With Industry 4.0's technological advancements, the convenience and affordability of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IoT have increased. However, customers still face long waiting times in payment queues during the smart shopping experience. Current solutions rely on expensive sensor-based RFIDs or simple barcodes, making them impractical and limited in scalability. This paper proposes an economically smart solution with two cameras on NVIDIA JETSON NANO for realtime object monitoring and automated shopping. Communication between modules is facilitated by TCP/IP and HTTP protocols. By utilizing the YOLO v7, real-time monitoring is achieved. This innovative approach revolutionizes the customer experience by providing a seamless interface and time-saving features. Additionally, it offers potential integration with e-commerce businesses and payment gateways, further enhancing the overall customer and vendor experience. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper introduces AbotalebNet, a novel deep learning architecture optimized for time series forecasting, with a particular focus on the complexities of COVID-19 data. Hematological disorders require accurate and timely diagnosis for effective treatment and patient management. This research develops a new framework that uses deep learning to rapidly identify blood disorders from peripheral blood pictures. Our system uses an AECM and MSCNN combination to diagnose anemia, infections, and leukemia with greater accuracy. The MSCNN captures image details at multiple scales while the AECM detects meaningful areas in blood images which boosts detection results. Our system reached 98.5% total accuracy after validating its performance on public blood smear images. The detection method delivered 97.8% precision and 98.2% recall values during testing. Our diagnostic framework makes blood test results quicker and more affordable while reducing patient labs demands in healthcare environments that face resource constraints. © 2025 IEEE.

The large-scale application of renewable energy power generation technology brings new challenges to the operation of traditional power grids andenergy management on the load side. Microgrid can effectively solve this problemby using its regulation and flexibility, and is considered to be an ideal *** traditional method of computing total transfer capability is difficult due tothe central integration of wind farms. As a result, the differential evolutionextreme learning machine is offered as a data mining approach for extractingoperating rules for the total transfer capability of tie-lines in wind-integratedpower systems. K-medoids clustering under the two-dimensional “wind power-load consumption” feature space is used to define representative operational scenarios initially. Then, using stochastic sampling and repetitive power flow, aknowledge base for total transfer capability operating rule mining is ***, a novel method is used to filter redundant characteristics and find featuresthat are closely associated to the total transfer capability in order to decrease theultra-high dimensionality of operational features. Finally, by feeding the trainingdata into the proposed algorithm, the total transfer capability operation rules arederived from the knowledge base. It can be seen that, the proposed algorithmcan optimize the system performance with good accuracy and generality, according to numerical data.

A monocular 3D human pose estimation approach for virtual character skeleton retargeting

This paper presents a monocular 3D human pose estimation approach for virtual character skeleton retargeting with monocular visual equipment. First, the 2D human pose is achieved by using the OpenPose method from the continuous video frames collected by the monocular camera, and the corresponding 3D human pose is estimated by fusing and constructing the depth-channel pose estimation network. The pose filter network is next designed to smooth and optimize the 3D human pose estimation through a sliding window strategy. The human pose skeleton retargeting and optimizer methods are then proposed to support video motion capture applications and virtual character skeleton retargeting for animation based on the bone direction vectors and the re-projection error of joint points. Finally, the performance of the proposed approach is verified on Human3.6 M dataset, and the results show that the mean per-joint position error in the public dataset is 40.5 mm, which is lower than that of the multiple benchmark methods. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Urban air is frequently contaminated with CO, CO2, VOC, HCHO, PM 2.5, and PM 10. Rural regions are at a lower risk than those near roads and industrial areas that produce emissions. Air pollutants negatively affect its inhabitants' health, particularly the respiratory system. Most people will spend more time indoors, requiring a method for monitoring indoor air quality (IAQ). Urban communities need IAQ monitoring instruments as an early warning system for their health. This research seeks to produce inexpensive IAQ that can be utilized by all levels of society, particularly urban communities. This research utilizes a qualitative, design-thinking-based methodology. The research diverged from Empatize, which asserts that urban communities require a method for determining the local air quality. Moreover, it is determined at the define stage that IAQ monitoring, which includes a data log feature, is still comparatively expensive, so a solution is developed at the ideate stage. Creating a prototype is the next step in realizing the specified solution. In this investigation, they decided to use IAQ monitoring, which is relatively inexpensive but lacks log data storage. The author uses the ESP32-cam microcontroller to capture the screen display device, and the resulting image is sent to a telegram and processed with optical character recognition (OCR) to generate a data log. The results of prototype testing are utilized for prototype development. © 2023 IEEE.

The Android operating system released by Google in 2007 has experienced very significant development. In 2019, the number of Android application users reached 2.5 billion. One of the contributing factors is the nature of the android application, which is very flexible and easy to install. Users can download APK files on the internet. Generally, APK files are stored in archive format, so they are pretty easy to manage. However, APK files may be used to spread malware behind this convenience. This study aims to provide an overview of the process of planting malware/backdoor on Android applications and how to prevent it. This study initiated the injection of malicious code on five android applications, namely WhatsApp, Telegram, DroidCam, Fifa Mobile, and Tokopedia. According to the results, four applications were successfully injected, while one application failed. The failure most likely occurred as a result of the application's source code being obfuscated. Obfuscation is therefore strongly advised for Android applications to prevent code injection that could potentially lead to malware insertion. © 2023 IEEE.

The GPU has been successfully used for diverse emerging compute-intensive applications, including imaging, computer vision, and more recently, deep learning, to name a few. To offer high performance for such applications, it is provisioned with massive Register Files (RFs) to exploit high Thread-Level Parallelism (TLP). As RFs are designed to store thousands of contexts and provide very high bandwidth for uninterrupted supply of operands to hundreds of compute units for high TLP, they have become one of the most power-hungry components in the GPU. Meanwhile, faced with the end of Dennard scaling, it is more important than ever to innovate the microarchitecture of (power-constrained) GPUs to continuously improve the performance of future compute-intensive *** this work, we propose a GPU microarchitecture, WarpedCompaction, designed to utilize given RFs more efficiently, instead of relying on larger-capacity and/or higher-bandwidth RFs to further improve GPU performance. Specifically, first, we reverse-engineer the latest GPU's RF organization through microbenchmarking. This uncovers that each sub-core within a streaming multiprocessor contains only two dual-ported RF banks, and accesses to these banks are arbitrated solely based on register IDs. We also reveal that, despite the modest configurations, RF banks are largely underutilized, staying inactive for 33.5% of the time. Second, we observe that previously proposed RF optimization techniques, data forwarding and dead register elimination, cannot address this underutilization problem. This is mainly due to the (R1) insufficient RF access requests from a limited number of Operand Collector Units (OCUs) and (R2) inefficient operand distribution by the conventional RF bank arbitration. Third, we present two architectural solutions to tackle the observed inefficiency: (S1) OCU sharing and (S2) skewed arbitrator.
