The current rapid assessment of post-earthquake damaged houses has been done manually. The determination of the damage level is also very subjective. Moreover, the available time during a rapid assessment and limited number of enumerators lead to ineffective decisions for responses and assistances. There are several application had appeared trying to answer the problems, but still they have many types of data that need to be input and even need a lot of time to process. The system design to be simple, more user-friendly and time efficient to be operated during the assessment. This study is aimed to develop a conceptual design of a system to collect data of houses damaged by earthquake using mobile application which propose to work both online and offline. The system will consists of five components: mobile device, user, data center (web server and database), internet, and data processing center (administrator and manager to verify and analyze the data). The application design to be integrated with Google Maps containing concise data entry to facilitate users (trained users and common users) and to shorten the time of data collection. Final collected data will be presented through the website and perform descriptive and spatial analysis.

Forest fires are a major source of particulate matter (PM) air pollution on a global scale. The composition and impact of PM are typically studied using only laboratory instruments and extrapolated to real fire events owing to a lack of analytical techniques suitable for field-settings. To address this and similar field test challenges, we developed a mobile-microscopy- and machine-learning-based air quality monitoring platform called c-Air, which can perform air sampling and microscopic analysis of aerosols in an integrated portable device. We tested its performance for PM sizing and morphological analysis during a recent forest fire event in La Tuna Canyon Park by spatially mapping the PM. The result shows that with decreasing distance to the fire site, the PM concentration increases dramatically, especially for particles smaller than 2 µm. Image analysis from the c-Air portable device also shows that the increased PM is comparatively strongly absorbing and asymmetric, with an aspect ratio of 0.5-0.7. These PM features indicate that a major portion of the PM may be open-flame-combustion-generated element carbon soot-type particles. The accurate quantification of left ventricular (LV) deformation/strain shows significant promise for quantitatively assessing cardiac function for use in diagnosis and therapy planning (Jasaityte et al., 2013). However, accurate estimation of the displacement of myocardial tissue and hence LV strain has been challenging due to a variety of issues, including those related to deriving tracking tokens from images and following tissue locations over the entire cardiac cycle. In this work, we propose a point matching scheme where correspondences are modeled as flow through a graphical network. Myocardial surface points are set up as nodes in the network and edges define neighborhood relationships temporally. The novelty lies in the constraints that are imposed on the matching scheme, which render the correspondences one-to-one through the entire cardiac cycle, and not just two consecutive frames. The constraints also encourage motion to be cyclic, which is an important characteristic of LV motion. We validate our method by applying it to the estimation of quantitative LV displacement and strain estimation using 8 synthetic and 8 open-chested canine 4D echocardiographic image sequences, the latter with sonomicrometric crystals implanted on the LV wall. We were able to achieve excellent tracking accuracy on the synthetic dataset and observed a good correlation with crystal-based strains on the in-vivo data. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. This paper presents high performance kinect depth video compression with low computational cost. In the proposed scheme, down-sample is placed at the first part of pre-processing to reduce computational cost. Therefore, down-sampled image is refined in the middle of pre-processing part. At last stage of preprocessing, up-sample scheme is located in order to return into the original size then feed into H.264/AVC encoder. The proposed method can gain 3-4 dB and reduce computational time by 44 %-50 %.

Cryptography is the science and art of maintaining the security of messages when messages are sent from one place to another. One of the ways securing the form of text message information is by the encryption process using the Vigenere Cipher algorithm and utilizing the One Time Pad (OTP) algorithm as a key generator, where the message will be random when it is opened. The message encryption process used the vigenere cipher algorithm while OTP is used to secure the key with the same formula. After this research has been done, an application was designed to secure text messages by converting the text message into a random message so that the message was unreadable due to a secret message that could not be known by others. The results achieved can secure an encrypted message that cannot be reopened and if those messages were reopened, they must be decrypted.

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a pervasive developmental disorder that will affect children in terms of interpersonal communication, social interaction, and imaginative levels in play. Many therapies to help the motor neuron performance is one of them Pretend Play. Pretend Play is a therapy that invites children in playing to demonstrate something else and tell how to use objects that are considered in the child's imagination. However, in the era of highly developed technology, many fields have used the Augmented Reality method as a visualization of various aspects. With this method researchers will present the therapeutic visualization of the block to 3D transportation tool that is useful for strengthening motor nerves and visual strength of the child. The system can run well during marker detection, marker movement, and 3D object display with the accuracy of precision angle and distance between virtual world with real world reach 100% with angle 0 at distance 31 cm and the maximum distance from the marker is 46 cm and the maximum angle is 30˚.

Magnetic-free nonreciprocal photonic platform based on time-modulated graphene capacitors

We propose a paradigm for the realization of nonreciprocal photonic devices based on time-modulated graphene capacitors coupled to photonic waveguides, without relying on magneto-optic effects. The resulting hybrid graphene-dielectric platform is low loss, silicon compatible, robust against graphene imperfections, scalable from terahertz to near-infrared frequencies, and it exhibits large nonreciprocal responses using realistic biasing schemes. We introduce an analytical framework based on solving the eigenstates of the modulated structure and on spatial coupled mode theory, unveiling the physical mechanisms that enable nonreciprocity and enabling a quick analysis and design of optimal isolator geometries based on synthetic linear and angular momentum bias. Our results, validated through harmonic-balance full-wave simulations, confirm the feasibility of the introduced low-loss (<3 dB) platform to realize large photonic isolation through various mechanisms, such as narrow-band asymmetric band gaps and interband photonic transitions that allow multiple isolation frequencies and large bandwidths. We envision that this technology may pave the wave to magnetic-free, fully integrated, and CMOS–compatible nonreciprocal components with wide applications in photonic networks and thermal management.

Strong spatial confinement and highly reduced dielectric screening provide monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) with strong many-body effects, thereby possessing optically forbidden excitonic states (i.e., dark excitons) at room temperature. Herein, we explore the interaction of surface plasmons with dark excitons in hybrid systems consisting of stacked gold nanotriangles (AuNTs) and monolayer WS2. We observe a narrow Fano resonance when the hybrid system is surrounded by water, and we attribute the narrowing of the spectral Fano linewidth to the plasmon-enhanced decay of dark K-K excitons. Our results reveal that dark excitons in monolayer WS2 can strongly modify Fano resonances in hybrid plasmon-exciton systems and can be harnessed for novel optical sensors and active nanophotonic devices. Static body sway is a clinically relevant activity parameter, used to assess postural balance, across a wide spectrum of patient populations. We have examined static body sway using two different segmental total body center of mass (TBCM) estimation methods, the Generator of Body Data III (GEBOD) and Winter's method, using Microsoft Kinect skeletal data. Twenty subjects were recruited through an IRB study and asked to perform three trials of single leg stance with their eyes closed, with positioning based on the Balance Error Scoring System. A force plate system was used to estimate the ground truth data for comparison. Results show that both GEBOD and Winter's method performed similar in estimating anterior-posterior (AP) and medio-lateral (ML) body sway. The results also show highly correlated measurements by the two TBCM estimation methods when compared with the force plate system (mean RMSE value of 10.18 mm square in AP and 8.00 mm square in ML direction). Ordinary Least Square (OLS) linear regressions were performed to improve body sway results obtained from the two methods. Improved sway range values obtained from the simple regression method was able to reduce the estimation errors by 50% (∼ 10 mm in both AP and ML body sway). The two static body sway estimation methods were found reliable for obtaining body sway. Thus, the inexpensive, portable Kinect V2.0 can be used for clinical measurements.
