Due to the fact that a memristor with memory properties is an ideal electronic component for implementation of the artificial neural synaptic function,a brand-new tristable locally active memristor model is first proposed in this ***,a novel four-dimensional fractional-order memristive cellular neural network(FO-MCNN)model with hidden attractors is constructed to enhance the engineering feasibility of the original CNN model and its ***,its hardware circuit implementation and complicated dynamic properties are investigated on multi-simulation ***,it is used toward secure communication application *** it as the pseudo-random number generator(PRNG),a new privacy image security scheme is designed based on the adaptive sampling rate compressive sensing(ASR-CS)***,the simulation analysis and comparative experiments manifest that the proposed data encryption scheme possesses strong immunity against various security attack models and satisfactory compression performance.

NEXUS: A 28nm 3.3pJ/SOP 16-Core Spiking Neural Network With a Diamond Topology for Real-Time Data Processing

The realization of brain-scale spiking neural networks (SNNs) is impeded by power constraints and low integration density. To address these challenges, multi-core SNNs are utilized to emulate numerous neurons with high energy efficiency, where spike packets are routed through a network-on-chip (NoC). However, the information can be lost in the NoC under high spike traffic conditions, leading to performance degradation. This work presents NEXUS, a 16-core SNN with a diamond-shaped NoC topology fabricated in 28-nm CMOS technology. It integrates 4096 leaky integrate-and-fire (LIF) neurons with 1M 4-bit synaptic weights, occupying an area of 2.16 mm2. The proposed NoC architecture is scalable to any network size, ensuring no data loss due to contending packets with a maximum routing latency of 5.1 μs for 16 cores. The proposed congestion management method eliminates the need for FIFO in routers, resulting in a compact router footprint of 0.001 mm2. The proposed neurosynaptic core allows for increasing the processing speed by up to 8.5× depending on input sparsity. The SNN achieves a peak throughput of 4.7 GSOP/s at 0.9 V, consuming a minimum energy per synaptic operation (SOP) of 3.3 pJ at 0.55 V. A 4-layer feed-forward network is mapped onto the chip, classifying MNIST digits with 92.3% accuracy at 8.4K-classification/s and consuming 2.7-μJ/classification. Additionally, an audio recognition task mapped onto the chip achieves 87.4% accuracy at 215-μJ/classification. © 2007-2012 IEEE.

The increasing dependence on smartphones with advanced sensors has highlighted the imperative of precise transportation mode classification, pivotal for domains like health monitoring and urban planning. This research is motivated by the pressing demand to enhance transportation mode classification, leveraging the potential of smartphone sensors, notably the accelerometer, magnetometer, and gyroscope. In response to this challenge, we present a novel automated classification model rooted in deep reinforcement learning. Our model stands out for its innovative approach of harnessing enhanced features through artificial neural networks (ANNs) and visualizing the classification task as a structured series of decision-making events. Our model adopts an improved differential evolution (DE) algorithm for initializing weights, coupled with a specialized agent-environment relationship. Every correct classification earns the agent a reward, with additional emphasis on the accurate categorization of less frequent modes through a distinct reward strategy. The Upper Confidence Bound (UCB) technique is used for action selection, promoting deep-seated knowledge, and minimizing reliance on chance. A notable innovation in our work is the introduction of a cluster-centric mutation operation within the DE algorithm. This operation strategically identifies optimal clusters in the current DE population and forges potential solutions using a pioneering update mechanism. When assessed on the extensive HTC dataset, which includes 8311 hours of data gathered from 224 participants over two years. Noteworthy results spotlight an accuracy of 0.88±0.03 and an F-measure of 0.87±0.02, underscoring the efficacy of our approach for large-scale transportation mode classification tasks. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected millions of people globally, with respiratory organs being strongly affected in individuals with comorbidities. Medical imaging-based diagnosis and prognosis have become increasingly popular in clinical settings for detecting COVID-19 lung infections. Among various medical imaging modalities, ultrasound stands out as a low-cost, mobile, and radiation-safe imaging technology. In this comprehensive review, we focus on AI-driven studies utilizing lung ultrasound (LUS) for COVID-19 detection and analysis. We provide a detailed overview of both publicly available and private LUS datasets and categorize the AI studies according to the dataset they used. Additionally, we systematically analyzed and tabulated the studies across various dimensions, including data preprocessing methods, AI models, cross-validation techniques, and evaluation metrics. In total, we reviewed 60 articles, 41 of which utilized public datasets, while the remaining employed private data. Our findings suggest that ultrasound-based AI studies for COVID-19 detection have great potential for clinical use, especially for children and pregnant women. Joint Frame Drop and Object Detection Task Offloading for Mobile Devices via RL With Lyapunov Optimization

Object detection has become an increasingly important application for mobile devices. However, state-of-the-art object detection relies heavily on deep neural network, which is often burdensome to compute on mobile devices. To this end, we develop a layering framework for joint video frame drop and object detection task offloading. In the lower layer, by invoking Lyapunov optimization, we devise an algorithm for partitioning and offloading the computation tasks of deep neural networks. This algorithm also specifies the flow control for admitting the application traffic into the network. In the upper layer, we use the flow control as a form of guidance in the action space in order to develop a reinforcement learning (RL) algorithm that selectively drops video frames with object detection performance in consideration. By the nature of design, this Lyapunov-guided RL guarantees the network stability. We show through simulations that our Lyapunov-guided RL drops video frames with reasonable object detection performance and reduced latency while keeping the network stable. We also implemented our algorithm on the remote-controlled (RC) car equipped with microprocessor and GPU, and demonstrate the applicability of our algorithm to real-time object detection tasks from the video stream generated as the RC car moves. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Depression is a common and serious mental illness that affects millions of people worldwide. Early diagnosis and treatment of depression are essential to improve the quality of life of those affected. Traditional methods of diagnosing depression include interviews with psychiatrists and completion of psychological questionnaires. These methods are time-consuming and costly, and some people may find it difficult to verbally discuss their depression symptoms. In this study, a Persian chatbot based on deep learning was designed and implemented to diagnose depression. The chatbot was trained using textual data related to individuals with depression and healthy individuals. The data used in this study was collected from Moshaver Co Forum, which includes question and answer exchanges and information sharing among Iranian users on this web platform, in two categories of depression and non-depression. The results show that the proposed chatbot is able to diagnose depression with an accuracy of over 85% and an F1 score of 80.5%, which shows better performance compared to similar researches. This Persian chatbot can serve as a useful tool for early diagnosis and treatment of depression. © 2024 IEEE.

This study investigates the combined berth allocation problem (BAP) and quay crane allocation problem (QCAP) while considering a multi-quay setting. First, a mixed integer linear programming mathematical model is developed based on various constraints and real port settings. Then, the multi-quay combined BAP and QCAP is solved using both the exact method and a metaheuristic optimization method, namely, the cuckoo search algorithm (CSA). This analysis pertains to a one-week planning scenario, utilizing data from a real port. In this paper, a graphene-dielectric metasurface is proposed for effective optical biosensing. The structure is composed of a periodic array of double-slit split-ring resonators (SRRs) adjacent to silicon bars over a sheet of graphene and silicon dioxide substrate. Interactions between electric dipoles (bright modes) in silicon bars and magnetic dipoles (dark modes) excited in SRRs lead to a high quality factor resonance based on the phenomenon of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). High electric field confinement is achieved within the two gaps of SRRs at the resonance frequency, which result in strong light-analyte interaction. The structural parameters of the proposed metasurface are optimized to achieve the best performance. The biosensor is analyzed using the finite-element method (FEM) and the results are presented. Owing to the high Q-factor EIT resonance and the enhanced light-matter interaction inside the gaps, a high sensitivity of 496 nm/RIU and figure-of-merit (FOM) of as high as 741 RIU−1 are achieved that are higher than those reported in recently published works. The resolution and the linearity R2 value of the proposed biosensor are calculated to be 2.02e-4 and 0.999, respectively.
