We perform transport measurements on double quantum dots defined in Ge/Si core/shell nanowires and focus on Pauli spin blockade in the regime where tens of holes occupy each dot. We identify spin blockade through the magnetic field dependence of the leakage current. We find both a dip and a peak in the leakage current at zero field. We analyze this behavior in terms of quantum dot parameters such as coupling to the leads, interdot tunnel coupling, as well as spin-orbit interaction. We estimate a lower bound on the spin-orbit parameter corresponding to an upper bound of lso=500 nm for the Rashba spin-orbit length. We also extract effective Landé g factors up to 8.0 from field-dependent spin blockade measurements.

Berkah Mart is one of the new minimarkets in Pekanbaru city which began to develop as a retail business to meet the needs of the community. In his operation, Berkah Mart still uses the traditional store management perception that the placement of product layout on sale shelves has not been through sales analysis. Existing products have not been reviewed from the consumer's point of view, whereas the marketing economics concept provides a variety of product and consumer management methods for business management in Berkah Mart, including market bucket analysis techniques and various itemset search algorithms. In this research, Market Basket Basket Analysis with FP-Growth algorithm is proposed to determine the layout and planning of goods availability. The application of FP-Growth algorithm proved to be useful in generating many and informative association rules to find out the consumer spending pattern at Berkah Mart in Pekanbaru. Moreover, from the rules of the customer association can be segmented separately to meet the specific needs of customers with cost-effective by using some special promotions for the general group. The experimental results show that FP-Growth algorithm can analyze quickly and efficiently informing consumer shopping pattern at Berkah Mart and can increase Berkah Mart revenue.

Based on the formulation of the problem to be discussed by the writer is to know: the influence of 0.4 mm spark gap variation, and standard spark plug type, to CO and HC, the influence of 0.5 mm spark plug gap variation, and variation of platinum spark plug on CO and HC, influence of spark gap variation 0,6mm, and variation of iridium spark plug type to CO and HC emission Method used to obtain data needed to support the writer that is research method with experiment, literature study method or literature study The result of this research concludes that there is spark gap influence 0.4 mm, with variations of standard plug, platinum and iridium spark plugs against CO and HC emissions, where the lowest CO value is 0.27% and HC 98 ppm, 0.5 mm spark plug with lowest CO 0.15% and HC 46 ppm, 0.6 mm spark plug gap the lowest CO value of 0.19% and HC 24 ppm. The standard treatment of quantum corrections to semiclassical electronic conduction assumes that charge carriers propagate many wavelengths between scattering events, and succeeds in explaining multiple phenomena (weak localization magnetoresistance (WLMR), universal conductance fluctuations, Aharonov-Bohm oscillations) observed in polycrystalline metals and doped semiconductors in various dimensionalities. We report apparent WLMR and conductance fluctuations in HxVO2, a poor metal (in violation of the Mott-Ioffe-Regel limit) stabilized by the suppression of the VO2 metal-insulator transition through atomic hydrogen doping. Epitaxial thin films, single-crystal nanobeams, and nanosheets show similar phenomenology, though the details of the apparent WLMR seem to depend on the combined effects of the strain environment and presumed doping level. Self-consistent quantitative analysis of the WLMR is challenging given this and the high resistivity of the material, since the quantitative expressions for WLMR are derived assuming good metallicity. These observations raise the issue of how to assess and analyze mesoscopic quantum effects in poor metals. Copyright © 2017, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The development of information and communication technology at this time has touched all sides of life. Almost no side of human life is not touched by this information technology, which is more synonymous with the world of computerization. No exception also with the computerization that is popular in the corporate environment and government agencies. If in ancient times everything was still done manually. However, at this time all leaders and management have realized the importance of this information technology products that can facilitate them in carrying out the day-to-day corporate functions. Decision Making System of goods purchasing is one of the determinants of the accumulation of goods. If the decision is taken right then stockpiling of goods can be avoided. In this thesis the authors designed a web-based system that helps Management in making the decision of the purchase amount of goods. the system was developed by using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and using SQL Server database processing applications. The end result of system design is expected to help minimize the accumulation of goods.

Tuning and switching a plasmonic quantum dot 'sandwich' in a nematic line defect

We study the quantum-mechanical effects arising in a single semiconductor core/shell quantum dot controllably sandwiched between two plasmonic nanorods. Control over the position and the "sandwich" confinement structure is achieved by the use of a linear-trap, liquid-crystal line defect and laser tweezers that 'push' the sandwich together. This arrangement allows for the study of exciton-plasmon interactions in a single structure, unaltered by ensemble effects or the complexity of dielectric interfaces. We demonstrate the effect of plasmonic confinement on the photonantibunching behavior of the quantum dot and its luminescence lifetime. The quantum dot behaves as a single emitter when nanorods are far away from the quantum dot but shows possible multiexciton emission and a significantly decreased lifetime when tightly confined in a plasmonic 'sandwich'. These findings demonstrate that liquid crystal defects, combined with laser tweezers, enable a versatile platform to study plasmonic coupling phenomena in a nanoscale laboratory, where all elements can be arranged almost at will. In this paper, we propose a novel non-invasive framework for the early diagnosis of prostate cancer from diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI). The proposed approach consists of three main steps. In the first step, the prostate is localized and segmented based on a new level-set model. In the second step, the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) of the segmented prostate volume is mathematically calculated for different b-values. To preserve continuity, the calculated ADC values are normalized and refined using a Generalized Gauss-Markov Random Field (GGMRF) image model. The cumulative distribution function (CDF) of refined ADC for the prostate tissues at different b-values are then constructed. These CDFs are considered as global features describing water diffusion which can be used to distinguish between benign and malignant tumors. Finally, a deep learning auto-encoder network, trained by a stacked non-negativity constraint algorithm (SNCAE), is used to classify the prostate tumor as benign or malignant based on the CDFs extracted from the previous step. Preliminary experiments on 53 clinical DW-MRI data sets resulted in 100% correct classification, indicating the high accuracy of the proposed framework and holding promise of the proposed CAD system as a reliable non-invasive diagnostic tool. © 2016 IEEE.

Single cell analysis provides information of individual cells that is lost in measurements of large cell populations. There is a growing demand on the capability of characterizing the properties of individual single cells. Since transient and temporal studies of single cells require continuous monitoring of the cell behaviors, an effective single-cell assay that can support time lapsed studies in a high throughput manner is highly desirable. Currently, most single-cell technology platforms do not provide optimal in vitro micro-environments to sustain cell growth yet allow continuous studies of single cell behaviors based on the quantitative analysis of their molecular marker signals. In this study, we present a highly versatile single-cell assay to accommodate different cellular types and culturing conditions and to allow studies of single cell responses to environmental factors. Our assay is non-invasive and can collect and survey single cell secretions at different time points. It provides a convenient, low-cost, and enabling tool to investigate single cell properties in a high-throughput manner, generating accurate temporal and quantitative information unachievable in other methods.
