Graph-based data present unique challenges and opportunities for machine learning. Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), and especially those algorithms that capture graph topology through message passing for neighborhood aggregation, have been a leading solution. However, these networks often require substantial computational resources and may not optimally leverage the information contained in the graph's topology, particularly for large-scale or complex *** propose Topology Coordinate Neural Network (TCNN) and Directional Virtual Coordinate Neural Network (DVCNN) as novel and efficient alternatives to message passing GNNs, that directly leverage the graph's topology, sidestepping the computational challenges presented by competing algorithms. Our proposed methods can be viewed as a reprise of classic techniques for graph embedding for neural network feature engineering, but they are novel in that our embedding techniques leverage ideas in Graph Coordinates (GC) that are lacking in current *** results, benchmarked against the Open Graph Benchmark Leaderboard, demonstrate that TCNN and DVCNN achieve competitive or superior performance to message passing GNNs. For similar levels of accuracy and ROC-AUC, TCNN and DVCNN need far fewer trainable parameters than contenders of the OGBN Leaderboard. The proposed TCNN architecture requires fewer parameters than any neural network method currently listed in the OGBN Leaderboard for both OGBN-Proteins and OGBN-Products datasets. Conversely, our methods achieve higher performance for a similar number of trainable parameters. These results hold across diverse datasets and edge features, underscoring the robustness and generalizability of our methods. By providing an efficient and effective alternative to message passing GNNs, our work expands the toolbox of techniques for graph-based machine learning. With the recent development of information technology, the importance of protecting personal information has increased. Because of the vulnerability in passwords, biometric authentication is now being used as a method of personal information protection. However, biometric authentication has the possibility of malicious authentication due to the emergence of technology that can generate biometric data that is difficult to duplicate. Therefore, this study aimed to solve the security problems posed by Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) in biometric authentication by using Hyperspectral Images (HSI). We searched for solutions to the problems identified in previous studies, such as the inability to correctly identify individuals who have not been previously learned and the length of time required for identification. In this paper, we used three channels of data randomly selected from hyperspectral face images for learning to identify individuals by binary classification into “learned subject (class)” and “unlearned subjects (classes)”. In this case, discriminators based on the least-squares generative adversarial network (LSGAN) model was developed for each class using three randomly selected channels of data from the HSI for two class classification. The proposed method significantly reduced the identification time and achieved very high discrimination accuracy in all classes. In addition, the results showed high accuracy throughout multiple face identification experiments.

The rapid proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has posed significant challenges for network resource allocation and management. In this paper, we propose a novel methodology for efficient resource allocation in Software-Defined Networks (SDNs) to meet the unique requirements of IoT applications. Our approach leverages the flexibility and programmability of SDN to dynamically allocate network resources based on the specific needs of IoT devices. Our proposal combines reinforcement learning with dynamic resource allocation, demonstrating its effectiveness in optimizing resource allocation and enhancing network performance. The results highlight the potential of our approach to addressing the resource challenges in SDN-based IoT environments. The proposed method obtains results superior to 30% of throughput in comparison to a traditional resource allocation in SDN to IoT applications. © 2023 University of Split, FESB.

In the rapidly evolving field of Augmented Reality (AR), delivering real-time, immersive experiences places a significant demand on computational resources, particularly in the context of video-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) inference tasks. Some solutions explorate optimize the tasks using the potential of Mobile Edge Computing (MEC), in which MEC brings the advantages of reduced latency and network congestion, which are critical for AR systems. In this work, we designed a novel algorithm named AR-MEC Optimization for the distribution of AI inference tasks among edge servers while considering several factors including task complexity, server capacity, and network conditions. Our approach not only ensures low-latency responses but also improves overall system efficiency and the user's Quality of Experience (QoE). Experimental results demonstrate that our unified approach significantly outperforms traditional cloud-based methods in terms of response time and computational efficiency, thereby highlighting the potential of MEC-assisted AR systems for real-world applications. © 2023 University of Split, FESB.

Antenna-on-Chip (AoC) is one of the most promising solutions in upcoming 6G era. However, AoC suffers from low gain usually due to the highly conductive silicon substrate in mainstream complementary-metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) processes. Artificial magnetic conductors (AMC) embedded within the stack-up of standard CMOS processes have been widely used to enhance the gain by isolating the AoC from the Si substrate and providing constructive reflection. Nonetheless, the ultra-thin stack-up of standard CMOS processes causes that only the AMC unit cells nearby the AoC can be illuminated well while the outermost part is illuminated poorly, which prevents the AMC from its optimal reflection performance. To mitigate the issue, this paper proposes a novel via-based magnetic coupling enhancement structures (H-CES- V) to improve the AMC illumination by coupling the energy from well-illuminated unit cells to outermost unit cells magnetically. Compared to conventional AMC, the gain can be improved by 1.5 dBi with the proposed structure. Finally, the proposed AMC-backed AoC with H-CES- V shows a boresight gain of 7 dBi (12 dBi better than a standalone AoC without AMC), and a radiation efficiency of 59 % at 94 GHz.

Immersive learning has gained significant attention with the rising trend of spatial computing, particularly in the after-pandemic era. Numerous research has explored the potential of immersive learning in higher education, primarily on the educational sector. However, prior research has frequently focused too narrowly on the effects of technology and neglected to address the crucial element influencing successful immersive learning in higher education. This study seeks to pinpoint the crucial element contributing to the development of immersive learning experiences. The methodology uses a systematic literature review (SLR) from 2018 up to 2023 to investigate the critical factors of immersive Learning in Higher Education. From the 728 papers initially retrieved, 274 were considered potential candidates, and ultimately, 86 articles were selected based on their relevance to the research question. The results reveal that the critical factors include learning design, technology, immersion, engagement, interactivity, and usability. Academic interests will benefit from this SLR's consequences as institutions create models for designing suitable immersive learning, especially within the context of higher education. © 2023 IEEE.

This study introduced a capacitive sensing interactive game platform aimed at promoting emotional stability, which we have named the 'Sunrise and Sunset' game. This game primarily consists of two pieces of regular textile fabric enveloping conductive silver fabric. A microcontroller was employed to extract the sensed capacitive values, and a game named 'Sunrise and Sunset' is designed to complement the slow raising and lowering of both hands. The development of this gaming platform has the potential to offer a novel method of emotional management, particularly in high-stress living environments. It can serve as an effective relaxation tool, aiding individuals in emotional balance, anxiety reduction, and stress alleviation. Simultaneously, this platform can contribute to the promotion of mental well-being, providing an engaging and beneficial means for people to manage their emotions and moods. © 2024 IEEE.

Hyperautomation acts as a real digital transformation with the support of several cutting-edge cognitive computation methods that include robotic process automation, natural language processing, artificial intelligence, and other emerging ones, which is conducive to processing complex industrial processes via extending the range of various data-driven cognitive decision-making algorithms. The study of air quality evaluations (AQE) plays a significant role in ensuring healthy atmospheric environments. In view of the objective existence of uncertainties, AQE can be modeled and addressed by a typical data-driven automated decision-making problem, and hyperautomation can provide a reasonable solution via associating with a variety of techniques. This article explores hyperautomation for AQE via evidential three-way large-scale group decision-making (LSGDM) in an intuitionistic fuzzy (IF) setting. First, the notion of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs) is incorporated into the paradigm of multi-granularity (MG) three-way decisions (TWD), and the model of adjustable MG IF probabilistic rough sets (PRSs) is developed. Second, an IF clustering analysis with the improved technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method is conducted to affirm representative members within a decision group. Third, a novel IF LSGDM method is built via adjustable MG IF PRSs and the evidence reasoning (ER) method. Finally, a case study in the setting of AQE is studied by using the presented evidential three-way LSGDM method. Corresponding experimental analyses are carried out for illustrating the efficiency of hyperautomation for AQE. In general, the proposed method improves the performance of information fusion by virtue of adjustable MG IF PRSs, and the TOPSIS method avoids the influence of subjective factors on decision results. One way to save time and resources in the human recruitment and hiring process is to post open job positions on the Internet, but the overload of applications creates challenges for hiring managers and companies to select an adequate candidate. One of the solutions is to apply intelligent tools such as Deep Learning and recommender system algorithms to speed up the hiring process and identify the right candidates. In this paper, we propose a two-fold algorithmic approach to 1) building an RNN classifier for resume classification;2) using cosine similarity for resume recommendation to find a candidate that fits job requirements best after selecting all the resumes that belong to the right category. The performance of the proposed RNN classifier is evaluated in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and confusion matrix criteria. The experiment results have shown that the RNN classifier performs better than the other classifiers such as GNB, Linear SVM, RF, and BERT on the same dataset. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.
