The head-related transfer function(HRTF)plays a vital role in immersive virtual reality and augmented reality technologies,especially in spatial audio synthesis for binaural *** article proposes a deep learning method with generic HRTF amplitudes and anthropometric parameters as input features for individual HRTF *** designing fully convolutional neural networks,the key anthropometric parameters and the generic HRTF amplitudes were used to predict each individual HRTF amplitude spectrum in the full-space directions,and the interaural time delay(ITD)was predicted by the transformer *** the amplitude prediction model,the attention mechanism was adopted to better capture the relationship of HRTF amplitude spectra at two distinctive directions with large angle differences in ***,with the minimum phase model,the predicted amplitude spectrum and ITDs were used to obtain a set of individual head-related impulse *** the separate training of the HRTF amplitude and ITD generation models,their joint training was also considered and *** root-mean-square error and the log-spectral distortion were selected as objective measurement metrics to evaluate the *** experiments further showed that the auditory source localisation performance of the proposed method was better than other methods in most cases.

A flexible-grid 1×(2×3)mode-and wavelength-selective switch which comprises counter-tapered couplers and silicon microring resonators has been proposed,optimized,and demonstrated experimentally in this *** carefully thermally tuning phase shifters and silicon microring resonators,mode and wavelength signals can be independently and flexibly conveyed to any one of the output ports,and different bandwidths can be generated as *** particle swarm optimization algorithm and finite difference time-domain method are employed to optimize structural parameters of the twomode(de)multiplexer and crossing *** bandwidth-tunable wavelength-selective optical router composed of12 microring resonators is studied by taking advantage of the transfer matrix *** results show that,for the fabricated module,cross talk less than-10.18 dB,an extinction ratio larger than 17.41 d B,an in-band ripple lower than0.79 dB,and a 3-dB bandwidth changing from 0.38 to 1.05 nm are obtained,as the wavelength-channel spacing is 0.40 *** corresponding response time is measured to be 13.64μs.

As a result of modernity and advances in technology, protecting women has emerged as an issue that has to be addressed immediately not just in India but also in a number of other countries. Due to the structural difficulties that are connected with handling cases of this nature, the police are unable to respond to valid calls for assistance. It is difficult to approach the murder scene in an individual manner, and it is hard to determine where the crime began and where the victims died. It is also difficult to determine who committed the crime. As a direct consequence of this, the proportion of crimes in India that are perpetrated against women and children continues to climb, sowing the seed of dread in the minds of the people who live in the nation. As a direct consequence of this, the government has enacted a multitude of regulations with the intention of safeguarding the well-being of women and children. If a female volunteer in this research feels uncomfortable or unsafe in any way, she is told to use the 'Panic Button'. All these communications are handled by using the latest technology called Internet of Things (IoT) and when the alarm is activated, the gadget makes use of technology known as the Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the exact position of the user. It then sends a signal of distress through GSM to the user's phone as well as the closest police station. A module connected to the Internet of Things is used to perform continuous monitoring of the location, and the website is automatically updated to reflect any changes. The buzzer will go off as soon as the accelerometer detects that she has fallen, therefore alerting anybody in the vicinity to the fact that she requires assistance. The key advantage of this research is the development of a portable safety device that can be used to safeguard women no matter where they go. © 2023 IEEE.

HPC systems encompass more components with each new generation. As a result, the process of interacting with stable storage systems like parallel file systems (PFS) becomes increasingly difficult. Larger systems often result in more frequent failures, increasing the need and frequency to incorporate fault-tolerant mechanisms. One example is checkpoint-restart (C/R), where applications or systems save their data to non-volatile storage devices, such as a PFS. On failure, the system or application is restored to a saved state and computation continues. Today, asynchronous C/R is gaining traction for its ability to checkpoint data to permanent storage concurrently with the application. However, asynchronous C/R brings about many new challenges. For starters, asynchronous C/R introduces complex resource contention between the application and the C/R implementation. Additionally, some implementations adopt file-per-process writing strategies, which overwhelm PFS' at high core counts. In this work, we explore how multi-threaded POSIX I/O impacts aggregated throughput. To this extent we characterize the influence of different I/O parameters, such as the number of writer threads and how they access storage devices, has on aggregated I/O. We use the information gathered in this study to identify best practices when performing aggregated I/O as a first step in designing an efficient I/O aggregation scheme for asynchronous C/R. © 2023 IEEE.

Continuous glucose monitoring(CGM) technology has grown rapidly to track real-time blood glucose levels and trends with improved sensor accuracy. The ease of use and wide availability of CGM will facilitate safe and effective decision making for diabetes management. Here, we developed an attention-based deep learning model, CGMformer, pretrained on a well-controlled and diverse corpus of CGM data to represent individual's intrinsic metabolic state and enable clinical applications. During pretraining, CGMformer encodes glucose dynamics including glucose level, fluctuation, hyperglycemia, and hypoglycemia into latent space with self-supervised learning. It shows generalizability in imputing glucose value across five external datasets with different populations and metabolic states(MAE = 3.7 mg/d L). We then fine-tuned CGMformer towards a diverse panel of downstream tasks in the screening of diabetes and its complications using task-specific data, which demonstrated a consistently boosted predictive accuracy over direct fine-tuning on a single task(AUROC = 0.914 for type 2 diabetes(T2D) screening and 0.741 for complication screening). By learning an intrinsic representation of an individual's glucose dynamics,CGMformer classifies non-diabetic individuals into six clusters with elevated T2D risks, and identifies a specific cluster with lean body-shape but high risk of glucose metabolism disorders, which is overlooked by traditional glucose measurements. Furthermore, CGMformer achieves high accuracy in predicting an individual's postprandial glucose response with dietary modelling(Pearson correlation coefficient = 0.763)and helps personalized dietary recommendations. Overall, CGMformer pretrains a transformer neural network architecture to learn an intrinsic representation by borrowing information from a large amount of daily glucose profiles, and demonstrates predictive capabilities fine-tuned towards a broad range of downstream applications, holding promise for the ear

This paper presents a low cost Si IGBT circuit breaker for protection of the Wolfspeed 10 kV XHV-9 half bridge SiC MOSFET module. Based on the 10 kV SiC module short circuit (SC) protection requirement, both current limiting and desaturation protection are needed for this IGBT breaker. Voltages balancing for series-connected IGBTs and effective current limiting of this IGBT breaker during SC transient are discussed. Detailed modes transition between the 10 kV SiC module and the IGBT breaker during SC transient is analyzed. Demonstration of the 10 kV SiC module with the IGBT breaker SC test and continuous power test at 6 kV voltage are presented. © 2023 IEEE.

Two models are introduced to study the problem of matching two correlated graphs when some of the nodes are corrupt. In the weak model, a random subset of nodes in one or both graphs can interact randomly with their network. For this model, it is shown that no estimator can correctly recover a positive fraction of the corrupt nodes. Necessary conditions for any estimator to correctly identify and match all the uncorrupt nodes are derived, and it is shown that these conditions are also sufficient for the k-core estimator. In the strong model, an adversarially selected subset of nodes in one or both graphs can interact arbitrarily with their network. For this model, detection of corrupt nodes is impossible. Even so, we show that if only one of the networks is compromised, then under appropriate conditions, the maximum overlap estimator can correctly match a positive fraction of nodes albeit without explicitly identifying them.

This paper presents temperature sensitive electrical parameters (TSEPs) selection for a 10 kV silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET power module. Static parameters including ON-state resistance and threshold voltage are introduced. A double pulse test (DPT) platform is built to test the power module on a hotplate, and the switching transient behavior in a temperature range from 25 to 125 is analyzed in detail. Various parameters during turn on and turn off are measured and compared based on their temperature linearity and sensitivity. Load current and gate resistance impacts on measurement are discussed, as well as comparisons to low voltage SiC MOSFETs. © 2023 IEEE.
