Multi-granularity feature enhancement network for maritime ship detection

Due to the characteristics of high resolution and rich texture information,visible light images are widely used for maritime ship ***,these images are suscep-tible to sea fog and ships of different sizes,which can result in missed detections and false alarms,ultimately resulting in lower detection *** address these issues,a novel multi-granularity feature enhancement network,MFENet,which includes a three-way dehazing module(3WDM)and a multi-granularity feature enhancement module(MFEM)is *** 3WDM eliminates sea fog interference by using an image clarity automatic classification algorithm based on three-way decisions and FFA-Net to obtain clear image ***,the MFEM improves the accuracy of detecting ships of different sizes by utilising an improved super-resolution reconstruction con-volutional neural network to enhance the resolution and semantic representation capa-bility of the feature maps from *** results demonstrate that MFENet surpasses the other 15 competing models in terms of the mean Average Pre-cision metric on two benchmark datasets,achieving 96.28%on the McShips dataset and 97.71%on the SeaShips dataset.

In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), the coverage hole problem is one of the challenging problems that needs an effective solution. Data routing protocols in WSNs aim to disseminate the sensors' data to the central device with the minimum possible network resource usage. However, suppose there is a coverage hole in the middle of the source and destination nodes, and the source node doesn't have information about the hole. In that case, the data may choose the longer and more repetitive path to reach the destination, increasing resource usage, mainly energy and time. The condition is even more challenging when the network employs a mobile data collector. This paper proposes a Coverage Hole Aware Data Routing (CHADR) protocol for Mobile Sink WSNs that determines the shorter hole bypassing path in advance at the source node using the hole and data collector location information. CHADR evaluates the path efficiency using directional angle and expected hops count. After determining the path, data will be transmitted to the mobile sink using an Opportunistic routing technique. We proved CHADR performance with experimental simulations. © 2024 IEEE.

The interactions of oblique/bow shock waves are the key flow phenomena restricting the design and aerothermodynamic performance of high-speed *** Ⅲ and Type Ⅳ Shock/Shock Interactions(SSIs)have been extensively investigated,as such interactions can induce abnormal aerodynamic heating problems in hypersonic flows of *** transition process between these two distinct types of shock/shock interactions remains *** the present study,a subclass of shock/shock interaction configuration is revealed and defined as Type Ⅲ*** Ⅲa interaction can induce much more severe aerodynamic heating than a Type Ⅳ interaction which was ever reported to be the most serious in *** intense aerodynamic heating observed in this configuration highlights a new design point for the thermal protection system of hypersonic vehicles.A secondary Mach interaction between shock waves in the supersonic flow path of a Type Ⅲ configuration is demonstrated to be the primary mechanism for such a subclass of shock/shock interaction configuration.

The success of deep transfer learning in fault diagnosis is attributed to the collection of high-quality labeled data from the source ***,in engineering scenarios,achieving such high-quality label annotation is difficult and *** incorrect label annotation produces two negative effects:1)the complex decision boundary of diagnosis models lowers the generalization performance on the target domain,and2)the distribution of target domain samples becomes misaligned with the false-labeled *** overcome these negative effects,this article proposes a solution called the label recovery and trajectory designable network(LRTDN).LRTDN consists of three ***,a residual network with dual classifiers is to learn features from cross-domain ***,an annotation check module is constructed to generate a label anomaly indicator that could modify the abnormal labels of false-labeled samples in the source *** the training of relabeled samples,the complexity of diagnosis model is reduced via semi-supervised ***,the adaptation trajectories are designed for sample distributions across *** ensures that the target domain samples are only adapted with the pure-labeled *** LRTDN is verified by two case studies,in which the diagnosis knowledge of bearings is transferred across different working conditions as well as different yet related *** results show that LRTDN offers a high diagnosis accuracy even in the presence of incorrect annotation.

The phenomenon of distraction is very common, and its adverse effects are seen among people. The major cause underlying this issue is the ease with which adversarial web sites and web pages can be accessed. It is of utmost importance to locate, evaluate, and actively block such web pages in an effort to comprehensively and globally solve this societal issue. Thus, the given paper proposes an extension or plug-in to detect, analyze, and block websites smartly. The proposed approach takes keywords entered by the user as input into consideration, which eventually leads to the generation of web pages and web links. The filtering of web links is done by the proposed extension, followed by the extraction of features, the utilization of support vector machines (SVM) for binary classification, and the summarization of textual data using natural language processing (NLP). Lastly, the precise results corresponding to relevant web links are presented to the users, which will increase their productivity, thereby reducing their distraction levels under all working circumstances. The performance of the proposed approach is validated against existing recent studies based on evaluation metrics such as adversarial website detection time (ms) and accuracy (%). © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

This paper presents a high-security medical image encryption method that leverages a novel and robust sine-cosine *** map demonstrates remarkable chaotic dynamics over a wide range of *** employ nonlinear analytical tools to thoroughly investigate the dynamics of the chaotic map,which allows us to select optimal parameter configurations for the encryption *** findings indicate that the proposed sine-cosine map is capable of generating a rich variety of chaotic attractors,an essential characteristic for effective *** encryption technique is based on bit-plane decomposition,wherein a plain image is divided into distinct bit *** planes are organized into two matrices:one containing the most significant bit planes and the other housing the least significant *** subsequent phases of chaotic confusion and diffusion utilize these matrices to enhance *** auxiliary matrix is then generated,comprising the combined bit planes that yield the final encrypted *** results demonstrate that our proposed technique achieves a commendable level of security for safeguarding sensitive patient information in medical *** a result,image quality is evaluated using the Structural Similarity Index(SSIM),yielding values close to zero for encrypted images and approaching one for decrypted ***,the entropy values of the encrypted images are near 8,with a Number of Pixel Change Rate(NPCR)and Unified Average Change Intensity(UACI)exceeding 99.50%and 33%,***,quantitative assessments of occlusion attacks,along with comparisons to leading algorithms,validate the integrity and efficacy of our medical image encryption approach.

Dynamic Analysis and Stability Enhancement of a Weak Grid-Tied Hybrid system Integrating PV, Full-Scale Wind Turbine, and Battery Storage

Hybrid generation systems integrating photovoltaics (PV), full-scale wind turbines (WT), and battery energy storage systems (BESS) have garnered substantial interest for utility-scale grid-tied applications due to their enhanced efficiency and reliability. However, in a hybrid system integrating these resources at the dc-side of a voltage-source converter, the dc-link stability remains largely unexplored in existing literature, particularly under weak grid conditions and across different operational regions of the PV, WT, and BESS. This article presents a comprehensive small-signal stability analysis of a hybrid PV-WT-BESS system using detailed state-space and incremental impedance models. The analysis reveals that the hybrid system exhibits low-frequency oscillation instability in weak grid conditions when the PV operates in the current-limited region. A novel active damping strategy is introduced to mitigate these instabilities, effectively suppressing negative interaction dynamics and improving overall system stability;this is achieved by repositioning unstable eigenmodes and reshaping the dc-link dynamics to comply with the Nyquist stability criterion. The proposed compensation technique offers several key advantages: 1) it is simple yet effective and can be designed using linear analysis methods;2) it ensures stable operation under varying grid conditions without altering steady-state performance;3) it enhances the low-voltage ride-through capability;and 4) it eliminates the need for additional measurement sensors, thereby simplifying the implementation and reducing costs compared to alternative stabilization methods. Offline and real-time software-in-the-loop simulations validate the accuracy of the developed models and dynamic interactions, as well as the effectiveness of the proposed active stabilization approach across typical operating conditions. © 2020 IEEE.
