Comparative Analysis of SAAS Model and NPC Integration for Enhancing VR Shopping Experiences

This article examines the incorporation of the Shopping Assistance Automatic Suggestion (SAAS) model into Virtual Reality (VR) environments in order to improve the online shopping experience. The SAAS model employs sophisticated deep learning methods to offer customized product recommendations, which are conveyed by non-player characters (NPCs) via voice-based interactions. Our goal is to develop an interactive shopping experience that replicates real-life interactions by integrating AI-powered recommendations with immersive VR technology. We gather and standardize data from several open commerce databases, such as Amazon Product and Customer Reviews. The SAAS model, in conjunction with GPT-3, BERT, and T5, undergoes training and testing to evaluate its effectiveness across multiple criteria. The results demonstrate that the SAAS model surpasses other models in delivering contextually aware and pertinent recommendations. The integration process outlines the specific steps involved in capturing, processing, and transforming user interactions in virtual reality (VR) into vocal suggestions provided by non-player characters (NPCs). This strategy improves customization and utilizes the immersive features of virtual reality to effectively engage people. The results of our research establish a higher standard for e-commerce, with the goal of enhancing the user experience of online purchasing by making it more instinctive, engaging, and pleasurable. © 2024 by the authors.

Opinion has always affected businesses and individuals especially from the Public. People react through social media and spread it incompletely. The situation was then accepted as public opinion. There are three categories of opinion i.e., positive, negative, and neutral. To investigate public opinion on a particular issue of interest, sentiment analysis might be employed. By offering a solution to the text classification challenge, this experiment focuses on the perception of airline tweets among the American public. We offer a method to classify tweets as positive, negative, or neutral using three machine learning classifiers: Random Forest Classifier, Naive Bayes Classifier, and K-Nearest Neighbors Classifier. We examined the performance of three machine learning classifiers in terms of accuracy, average precision, average recall, and average f-1 score. The results demonstrate that the Random Forest Classifier, which produces 82% accuracy, 80% average precision, 82% average recall, and 80% average f1-score, performs the best among the machine learning classifiers. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper proposes an alternative detection frame-work for multiple sclerosis (MS) and idiopathic acute transverse myelitis (ATM) within the 6G-enabled Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) environment. The developed framework relies on the implementation of a deep learning technique known as Dense Convolutional Networks (DenseNets) in the 6G-enabled IoMT to enhance prediction performance. To validate the performance of DenseNets, we compared it with other deep learning techniques, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and MobileNet, using real-world datasets. The experimental results show the high performance of DenseNets in predicting MS and ATM compared to other methods, achieving an accuracy of nearly 90 %. © 2024 IEEE.

Message Queue Telemetry Transport (MQTT) is a popular communication protocol for IoT, in which Publishers and Subscribers communicate through a single broker. Therefore, a distributed broker is necessary to accommodate multiple Publishers and Subscribers at multiple locations. Previous studies have used a method in which multiple brokers are connected in a ring to share information. However, in this method, the processing delay time increases as the number of brokers and Hops increases. In this study, we propose a direct connection method between distributed brokers that reduces the processing delay time. We also use an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine the communication protocol used to connect brokers. Localization and Perception for Control of a Low Speed Autonomous Shuttle in a Campus Pilot Deployment

Future SAE Level 4 and Level 5 autonomous vehicles will require novel applications of localization, perception, control and artificial intelligence technology in order to offer innovative and disruptive solutions to current mobility problems. Accurate localization is essential for self driving vehicle navigation in GPS inaccessible environments. This thesis concentrates on low speed autonomous shuttles that are mainly utilized for university campus intelligent transportation systems and presents initial results of ongoing work on developing solutions to the localization and perception challenges of a university planned pilot deployment orientated application. The paper treats autonomous driving with real time kinematics GPS (Global Positioning Systems) with an inertial measurement unit (IMU), combined with simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) with three-dimensional light detection and ranging (LIDAR) sensor, which provides solutions to scenarios where GPS is not available or a lower cost and hence lower accuracy GPS is desirable. The in-house automated low speed electric vehicle from the Automated Driving Lab is used in experimental evaluation and verification. An improved version of Hector SLAM was implemented on ROS and compared with high resolution GPS aided localization framework in the same hardware architecture. The overall configuration that combines ROS with DSpace controller can be easily transplantable prototype in other hardware architectures for future similar research. Real-world experiments that are reported here have been conducted in a small test area close to the Ohio State University AV pilot test route. are used for demonstrating the feasibility and robustness of this approach to developing and evaluating low speed autonomous shuttle localization and perception algorithms for control and decision making. © 2024, CC BY.

False data injection attacks (FDIAs) on smart power grids' measurement data present a threat to system stability. When malicious entities launch cyberattacks to manipulate the measurement data, different grid components will be affected, which leads to failures. For effective attack mitigation, two tasks are required: determining the status of the system (normal operation/under attack) and localizing the attacked bus/power substation. Existing mitigation techniques carry out these tasks separately and offer limited detection performance. In this paper, we propose a multi-Task learning-based approach that performs both tasks simultaneously using a graph neural network (GNN) with stacked convolutional Chebyshev graph layers. Our results show that the proposed model presents superior system status identification and attack localization abilities with detection rates of 98.5-100% and 99-100%, respectively, presenting improvements of 5-30% compared to benchmarks. © 2023 IEEE.

Recently, the research on daily health monitoring using a wearable sensor has been continually evolving. In the future, when this system is actually implemented, a vast amount of data transmission will be conducted from multiple sensors to the cloud server. A system capable of transmitting, storing, processing, and visualizing massive volumes of data is necessary for health monitoring. This research aims to develop a health monitoring system that can accommodate a high amount of data with high performance. The proposed techniques include numerous modifications to system architecture and technology. In the system architecture, a multi-database is proposed to enhance the reliability of the system. As an enhancement to the technology aspect, a time series database and MQTT server are proposed. As the result, the proposed system achieves significantly better performance in terms of throughput, database-writing speed, and database-reading speed compared to the existing system. © 2022 IEEE.

Cyber resilience has become paramount as a transition of maritime systems towards digitization, particularly within DC shipboard microgrids (SMGs). Adopting innovative communication technologies can enhance the resilience of SMGs for stable operation. However, challenges like false data injection and Man-in-The-Middle attacks pose significant threats to SMG operations when integrating these technologies into ship intelligent grids. In this regard, this paper proposes a reliable deep learning (DL) method, especially an Artificial neural network (ANN) with a deep encoder-decoder architecture, for the detection of cyber-intrusions and mitigating their effects, ensuring system control and stability for resilient operation of SMG. Detecting malicious data intrusions is crucial for maintaining optimal grid conditions and preventing disruptions in load dispatch. The proposed method utilizes a fusion of current and voltage data features for comprehensive DL model training, resulting in an adequate level of detection accuracy and providing cybersecurity analysis for SMGs, addressing component-level attacks, and devising defense strategies from aspects of detection, mitigation, and prevention. Furthermore, the deep ANN is fine-tuned with optimal hyperparameters to effectively counter cyberattacks, achieving an enhanced accuracy rate of 97.51% and minimal loss of 0.101%, surpassing conventional machine learning approaches. Rigorous test scenarios are performed to validate the robustness of the proposed method, emphasizing the cyber resilience of DC SMGs for enhanced security and operational integrity. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper proposes a prediction-based scaling and placement of service function chains (SFCs) to improve service level agreement (SLA) and reduce operation cost. We used a variant of recurrent neural network (RNN) called gated recurrent unit (GRU) for resource demand prediction. Then, considering these predictions, we built an intuitive scale in/out algorithm. We also developed an algorithm that applies Q-Learning on Edge computing environment (EdgeQL) to place these scaled-out VNFs in appropriate locations. The integrated algorithm that combines prediction, scaling, and placement are called RNN-EdgeQL. RNN-EdgeQL (v2) is further improved to achieve application agnostic group level elasticity in the chain, independent of applications installed on the VNFs. We tested our algorithm on two realistic temporal dynamic load models including Internet traffic (Abilene) and an application specific traffic (Wiki) on an OpenStack testbed. The contribution of this article is threefold. First, prediction model prepares the target SFC for the upcoming load. Second, an application agnostic characteristics of the algorithm achieves the group-level elasticity in SFC. Finally, the EdgeQL placement model minimizes the end-to-end path of an SFC in multi-access edge computing (MEC) environment. As a result, RNN-EdgeQL (v2) gives the lowest overall latency, lowest SLA violations, and lowest VNFs requirement, compared to RNN-EdgeQL (v1) and Threshold-Openstack default placement. © 2022 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

Heart failure is one of the global health issues that is needed for precise prognostic instruments. In order to predict survival and time-to-event outcomes in patients with heart failure, this study assesses machine learning techniques. Most effective prediction models are determined for heart failure prognosis by combining clinical information and evaluating model performance. According to the results, the LightGBM classifier had the lowest accuracy at 77%, while the SVM classifier had the highest accuracy at 88%. These findings suggest that machine learning can greatly improve clinical judgement in cardiovascular medicine and advance patient-focused treatment. © 2024 IEEE.
