoding models tend to rely on specific networks designed for computer vision tasks, leading to suboptimal brain-wide correspondence during cognitive tasks. To address this challenge, this work proposes a novel approach that upgrades voxel-wise encoding models through multi-level integration of features from DNNs and information from brain networks. Our approach combines DNN feature-level ensemble learning and brain atlas-level model integration, resulting in significant improvements in predicting whole-brain neural activity during naturalistic video perception. Furthermore, this multi-level integration framework enables a deeper understanding of the brain's neural representation mechanism, accurately predicting the neural response to complex visual concepts. We demonstrate that neural encoding models can be optimized by leveraging a framework that integrates both data-driven approaches and theoretical insights into the functional structure of the cortical networks.

Advancements in wearable electronics and portable sensors have enabled long-term and real-time health monitoring. Among these advancements, wearable ultrasound devices have garnered attention due to their portability, ease of use, and ability to penetrate deep tissues in the human body. The images generated by these devices can be harnessed for computer vision tasks, providing valuable insights into an individual’s health status even during physical activity. This paper explores the design of such wearable ultrasound imagers, surveys their current applications, and offers insights into future prospects, including visual image processing and real-time analysis. The study also addresses the challenges of using wearable ultrasound for long-term health monitoring, emphasizing the need for ongoing innovation and research. ©2024 IEEE.

Parasitic capacitance of dc/dc transformers interfacing the cascaded H-Bridge (CHB) converter can introduce extra switching losses. A switching loss reduction method with diode clamped grounding for dc/dc transformers connecting CHB is proposed in this paper. The transformer grounding is connected to diode clamping circuit on the low voltage dc link to partially cancel the voltage charging/discharging the parasitic capacitances. Simulation and test have been demonstrated that the proposed method has reduced 53% of the parasitics induced loss and \sim 6% of the total converter loss in the setup with one simple diode half-bridge clamping circuit added on each converter cell. © 2023 IEEE.

REBa_(2)Cu_(3)O_(7−x)(REBCO)coated conductors,owing to its high tensile strength and current‐carrying ability in a background field,are widely regarded a promising candidate in high‐field *** the great potentials,recent studies have highlighted the challenges posed by screening currents,which are featured by a highly nonuniform current distribution in the superconducting *** this paper,we report a comprehensive study on the behaviors of screening currents in a compact REBCO coil,specifically the screeningcurrent‐induced magnetic fields and *** were carried out in the self‐generated magnetic field and a background field,*** the self‐field condition,the full hysteresis of the magnetic field was obtained by applying current sweeps with repeatedly reversed polarity,as the nominal center field reached 9.17 T with a maximum peak current of 350 *** a background field of 23.15 T,the insert coil generated a center field of 4.17 T with an applied current of 170 ***,a total center field of 32.58 T was achieved before *** the sequential model and the coupled model considering the perpendicular field modification due to conductor deformation are *** comparative study shows that,for this coil,the electromagnetic–mechanical coupling plays a trivial role in self‐field conditions up to 9 *** contrast,with a high axial field dominated by the background field,the coupling effect has a stronger influence on the predicted current and strain *** discussions regarding the role of background field on the strains in the insert suggest potential design strategies to maximize the total center field.

Cryptocurrency, as a typical application scene of blockchain, has attracted broad interests from both industrial and academic communities. With its rapid development, the cryptocurrency transaction network embedding(CTNE) has become a hot topic. It embeds transaction nodes into low-dimensional feature space while effectively maintaining a network structure,thereby discovering desired patterns demonstrating involved users' normal and abnormal behaviors. Based on a wide investigation into the state-of-the-art CTNE, this survey has made the following efforts: 1) categorizing recent progress of CTNE methods, 2) summarizing the publicly available cryptocurrency transaction network datasets, 3) evaluating several widely-adopted methods to show their performance in several typical evaluation protocols, and 4) discussing the future trends of CTNE. By doing so, it strives to provide a systematic and comprehensive overview of existing CTNE methods from static to dynamic perspectives,thereby promoting further research into this emerging and important field.

Although the performance of perovskite solar cells(PSCs)has been dramatically increased in recent years,stability is still the main obstacle preventing the PSCs from being *** device instability can be caused by a variety of reasons,including ions diffusion,surface and grain boundary defects,*** this work,the cross-linkable tannic acid(TA)is introduced to modify perovskite film through post-treatment *** numerous organic functional groups(–OH and C=O)in TA can interact with the uncoordinated Pb^(2+)and I^(-)ions in perovskite,thus passivating defects and inhibiting ions *** addition,the formed TA network can absorb a small amount of the residual moisture inside the device to protect the perovskite ***,TA modification regulates the energy level of perovskite,and reduces interfacial charge ***,following TA treatment,the device efficiency is increased significantly from 21.31%to 23.11%,with a decreased hysteresis ***,the treated device shows excellent air,thermal,and operational *** light of this,the readily available,inexpensive TA has the potential to operate as a multipurpose interfacial modifier to increase device efficiency while also enhancing device stability.

Fossil fuels and air pollution are significant problems nowadays, causing many countries to increase their investments in renewable energy development. As the world's energy demand grows, governments are looking into and developing alternative energy sources like solar energy. Solar energy is one of the most promising solutions to address the above problem. In addition, the development of sustainable design in architecture has become a crucial factor in the construction industry as the world faces the challenges of climate change and diminishing fossil fuel reserves. Architects are now seeking innovative ways to incorporate sustainable and renewable energy sources into their designs. Solar energy, as a sustainable and clean energy source, has gained significant attention in recent years. It offers an opportunity to reduce the dependence on non-renewable energy sources and lower carbon emissions. Additionally, the use of solar technology in architectural designs can enhance the aesthetic appeal of buildings while providing energy efficiency. Building-integrated photovoltaic systems have emerged as a popular solution that allows for the integration of photovoltaic cells into the structure of buildings. In this paper, a new architectural design for a building in Tehran is proposed, which leads to the increase of generated solar energy. Needless to say, the designs must be beautiful to look at, functional, and good for the environment. Grasshopper and rhino are utilized to demonstrate the design. In addition, System Advisor Model (SAM) is implemented to study the economic analysis of the solar photovoltaic system planted on the building. The simulation result indicates that with the new design, the power production is increased from 21437 kWh to 69484 kWh. In addition, by using the proposed system in comparison with fossil fuel power plants, a huge amount of air pollution is will be removed from the air. © 2023 IEEE.

PESTA: An Elastic Motion Capture Data Retrieval Method
