Presently, there is a significant decrease in the availability of fossils as a source of primary energy due to the continuous usage, time and constraints of environmental pollution. This led to the need to conduct decarbonization in the field of digitalization to enhance electrical energy services and develop a distributed generation (DG). There are many advantages of the DG over a conventional generator such as its closeness to the load and dependence on the location and capacity placed in the distribution system. Therefore, this study optimizes distributed generation (DG) placement and capacity on the Krueng Raya Feeder to increase power flow using artificial intelligent genetic algorithms. The simulation results showed an increase in the voltage profile and a decrease in power losses by installing 10, 11, and 14 buses with capacities of 76 kW, 42 kW, and 97 kW, which were selected based on the optimization of the genetic algorithm. Furthermore, the power loss decreased from 10,964 kW to 6.3734 kW at a percentage of 41.869% and also increased the average voltage profile of each bus. © 2022 IEEE.

The number of wheelchair users has increased at an alarming rate throughout the last decade due to the increased number of individuals with upper/lower extremity dysfunctions resulting from a stroke, spinal cord injury, trauma, accident, or workplace injuries. Wheelchair-mounted assistive robots have been playing an important role in assisting the activities of daily living (ADLs) of these individuals. This research focuses on the design optimization of wheelchair-mounted assisted robots for essential ADLs. The genetic algorithm (GA) was used to estimate the link length parameters of 5 degrees of freedom (DoFs), 6DoFs, and 7DoFs wheelchair-mounted robots to cover the seven workspaces commonly used in ADLs. The objective function used in the GA includes singularity avoidance, collision avoidance, and ADL coverage. The results show that the proposed optimized 5DoFs robot can cover 25%, 6 DoFs robot can cover 69%, and 7 DoFs robot can cover 71% of essential ADL workspaces. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents a ventilator that is characterized by simple construction and operation, as well as accurate execution of tasks due to the control system based on the Arduino board and servo motor. The device presented in this research is composed of two main parts: the mechanical part, represented by pliers, which are two opposite plates that can be moved at a specific angle and speed with the assistance of a servo motor connected to these two pliers by two iron rods, and the electronic part, which serves as the base for the ventilator described in this paper. The electronic component consists of a keypad, an Arduino board, and a servo motor. a display screen that shows the user-entered settings is also included. The main goal of this paper is to accurately adjust the amount of oxygen flowing to the patient through the ability of this device to determine the angle of the motor, and the number of breathing times that can be adjusted by adjusting the speed of the engine. A model of the proposed ventilator has been implemented and successfully tested in terms of modifying the motor angle and how rapidly the bag is pressed (motor speed). wherever the control system's settings have all been accurately and completely applied. In comparison to other devices proposed in numerous studies, this device is characterized by the simplicity of its design, the affordability of its parts, as well as its light weight, which makes it easier to carry and move from one place to another. It is also distinguished by its accuracy in controlling the amount of oxygen required as well as the number of breathing cycles per minute. © 2023 IEEE.

This study investigates the feasibility developing an Autonomous Collision Prediction and Avoidance System (RL-ACPAS) based on Reinforcement Learning automobiles in light of the increasing prevalence of autonomous vehicles on the road. In this research, we used a thorough approach that included data gathering from many sensors, RL agent training using deep reinforcement learning algorithms, and performance assessment. The findings show that RL-ACPAS has high rates of avoiding collisions, fast reaction times, and effective decision-making, all of which bode well for enhancing road safety, traffic efficiency, and economic sustainability. These results, combined with hypothetical data and practical consequences, illustrate the transformational potential of RL-ACPAS. The real-world effects on security, effectiveness, economy, and trust are emphasized throughout the presentation. Insights into technological developments, road safety awareness, regulatory issues, and consumer advantages are also provided to readers. Future directions include things like improved learning algorithms, sensor integration, field testing, ethics, human-AI interaction, regulatory frameworks, data sharing, and constant progress. The future of RL-ACPAS is one of experimentation, cooperation, and dedication to making autonomous transportation systems more secure and dependable. © 2023 IEEE.

The growing need for sustainable energy solutions,driven by rising energy shortages,environmental concerns,and the depletion of conventional energy sources,has led to a significant focus on renewable *** energy,among the various renewable sources,is particularly appealing due to its abundant ***,the efficiency of commercial solar photovoltaic(PV)modules is hindered by several factors,notably their conversion efficiency,which averages around 19%.This efficiency can further decline to 10%–16%due to temperature increases during peak sunlight *** study investigates the cooling of PV modules by applying water to their front surface through Computational fluid dynamics(CFD).The study aimed to determine the optimal conditions for cooling the PV module by analyzing the interplay between water film thickness,Reynolds number,and their effects on temperature reduction and heat *** CFD analysis revealed that the most effective cooling condition occurred with a 5 mm thick water film and a Reynolds number of *** specific parameters were found to maximize the heat transfer and temperature reduction *** finding is crucial for the development of practical and efficient cooling systems for PV modules,potentially leading to improved performance and longevity of solar *** cooling fluids or advanced cooling techniques that might offer even better efficiency or practical benefits.

Object detection is an integral piece of autonomous cars learning their surroundings and making safe judgements about where and how to drive in real time. This research compares and contrasts multiple machine learning models for object identification in autonomous cars in order to assess accuracy, computational economy, and real time performance. Then, we present how various well known proposed models (CNN, YOLO, SSD, R-CNN) perform in changing driving conditions. It researches the models capabilities to run real time applications within autonomous cars, as well as the trade off of speed and accuracy between different models. We also study how hyperparameter adjustment, data augmentation and transfer learning impact these models' performance. Through thorough research on benchmark datasets, this work shows the benefits of the adoption of hybrid models, which mix speed and accuracy, to increase item recognition in real world contexts. This study contributes to the expanding corpus of knowledge on AI driven solutions for autonomous systems by having useful insights regarding the improvement of autonomous vehicle object identification algorithms. © 2025 IEEE.

Knee Stiffness in Assistive Device Control at Quiet Stance: A Preliminary Study

The paper explores the use of knee stiffness as a parameter in the design of wearable knee assistive devices for augmenting human postural balance. The knee moment-angle relationship is utilized to estimate the quasi-stiffness of the knee. The measurement methods are carefully chosen to be non-invasive without rigid joint attachment to allow observation of unimpeded quiet stance. The relationship between identified biomechanical parameters and computed stiffness estimates is analyzed, and the resulting estimates are employed in the controller design of a stiffness-based knee assistive device. The paper also investigates the biomechanical response of the human body to the modulation of applied stiffness in the presence of varied visual stimuli. This research is a crucial first step toward designing knee-based assistive devices to enhance human postural balance in destabilizing environments.

The rapid development of IoT-enabled drones has paved the way for highly adaptable solutions across diverse fields such as firefighting, agriculture, and environmental research. This paper introduces RescueEye, a hexacopter drone designed with advanced IoT capabilities to tackle various critical tasks. The system integrates a Raspberry Pi 4B for real-time video streaming, an Arduino Mega for flight control, and a suite of sensors, including gas, temperature, and ultrasonic, to enable semi-autonomous and precise operations in demanding environments. The firefighting module of RescueEye includes features like carbon ball deployment for fire suppression, mechanical hands for rescue operations, and water hose maneuvering. These tools are combined with real-time harmful gas detection to enhance firefighter safety and efficiency. RescueEye is equipped with an advanced pesticide spraying system capable of operating precisely, minimizing human exposure, and enhancing productivity. In addition, the drone’s capacity to gather sensor data for land assessment and environmental monitoring makes it an ideal tool for research and survey tasks. The architecture of RescueEye integrates a six-channel Flysky radio controller, a live video transmission system via the Raspberry Pi camera module and a risk-scoring algorithm that processes sensor data for real-time risk assessments. This paper elaborates on the mechanical, electrical, and software design of RescueEye, illustrating its potential to improve safety, precision, and operational efficiency in various use cases. The system’s capacity for real-time decision-making, enabled by IoT-driven data collection and analytics, makes it a versatile tool for modernizing traditional approaches in firefighting, agriculture, and environmental research.

In this paper, a decentralized Greedy Assignment Learning solution framework using a Spiking neural network (de-GALS) is proposed for solving a Perimeter Defense Problem (PDP). A typical PDP scenario considers defenders protecting the perimeter of a convex territory from intruders. The region between the perimeter and the sensing ranges of defenders is divided into two different layers namely a sensing layer and a capture layer respectively. These layers are further divided into multiple angular segments. The layer closest to the perimeter is termed the capture layer in which the defenders operate and capture the intruders. The next layer is the sensing layer in which the intruders’ arrivals are sensed based on the defender’s sensors. The spatiotemporal movements of the defenders and intruders are converted into spikes and given as input to a Spiking Neural Network (SNN). In the SNN, the segments in the capture layer are assigned to a defender in a decentralized fashion to capture the intruders before they enter the territory. The SNN is trained in a supervised manner where the expert assignments are generated greedily based on the location of a defender. Based on the performance studies the proposed de-GALS framework shows better performance than other existing state-of-the-art solutions for PDP with the added advantage of requiring a less computational greedy approach for generating the expert data.
